Has Twilight and Shining Armor's sibling relationship been "normalized"?

When first introduced, Twilight and Shining Armor's brother-sister relationship seemed....well, perfect! Very close, not having any fights, just two happy siblings! However, recently it seems their relationship has been brought down to normal sibling levels. They bicker more (mostly in the comics) and according to Twilight her fear of ladybugs was because of her brother. Not to mention it's been revealed that the 200th episode will be about the two settling an apparent sibling rivalry score out of nowhere. She hasn't even called him BBBFF since his introductory episode.

Speaking as someone that actually has a BBBFF, I think their relationship has always been just fine. I don't see it now as 'normalized'. First, I thought the comics weren't seen as cannon. Second, just because the lyrics in a song sung while she was upset said they never had a fight, doesn't mean it's the literal truth. Twilight is guilty of romanticizing their relationship. We all do that.  I don't remember it, but when I was very little I took my big brother's slippers and stuffed them in the toilet. Family lore says I then said "How do you like your slippers now?" Yet, I say we never fought or had problems.  Third, the short where Twilight is afraid of ladybugs is meant as a visual joke. I don't think of it as something exactly cannon to the series.
