Rose did a backflip and stumbled a bit, then she waited till the stallion was on top of her and flew up, barely missing him, while saying, "ole" She couldn't help but laugh at the situation. Being reduced to dodging, but at least she's putting on a show

"I. Have. Had. Enough!" The Stallion roared as he screeched to a halt. He turned around to face Rose again but didn't charge this time. "Let's see if you're faster than this!" He brought up his right hoof as his threshold aura swelled around him, brightening around his hoof.

 

Tricis calmly watched this unfold, observing. His techniques are as simple as they come, but he's taking advantage of his large body to channel greater demon energy at once.

 

"Yo-Blast Cannon!" The stallion discharged a widespread beam of red magical energy at Rose.

Rose ran towards the edge of the ring, then she made a small divider that split the shot around. She stood up and said as the shadow on her back took shape of a scythe, "that was fun and all, but it's time to end it."

The blast split in two, one of them crashing into a vertical collum behind her and the other crashing into one of the concrete divider between the stands and the ring.

"Oh, time to end it is it? Well then come on and give me your best shot!" The Yokai taunted.

As Dynamo continued to watch the match, he was surprised at how fast Rose was running. It looked as if the Muscle Pony was unable to keep up with her quick movements. He was surprised as she managed to use the thrown concrete as stepping stones. He held in a laugh as she jumped on top of his head. "It looks as if she's just trying to use his anger to make him hurt himself. Not a bad strategy, if you ask me. If you can't output the power to match, then you just use one's own power against them." He smirked as he could understand Rose's plan. He trembled as he felt the ground shook from underneath him. He knew the Muscle Pony was strong, but he didn't think he had that much strength to cause the ground to shake. His eyes widened as Rose's opponent created a swirl of energy around his hoof. "It's like he's trying to throw an energy beam, but he's not even a unicorn. How much power can this guy have?" He asks as the Muscle Pony launched the beam at Rose, who created a scythe from her shadow to slice the beam in two. The blue unicorn didn't expect to see Rose have another weapon in her arsenal, but he was impressed. "That scythe was pretty cool, but how did she get it to materialize? Hopefully, this new weapon will help her in finishing this fight."

Rose nodded and charged at the stallion, she didn't know if it would work,but she needed to try. The aura might be his magic, so he constantly draining. Once she was close, she hopped into the air and swung it with both hooves at his side

"In terms of power and aptitude, he's beyond mediocre, but his well is incredible. Rose will have to dish out a lot all at once to get past his barrier."

They scythe crashed into the stallions left side, creating black and red sparks of energy before being pushed back against his threshold. "Don't you see it's pointless?" He swiftly grabbed Rose by the scruff of her neck and slammed her onto the ring on her back. Then he kicked her side, causing her to tumble away from him.

Rose's scythe flickered a bit, but she was able to concentrate on it and stop herself from falling off. She sat down and caught her breath as she thought about how to win, there was no way she was going to lose to someone this slow

Jade nodded, still keeping a close eye on both competitors' fighting styles. "He relies a lot on that power, but it has to run out eventually. If she can wear him down, she might get an advantage."

Rose looked up to see that the stallion shot another blast and did the only thing she could do at the moment. She used her scythe to cut it in half, while putting more magic into it. The scythe flickered away after and she used her shadow to pull the floor up and put spikes behind it. She was almost out, keeping that scythe drained her a bit. If she need to, she could be reckless for a ring out

With Rose's back to the edge of the ring, the muscle pony slowly approached, walking around the upstretched floor tile to corner Rose. "It's been a blast, but I think we can all see where this is going now. You're on your last leg, so do yourself a favor and stay still!" He charged at her, shoulder first.

She flipped the tile over , do it was between them and took to the sky, hopefully he impales himself on the spikes and if not, he's next to the edge, so she could push him off and keep him for getting up after before the count is done. She closed her eyes and started to attach the shadows together to start on the barrier

Dynamo nodded as both Jade and Tricis had deduced the Muscle Pony's abilities. "He's had that aura around him for most of the fight. I wonder if that aura is connected to his energy. He has to run out of energy eventually. If that happens, the Rose can find an opening." As the attack of the scythe had made contact, Dynamo narrowed his eyes as the Muscle Pony pushed the scythe back. He wanted to say he was surprised, However, after seeing what this opponent was capable of, he should've known better. He winced slightly as the muscle pony slammed Rose to the ground and kicked her away. As she landed near the edge of the ring, he watched as the Muscle Pony fired another blast at Rose. 'As soon as he's done attacking, he follows it up with something else. He's not giving her room to breathe or to even counterattack.' He thought as Rose had managed to slice the beam in two with her scythe. He wondered why her scythe had disappeared, but he chalked it up as the weapon had costed some of her magic. 'There's got to be something she can do to turn this battle around. If she has a plan, then she has to do it now. It looks like this guy is about to wrap things up.' He tried to stay hopeful as the Muscle pony began to charge towards his teammate. Dynamo watched as Rose took to the sky and began attaching the shadow's together. "What is she doing to the shadows? Is she trying to create some weapon or a technique? That, orr does she have a plan to involve their shadows?" He wondered as he kept his eyes on the battle, while the entire ring was engulfed in a dome of shadows.

