Honestly, aside from pokemon go, all their cellphone games were trash, animal crossing pocket camp included.

They really didn't know how to approach the mobile industry and in some cases their microtransactions were completely unnecessary, and other times so necessary the games were just slot machines for your phone.

I think this way is better. Big name videogame companies should stay as far away from the mobile market, else they end up like Konami.

I mean I guess whatever the animal crossing pocket camp was fun I guess for a while but it became kinda annoying. I haven't bought the new animal crossing cuz after playing pocket camp idk about it and its kinda always the same thing to me. Plus I wanted to buy pokemon even tho bad reviews and that. They can still release freemium stuff to the switch if they wanted I suppose. 

Would have liked a nintendogs mobile but then again there are tons of pet based mobile games I guess.

I’m cool with that. Pokémon GO was a fun phenomenon, and I even enjoyed Pocket Camp for a bit. But I want them putting all their resources where it counts: the video games!

Saying they're "quitting" is jumping the gun a bit, but the biggest take away is that they're gonna scale back significantly

It was really obvious from the start that they were only in the mobile market to appease investors, and apart from FE Heroes, most of their games underperformed significantly, some outright bombing, so this outcome isn't really surprising

Nintendo could have had even more people playing their games if they did mobile well. Mobile gamers outnumber console/PC gamers by a LOT.

I am alright with this, as I do not care about mobile games. I do know though that mobile is an extremely lucrative market in Japan, as well as handheld, so I'm glad they're going to be putting more time into Switch games instead, since I actually do care about and really enjoy the Switch.

Nintendo is still supporting new mobile titles for their franchises, like Pokemon. Not only is there Pokemon UNITE but that Cafe mobile title was announced recently too.
