Blank is the eyes of Alpha, while Flurry heart is convulsing.

The shot cleanly broke off Alpha's wings and dropped off of her. But it turned into a solid mass that resembles a sword designed like a blade.

( since the main target was flurry, im sure cozy wasnt hit.)

Tiara would try to run towards them and save the shot ponies.

But the 3 was already sinking into the void.

She could only manage to save Cozy Glow.

As she turns away and run toward Fuoco  the Lyra leaped through her Shadow to assault her.

 

Meanwhile on Blu's side. As she had finished his shot, someone would congratulate him.

" nice shot kiddo!"

Her hoof is already in full swing before Blu could properly react. He could probably block it with his weapon or his briefcase, but one things for sure, something is going to break.

Stab! A spear hits her arms.

" FffffaaaaAAA!!!"

A pegasi from the back thru it. Blu was not familiar of the mare.

And from behind an old stallion would order a charge.

" Protect FUOCO at all cost!" Make shift guards mixed of mares,  stallions, pegasi and earth pony, would charge towards the Castle; where fuoco makes her stand.

" you've got to be kidding! Plot armor!?" She cursed Blu and quickly went over the comic panel.

Meanwhile, the gates of Crystal Empire would release a horde of infected purple creatures.

Some of the guards who sees this would quickly run for their lives towards Fuoco's group; hoping for salvation on their end.

Fuoco wasn't as stable on her hind legs, but she was well within her element here, standing and defending rather than escorting a retreat. Since she knew a shadowmancer was in the mix, she had been scanning the shadows more than the skies.

So when Lyra revealed herself Fuoco was quick to send a ball of fire towards her hooves. She didn't intend to hit her so much as to destroy her shadow. Fire had a way of making shadows fleeting and unpredictable, and few shadowmancers wanted to be halfway through a shadow when it disappeared.

With an erratic medley Fuoco danced the fireball around Lyra's hooves, forcing her to keep moving and eliminating any shadows that she got close to in an effort to separate her from Tiara and keep her from escaping.

Blu was lying prone as his rifle required, so he immediately rolled away from the sound in an effort to distance himself from the sudden appearance rather than properly dodge,

Having been given more time to react, he'd ready his pistol as he moved to a better position, he was not equipped for melee combat, but it looked like he had his support now. Soon he'd be able to set up a proper spot, since it looked like he had more targets.

Blu snorted again, "Yep, called it. A trap."

As he saw that the pink one was gone he set up to fire again. These targets weren't as apparently strong as the alicorns, so he could fire a bit faster by reducing the charge time. Still, he would prioritize the strongest targets, focusing on the aerial targets first. Once he got into a rhythm he'd be able to fire about every five seconds.

Meanwhile Fuoco would depend on her outcome with Lyra. If Lyra had not managed to escape, Fuoco would move to more aggressive tactics. Swapping the fireball for a wall of fire that she would sweep towards Lyra, forcing her to adjust course towards the incoming infected so she could fight both groups together.

If Lyra had already escaped. Fuoco could turn her attention to the gates immediately, pushing a wall of fire towards them immediately to use the gate as a choke point. Partly in the tactical sense in that they had to travel mostly single file so as to not get burned, and partly in the literal sense as the fire consumed most of the oxygen in the area.

This would force The infected Lyra to back away, which is strange for an infected.

Fuoco was able to successfully hold the infection and Blu able to gun down the stragglers with the Villagers who aided him against Madeline.

Tiara would finally reach Fuoco and or probably Blu and apologize.

A choice to press on or escape. Find new salvation or make one?

Fuoco was closer to Tiara than Blu, and Tiara had no reason to go to Blu. Fuoco would simply nod as she continued playing for the moment as everyone gathered.

She would look at those who had arrived, "Do we have the strength to clear the castle?"

If those gathered responded confidently she would nod, "Then we advance. Stay close, strike true."

Fuoco would stay in the middle of the group so as to best defend or bolster as the circumstances required as they moved through the gates.

(It's unclear where exactly they are, whether they're at the gates of the Empire, or at the gates of the castle at the center of the Empire. I'm operating that they're on the outskirts of the city.)

If those gathered did not seem confident she would nod, "Then we retreat. Find somewhere to regroup and prepare."