The stallion looked up as a barrier of shadow started forming around them. He stopped his momentum by slamming a hoof into the ground, kicking up chunks of concrete. Deciding that it wouldn't be wise to charge her at that point. "What's going on here?" He asked as the dome made of their shadows formed above him. The whole ring was encased in a dome of shadow.

 

"What is it with combatants obscuring the ring?" Topaz asked. "The whole ring is drowned in shadows and your guess for what's going on in there is as good as mine!"

Jade was curious as well, wondering why Rose was obscuring the ring in darkness.

"She must have a reason for this," she muttered. "Perhaps she has a special ability in the dark?"

Rose almost collapsed from summoning. She said with a weak voice that only he could hear, "I was trying not to do this, but I'm almost done." She pulled out a small glow stick and cracked it for a dull light, then she made the walls around him attack him all at once.

"We've been over this already, haven't we?" The stallion asked, watching the tendrils come toward them. "Your shadow trick can't bre-"

The tendrils broke through his threshold with the sound of shattering glass and sinking into soft flesh. He was pierced from several locations, chest, back legs, creating wounds of various depths. Green blood trickled from his wounds. The shadows quickly retracted as the shadow dome disappeared around him. He was standing with shaky legs while warm blood ran down them.

"You were... hiding that from me the whole time," He said before collapsing in front of her.

"Well now, isn't that a bit disgraceful," Tatterhoof commented.

Rose bowed her head and said, "I'm sorry that it came to this." She disposed of the glow stick and dropped the dome as she hopped off the rink and started to walk out of the arena, before she passes out.

"Hold on now, you can't leave the ring until I finish the ten count!" Topaz ordered, noticing that Rose was on the verge of collapsing as well. It seemed the muscle pony was still alive.

Rose stopped in her tracks and muttered to herself as she turned around, "I hope he doesn't get up. I probably can only last a few minutes with how much magic I've used." She flew back on and stepped up to the stallion and opened up her left wing, the sun glinted off a feather.

Topaz stopped counting when the stallion collapsed again, closing his eyes and letting out a defeated sigh. She took a moment to poke the stallion's back. "It seems the muscle pony has lost consciousness at seven counts, making Rose the winner! Let's check the scoreboard!"

 

The spectral scoreboard updated.

Winner: Rose - 2 points

Technique: Rose - 1 point

Creativity: Rose 1 point 

Entertainment: Muscle Pony - 1 point

Team Lotus: 11 points

Tatterhoof: 9 points

 

"Looks like it's gonna be down to the wire, ponies! Team Lotus needs two points and Tatterhoof needs four!" Topaz announced. "And it's all going to be down to a captain versus captain battle!"

Tatterhoof had a confident look on his face despite being down two points. "Four points? I'll get five, easy." He said into his mic before dramatically jumping into the ring, the fishtail ends on his ringleader jacket flapping in the wind.

 

"Now you'll get to see the true power of the Travelling Circus," the green-suited stallion gloated to Rail. "With Tatterhoof listed as the team's owner, it was easy to overlook this team, you see? Perfect way to scam the other gamblers! Hypothetically, of course!"

Dynamo sat on the edge of his seat as the ring was still engulfed by shadow. He didn't know what was going on in the fight, but he hoped that his teammate would be okay. As time went on, he thought he could see a small light within the darkness. He even thought he had heard the sound of glass shattering, but he couldn't understand why. As the dome started to disappear, Dynamo was surprised to see the Muscle Pony had finally fell down. The blue unicorn could only look on in confusion as Rose's shadow had returned to her."W-What in the world just happened? How did Rose manage to use her shadow in such a unique way?" He looked towards Tricis to see if the coach had a reasonable explanation. He didn't know how it happened, but he was happy to see that their team had won the match. Once the scoreboard was updated, Dynamo felt relieved that their team had regained the lead. However, the scores were almost tied and now it would be captain against captain.

He watched as Tatterhoof jumped into the ring and looked like he was ready to start the grand finale. He looked to Rose and nodded with a serious expression. "Just be careful when fighting him. It seems like he wants to put on a show, but it's probably just an act for his true nature." He noted as he remembered Tatterhoof's earlier outbursts. "We may not know his abilities, but I know you'll be able to win, Jade. I believe in you, Captain." He says, while giving his captain a reassuring smile.

She watched as Tatterhoof himself took to the ring and grandstanded, making her raise an eyebrow.

If this showboat wants entertainment, I suppose I can humour him.

Jade spread her wings and shot up into the air, performing a small loop-the-loop and going higher. She halted in the air and arched back, spinning and rolling during her decline.

As she neared the ground, she turned so her hind hooves faced the ring and used only one to land, using it to springboard toward Tatterhoof. She performed a few sideward rolls and landed with a sweep that ended with her on all four hooves in front of her opponent. She concluded her dynamic entrance with a bow.

How's that for a show?
