LucasB 196 April 18, 2020 Share April 18, 2020 I know it's a pretty random question but I just realized I'm actually better at drawing ponies facing right rather than left. I'm not sure if anyone else have a preference?
O-78 28,605 April 18, 2020 Share April 18, 2020 I usually draw ponies facing left, because I start with the head and then move from left to right on the sheet. 5 Signature by @Mellow Mane

ExplosionMare 18,062 April 18, 2020 Share April 18, 2020 I mostly draw them facing right unless two ponies are talking to each other. Rarely do I start from the left. (Oh wow, I must be one of the few people who starts from the right) 2 Boom!
Splashee 28,563 April 18, 2020 Share April 18, 2020 Facing left. It is just something I do for all drawings, not just ponies. I recommend having characters facing right if you do video game art for 2D, since facing left would mean the character is moving in the negative direction, thus having a direction set as default (by my standards). In order to change a direction, someone must first press the controller's direction, which causes the player to move, in this case negative as moving towards the left (facing left), so the default should be, facing right, ready to move right (positive).
Lucky Bolt 35,062 April 22, 2020 Share April 22, 2020 Typically I find it a heck of a lot easier to draw them facing left for some reason. ☆ My socials ☆

Odyssey 5,716 April 22, 2020 Share April 22, 2020 I prefer to draw ponies facing the front, there's less you can do with dynamic poses but I find their faces cuter when they're looking at the camera
