Misconception: Bronies hate anime and make fun of anime fans

I am a huge anime fan! Finished Attack on Titan and moving on to Death Note. This is a huge misconception towards bronies. Also does it have to be Japanese to be clssed as anime? Just wondering...

Welp, I sure as hell don't hate anime! I've watched a crap ton (Naruto, Attack on Titan, Madoka Magica, Ao no Exorcist, Nurarihyon no Mago, One Piece, Prince of Tennis (the manga was better) and many more)

 

I don't understand their point of view. Many Bronies prefer anime to MLP, when it comes to what they'd watch for leisure, and many people here have anime characters as icons..

And in response to your question, American media calls Japanese animation " Anime" while in Japan any animation is considered Anime..hope this helps

Well, this is the first I've heard of this. I'm an anime fan, in fact it was anime that led me to MLP. I met bronies on an anime fan forum I used to be a part of (until unfixable glitches got it shutdown). I've seen bronies at anime conventions. Since when has this been a thing...?

The comments on Youtube videos are rife with immaturity, insensitivity, and homophobia.  There's absolutely nothing wrong with actually being gay, but these puerile, small-minded individuals (behind the shield of anonymity) spout homophobic hate speech at the drop of a friggin' hat.  It never even occurs to these infantile d-bags that what they're saying drips with prejudice and ignorance.  Oh, and there's just about zero correlation between what shows you do or don't watch and your sexuality.  People like Heavy7403 are a dime-a-dozen; they're the cliche of the internet (and I'm unimpressed by his user name).  He's clearly a childish, brave-behind-anonymity homophobe that unthinkingly attacks anyone and anything.  People like that focus the majority of their time and energy on hate.  It's a wonder that they like anything enough to so much as feebly "defend" it in such a base manner.

I'm an anime and manga fan.  I saw my first Japanese-animated film when I was possibly five or so, and I've watched / enjoyed many an anime series.  And if someone presumes something about my sexuality based on my interest in MLP that's entirely their "problem" lol.  I wouldn't and shouldn't be offended because, again, there's nothing wrong with being gay.  It should be about as upsetting to me as someone mistakenly thinking I like lettuce.  I don't care for lettuce, but I needn't get bent out of shape and run around telling everyone I'm not into lettuce. xD

I used to love anime to death but i got tired of the style and panties and other overused stuff like that in every single anime. I can only read manga. I dislike anime. Japanese voices make me cringe.
