Worst thing you have ever seen

Yikes, okay.

WARNING: Upsetting

Spoiler

During my time at veterinary technician school, we had to sometimes shadow at clinics. I chose to shadow at an emergency clinic. A couple rushed in with their Airedale terrier puppy who had collapsed from heat exhaustion (said couple was walking the dog at an outdoor event and offered no water). When the dog initially fell unconscious, one of the two owners attempted CPR. However, dog & cat CPR is performed differently than on humans! The owners, not knowing this, broke the dog’s ribcage and tore its lungs with the force they applied. When the dog arrived at the clinic, it was practically lifeless and bleeding excessively from the mouth. It didn’t take long before it passed away. It was really, really upsetting and served as a reminder that working as a veterinarian or veterinary technician is not just about working with puppies & kittens. Animals die and sometimes, in very terrible ways. I will never forget that day.

When I was a kid, we were driving somewhere and passed an accident. My dad all of the sudden yelled at me to look away.  I didn't, and saw police putting a sheet over a dead guy on the side of the road. That haunted me for a long time.

One of the forums I was on was a long time ago raided and I remember someone posting a picture set of someone torturing a cat. I won't go into details. It was horrifying.

I've been really lucky that I haven't seen much of anything terrible in my life.  That's the upside of a life of reclusion and isolation, I guess.  The only irl thing that comes to mind that really upset and disturbed me was witnessing our family's cat suffer a brutal dog attack.  He made a full recovery, though, and lived quite a few happy years after that.

The other day, my sister showed me video of something that looked like a person getting their nail ripped out. :lostit: I’m sure I’ve seen way worse but that’s the only one I could think of.

:lostit: Ouch, that's gotta hurt :eww:

When I was little my neighbors had a cat named Alex, who spent a lot of time with me and we were close friends. Then my neighbors had a house fire and afterward a lot of the burned refuse was deposited in the woods across the road. I was meandering through the woods one day and found Alex, who had apparently died in the fire. The fact that the cat was deceased was bad enough, but it was winter and he was frozen solid with eyes open and a horrible look on his face, propped on top of the debris without any burial or covering at all. I don’t remember seeing any burns, so he must have died from smoke inhalation or something else. But that grimace and sunken grey eyes were enough to give me nightmares for months. I ran from the woods, screaming and crying and never went back. I was 7 I think.

Would you ever rip your toenails out with pliars and then gouge the rest out with tweezers and electrical vice grips? Its quite a thing really.

Truth be told, I never ever do this kind of thing. And I never will.

Most recently? My ex.

This response right here. Beautiful.

Besides that.

Cops were directing traffic around a motorcycle accident. The thing is you could still see everything as you drove past. You could see the guys bloody disfigured body laying right in the road. It was bad. I can still picture that guys body. He was 100% dead.

Possibly this one time I came across a video on the internet of two Mexican drug cartels being executed with both a chainsaw and a machete, bloody hell was it brutal.

Another time is witnessing my grandmother dying in her hospital bed with myself and my family surrounding her saying goodbye, quite an emotional time if I have to say.

Umm stuff on the internet that I can't describe here since it's against the rules! But there's some really cursed stuff on the internet.