 

Blu would move to follow depending on Fuoco. If the group moved to advance, he would follow from a distance, ensuring proper overwatch of the group. If they moved to retreat he would join up in the group itself so as to not be left behind.

The group would charge back into the crystal empire gates! It was Equestria's time to fight back!

As Fuoco bolster them, they charged with vigor. Some of the guards of the crystal empire who flee'd, stayed and aided Fuoco's group. This is their home and family.

They easily got through the gates and into the  village.

A lot of panic and turmoil is happening inside the city.

Fleeing helpless civilians and panicked guards at a lost on what to defend.

Will they help here or charge further in and into the castle?

Helping here may increase their troops but would give time for the enemy to plan or escape.

Charging in might give less time for the enemy to escape or plan but is very risky for traps.

Fuoco quickly took stock of the situation and nodded calling out and pointing to specific members of the group, "You two, close and secure the gates. We don't want anyone ambushing us from behind. You four, secure one of these buildings. We'll bring anyone who can't fight back here. The rest of you move in threes and fours, clear buildings carefully and send any non-infected back here. Gruit, Tiara, you two are in charge of organizing anyone sent here. Anyone willing to fight put them in groups and send them out. I'm going to get on top of the building they secure so my music has as much range as possible."

She nodded, turning her gaze towards the castle. Something about it called to her, but she wasn't going to overextend herself to take it without a force behind her. "Understood? Move out." She started to play an invigorating tune, bolstering the morale of those gathered before following the four she had selected for clearing a nearby building, which included Blu, to bolster their efforts to quickly secure it.

She was hoping for a larger building, one where they could hold a lot of creatures unable or unwilling to fight so they could be more easily protected, as well as giving her a good vantage from the roof. Blu would also benefit from the higher vantage point to put his rifle to use.

Buildings near the wall tend to be smaller or at a point not taller than the wall. Hence a better plan was to secure a block rather than one building. If wanting for a high vantage point, then occupying a segment of the wall would be good and the wall can also be used as their safe point as that building is much more sturdier than the houses inside. 

( you know now that i think about it there was no walls on original crystal empire... It was just a force field made by cadence.... Well lets just say they made a wall.)

( anyway the outcome would be still the same wether you agree to the wall or not. It's effect/ consequences would be a bit far off)

Fuoco's plan would run perfectly. A lot of lives were saved, and the ponys gane much hope and vigor.

Cozy would eventually wake up and see the very busy and hectic scene of ponys scrambling and working together.

Tiara would eventually put her up to date  and was also ready to help.

" Blu ...sorry... What do you want me to do?" She eagerly asked.

As time would pass.

It seems that there is a point where a line was drawn.

The push and pull of each side would not move as Fuoco's invasion reached a limit at how far they can push.

As the territory they occupy grows, so too was the responsibility of keeping it.

It seems the enemy has seen it too and would not go any further.

Perhaps this is the calm before the storm.

One things for sure, both sides had the time to have a breather and rest.

Will this be the turning point?

Fuoco and Blu wouldn't stay at the top of the first building cleared, and would move deeper into the city as better vantage points were cleared by the rest of their forces. Blu would move to higher points with more commanding views of enemy territory, while Fuoco would move to buildings sitting more central to the controlled area so her music could have the greatest effect.

Not taking his eyes off the target he had in his sights, he held up one of his rifle rounds with his magic, "Can you make more of these? Otherwise, I think you'll be of more use on the ground with the others. Maybe the flute player can use you? She seems to be in charge here, and unlike the others seems to be doing a good job of it."

If she could make more rounds for him like Starlight had, Blu would have her top off his ammo supply before sending her over to Fuoco anyway.

Fuoco wasn't ready to rest just yet, she had felt something as her group had approached the spire in the middle of the city. Something was reverberating her music, and she had a feeling the castle held it.

As evening came she sent out a call for everyone to regroup for the night, and prepare. She would meet with Gruit, Tiara, Cozy, and anyone with rank that they had rescued from the Crystal Empire citizenry and guard.

Once gathered, she would begin, "Now, we have a good hoof in the ground here, but unless we can clear the city our grip will be tenuous. I need ideas and plans." She would look around at those gathered, "I have felt something, some sort of magical artifact, in the direction of the spire. Does anyone know what that might be? Maybe something we could use?"

