What are trends, marketing tactics, or other things that used to be prevalent in media that should make a comeback? One of mine would be the return of several daily cartoon lineups like Kids WB and Fox Kids.

With 24 hour cartoon channels/streaming there isn't really a need for those types of programming blocks anymore. 

I do miss Saturday morning cartoons, though.

I would like a more consistent release airing schedule from Disney. Its inconsistent scheduling cause me to lose interest in promising shows like Milo Murphy's Law and the Tangled series

Pro wrestling should be huge again. It's the ultimate form of entertainment. I didn't appreciated it enough when it was around in TV.

I agree with this. They just randomly replaced multiple daily airings of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir with airings of Amphibia only months after the former series began airing on Disney and Miraculous got landed in a graveyard slot just before Disney Junior starts.

MTV & VH1 focusing on music instead of reality TV BS. And I mean rock and metal, the sounds that put that channel on the map.

In short, bring back Headbangers Ball. Again. 

 

Cartoon wise, I would like to see a return to more Gothic, gritty and more serious aesthetics. Batman, Gargoyles, Johnny Quest, Swat Katz, X-men, The Incredible Hulk, Teen Titans, etc. Cause it feels like every kids cartoon has to be an action comedy. Nothing is gripping or dramatic anymore. Heck, I'd like to see a return of Cartoons aimed at teens. It feels like cartoons are either Dora the Explorer levels of safe and basic or family guy levels of mature and crude. There's not much of a middle ground. Kinda why I stopped watching in the mid to late 00s.

You maybe in luck. Fans this year are spoiled for choice. NJPW keep putting on critically acclaimed shows. Impact seem to finally be getting their act together. The NWA are back and seeking a TV deal of their own. AEW will be premiering on TNT to huge hype. Plus there's the litany of other indy shows across the world fans can choose from. It might not be another Monday Night War, but it's a good time to be a fan.

DuckTales 2017 might float your fancy in that regard.

But yeah, we're long overdue for new Batman and X-Men cartoons.

Yes, Sometimes it's fun to just sit and watch, not decide what to watch, find it online, and watch the same show for eight hours straight. Also it's fun to have a weekly tradition.

I've never made it any secret my tastes in music, so this is probably going to make me sound like a broken record (pun intended).

I wish pop/rock music would trend back to:

• Actual singing, no/less autotune.
• Hammond organ! (talking like in 60s music like The Doors) Also harpsichord.
• Prominent winds/brass/strings sections/solos (and not just saxophone/violin).

I know that plenty of good music is being made today. I just wish the good music was what's hip, instead of that...noise they call mainstream pop nowadays. I hate to say "noise". I know it's sharply opinionated, dismissive, closed-minded (and it makes me sound like my grandma - she would have agreed and used the same word lol). But since I've returned to work, I've been exposed to it more than ever before and every. single. song is just like that. It's sad, but true.

It seems improbable for what I'd like to ever be hip again... But a girl can dream. No one could have ever predicted the mini-Swing revival fad of the late 90s. Maybe something similar could happen with 50s, 60s, or 70s music?

On a different subject: My Little Pony: For G5, I want the toys to be like G1/G3. I want larger/better looking toys. I want variety. G4 became all about the show. The show is fine, but the collector in me wants to see a great generation for toys again.
