BrawnyCharger 511 October 16, 2019 Share October 16, 2019 In MLP: FIM many characters make return appearances, including villains. One particular villain who didn't return was Suri Polomare. I'm curious as to what happened to her since she tried to cheat Rarity out of her fashion designs in Manehatten. She could have made a return and once again go at it with Rarity. What do you think happened to her, and could there have been an opportunity to have seen her return?
ShadOBabe 18,997 October 16, 2019 Share October 16, 2019 (edited) It would have been great to see her again. She was a nasty piece of work. What likely happened is that she got hired based off “her” work in the design contest. But then couldn’t deliver for her employers since she didn’t sew her own dresses, nor did she create her own fabric. She would have to constantly lift ideas and work from others to maintain her position, but that’s just not sustainable. Evidence is going to mount, and someone is going to confront her with it eventually. And that would lead to her being blacklisted in the industry. I could see her then pinning all her anger on either Coco or Rarity, hating them for succeeding on their own where she couldn’t, and trying to spite them. Latecomer 439 October 17, 2019 Share October 17, 2019 If she did have any kind of fashion success on her own, it likely imploded after the publication of the Journal of Friendship - unless Rarity was generous enough to redact all mention of her.

Rushing cash 836 October 17, 2019 Share October 17, 2019 Well, she did appear in the background in the episode "the gift of maud pie", and she looked alright. They either exposed her as a fraud or she simply had to take a new assistance she can boss around. Maybe she even learned her lesson and moved on. I think its the she kept doing what she did before, you can't change everyone.
Cash In 22,249 October 19, 2019 Share October 19, 2019 (edited) I was half expecting her to come back in Season 9, but of course that didn't happen. Most likely is that she moved on with her career or her reputation went downhill. Edited October 14, 2021 by Cash_In At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

FirePuppy 735 October 24, 2019 Share October 24, 2019 (edited) Odds are, the writers could not think of a sequel episode for Rarity Takes Manehattan, unlike how they were able to make The Washouts, The Lost Treasure of Griffonstone, and Sweet and Smoky. Suri Polomare is an earth pony whose talents (and not even particualrly great ones) lie in fashion. You might as well ask the same about her former assistant.

Don’t you suppose that episode isn’t entirely canon, though? The journal isn’t referenced since then.

Why would we assume that? Its' a normal episode. And a copy of the Journal was actually seen in Frenemies.

Well, if it only covers the events of Season 4... and we assume the bits about Daring Do being real were redacted... what other antagonists were there? Flim and Flam? Sepul-Coloratura 762 November 2, 2019 Share November 2, 2019 I think she got disqualified from the contest, and judging by how celebrities and gossips work in Canterlot, she might have never returned to the fashion business since. I'd say she deserve it.
