With the Washington Nationals winning their first ever World Series Championship, that means that 24 out of the 30 teams have won at least one World Series title. Meaning that there are only 6 left who have not yet won their first championship. The Seattle Mariners, Milwaukee Brewers, Texas Rangers, San Diego Padres, Tampa Bay Rays, and Colorado Rockies. For the record:

• The Brewers' only appearance was in 1982. They came close by taking the Cardinals to a 7th game, but lost in the end.
• The Rockies' only appearance was in 2007, but were swept by the Red Sox.
• The Padres made 2 appearances, in 1984 and 1998. They lost to the Tigers in 5 in '84, and were swept by the Yankees in '98. 
• The Rays' only appearance was in 2008. They lost to the Phillies in 5.
• The Rangers made 2 back to back appearances in 2010 and 2011. They lost to the Giants in 5 in '10. but came close in '11 by taking the Cardinals to a 7th game, but lost in the end.
• The Mariners have never made an appearance in the World Series.

 But I have this optimism for seeing all the teams win at least one championship some day. Which of these 6 teams do you think will be the next one to end their drought and finally have their first championship?

While may not really happened this soon, but if it did I would say maybe the Brewers. Though it could be the Ray's. They seem to have potential with their current rosters. But that if it happens this soon.

The Rays appear to be getting the closest to contention.

Sucks that the Mariners are now the only team out of the 30 teams to have never appeared in the World Series though.

Well, technically, the Nationals won one in 1924 when they were the Washington Senators. As the new franchise though, yes, a first.

Can say the same thing about Milwaukee. Won the series in 1958, but that was when the Braves were there. No titles as the Brewers yet though.
