She’d be more like the Twilight we see in the main show’s pilot: rude and hesitant about friendship. Equestria Girls is an extension of that series, not a self-contained storyline; you might as well lean into the “same characters, different environment” element. I realize that this is an unpopular opinion these days.

I mean, I guess, but I really don’t think the solution was having a character with a completely different personality. 

Before you ask, I’m not writing a fanfiction to back up all of my criticisms. Do you think every story beat in Equestria Girls was the absolute best possible one they could have chosen?
