general What's your opinion on the website "Quora"?

Ehh. It's not the kind of cesspool that Yahoo Answers always was. There's some legitimately good discussion. Only issue is that I'm sick of the barrage of email notifications for stuff I don't care about.

The fact that Quora demands that you use your real name for posting questions and answers show that they have no care for privacy when it comes to posting anonymously. Even writing fake names won't do any good because again, they don't care about privacy. They're deliberately making you give out your real name and location, ant that screams invasion of privacy. Am surprised it hasn't been shut down yet, or even been hit with a fat lawsuit.

Quora is a place to ask questions and get answers, or find them. I mainly use it for answering questions, sometimes people will request you stuff to answer, not necessarily, but optional. I find it intriguing, yet it can be overwhelming and some questions don't even make any sense. It's basically like a subreddit, except everyone posts their own answers to a question individually, or in some cases, comments are also added too.

From my experience, Quora feels more like it's own search engine, but instead you get results from people personally, rather than having to get the same answer, it contains a variety of answers and factors.

When it was new, it was really nicer. You had more quality questions and answers. Now it is basically self promoting Indians dropping their "wisdom".
If you look for a better QA website I can recommend the Stack Exchange network. They have quality control.

The site is basically one of the things I add to "ignore" when I use search engines.

I only lurk there, but I like it.  I learn a lot about topics I'm curious about, from history, to animals, to tourist attractions.  Sure, some of the answers may be subjective, but a lot more seem very informative to me.

It's home to all sorts of bizzare questions and answers. I haven't been on it much for a couple of years, so maybe it's different now.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.
