I made a petition for the Dazzlings to return

Cool. I’m also going to open this discussion even further by suggesting that people opine on why they would like them to return. Personally, they had a lot of chemistry and fit really well as legitimate threats to the EqG world so I would love them to show up.

To me, the Dazzlings' story hasn't been given its proper conclusion and needs to be addressed otherwise it could end up like Sunset's story where it took them four years to finally resolve the one lingering point involving her and Celestia. Of the three, Sonata is the one who is most likely to reform as she was the least evil. Aria is in the middle given her presence as an emo type character so she could go either way. Adagio would prove to be the most difficult. She was the mastermind behind their actions so her chances of being reformed are the least as she could desire revenge more than anything else and reject the idea of changing her ways. As villains, they still are considered the best ones EQG has had so perhaps them changing their ways would be a detriment. Hard to say what can be done here.

You have to login with the link you provided so I edited it. To be honest with you. I don't really think a petition will do much of anything. They may come back one day, but petitions almost never work.

The problem with the Dazzlings is anything they're likely to do is going to feel like SO much of a repeat of the Changelings. They have the same lesson to learn. You can be loved without forcing people to give it to you.

Not sure that would be the lesson though. the Dazzlings fed on discord - not love; With the destruction of their gems, they would seem to have lost even that ability, making them just power hungry and relatively unpleasant teen girls - not unlike Sunset.  Even sticking with lessons we have already seen in pony though, there is the Sunset reformation, the Coco/Suri thing, and of course the more recent Diamond Tiara/Silver spoon reformation. Plenty of room to mix that up and give some or all the girls a pony-style redemption

Discord (heh, hard to use that word when not talking about HIM) seemed like it was just the first step though, in a "divide and conquer" sort of way. With the Battle of the Bands, the Dazzlings had already "won" before they even took the stage. Unity was gone, and in the chaos, "Welcome to the Show" provided the students with a new rally banner, where they would turn to the Sirens for whatever they needed. Notice how there was no hint that the music would incite a riot or anything. Everyone was enthralled and captivated, and the message of the song doesn't reflect what the Dazzlings were pushing for up until that point. Before the actual competition, they were creating a disease. Then in the finale, they were presenting themselves as the cure. They almost seemed to be setting themselves up as deities.

There’s is also the interesting possibility that you can redeem one or two but not all three which would fall a bit under the two later examples. An interesting take would be to have one of them be redeemed midway into a special and have that Dazzling be the key to redeeming one more.

The one most likely to be redeemed would be Sonata as she was the least evil of the three.

Yup, hence "some or all" :)

That's actually a great idea! Perhaps Sunset could reform Sonata, and then Sonata could reform Aria, forcing Adagio to try and get revenge on her own.

Or let one of more of them escape back to Equestria.

I think they're redeemable (or at least Sonata is). We never saw them meet a nasty end, so I assume they're still out there. In the end, I just want to see their story completed or continued, y'know?