Alot of people would ponder at the idea.

But Cozy was the one who was able to point it out.

" The Crystal Heart? Only Flurry Heart can use that..."

Everyone pondered on the idea too, but it seems impossible to them that the crystal heart is resonating with Fuoco.

Tiara would cut the silence.

" Anyway, resonate or not; we still need to take the Crystal heart out of the enemy hooves. Who knows what or how they might use that against us; especially when the have the Princess on their clutches."

A problem all on its own, it seems a primary objective has been raised.

Blu glanced over to inspect what she had made. Given it just needed to be a metal cylinder and small enough to not touch the barrel on the way out, the tolerance wasn't very strict. So he could test it without risking his rifle, though it did occur to him that he'd need to start conserving ammo if others weren't capable of making more for him. While he could make his own rounds for his rifle, it would take time and raw materials, meaning he couldn't fire at the same time.

"That'll do, try and get them to match as exactly as you can. The shape keeps it straight so it hits where I aim, and the weight is what does the damage."

If Flurry could make them faster with practice, Blu would allow her to stay, otherwise he'd send her off to help Fuoco, who would have her assigned to a group to gather and return survivors to safe shelters.

In any case, I think we push our advantage and try and take it tonight before they can fortify it, or realize that we're after it."

(The crystal ponies used the heart before Flurry, maybe a sufficient number of crystal ponies could purify it like they did after they got it back from Sombra the first time?)

A metal cylinder with the specifics Blu needed was made by Cozy glow per minute. Her time of crafting it varies to that and would not improve.( what bullet is she making? For the pistol or for the magical railgun?)

" the crystal heart is at the center of the empire; which is located at the castle. Im sure our enemies have already fortified that area already."

One of the guards answered.

A ruckus would ensue as others would question and make their own suggestions.

Cozy on the other hand would speak up.

" me and Flurry heart would usually escape the castle through the sewers. that place isnt heavily guarded as we've been using that way for a long time and was not caught by the guards."

"Hmm?" Tiara stared at Cozy in disbelief.

" this is the first time I've heard of this. What other mischief's have you and the princess been up to huh?"

Cozy smiled for a bit before her guilt would crawl back again and remind her of her stupidity; her smile and giggle quickly turned to dread and frown.

Tiara has putted everyone in an awkward situation and she knows it.

" um... Anyway... The sewers then?

Maybe we can make an assault above so they wouldn't notice the one going through the sewers?" Tiara suggested.

everyone looked in confusion, as to what kuya proposed to do. him, stealth? it was quite unbelievable.

" please, your bragging would give us a way in a second; you're probably giving away our location as we speak." Blitz scolded Kuya.

" hey, there's a lot of things you don't know about me, you'd be surprise at what i can do!" he bragged.

blitz would just give a questioned frown towards him.

" No. i suggest speed! i can do it!"

the hot headed pegasi would charge at Kuya; pining him down on the floor; but her punches has no effect on a strong stallion.

kuya would easily shove her off and would not whish to continue the fight and wait for someone else to stop her.

She shook her head, muttering something about codas, "Regardless, we'll play the instruments we have. If we have no teleportation the team will just need to be more careful."

She turned her attention to the rest of the group, "Let's send several groups then, if they're not expecting one attack they won't expect multiple. Blitz can lead one group for a fast strike, and if they can't penetrate the castle they will serve as a diversion for Kuya's group. Then Cozy can lead a third group go through the sewers and enter the castle from below. Who do we have available to fill out the groups? I'm thinking three to five ponies each, depending on what the leaders think."

 Fuoco awakened Tiara's inner teacher and started to explain to her.

" as you and Blitz have pointed out and asked about the situation. Yes our enemies do have the ability to move one place to another, and yes Blitz; they do it in a lesser and different kind of way that is easier for them to manipulate. The difference between a teleport and the rest is, Teleport does not require you to travel. You simply are there. 

"For instance the other's technic require you to enter something travel inside it then head outside the other way, take note that this way is easier than teleporting; but isn't easily pulled of either, hence not everyone can go inside their shadows and move inside that realm. They can still end up getting trapped there or get delayed from their exit, depending of the medium they used to travel.

On the other hand teleporting instantly puts you to a place where you want to be without traveling.

Hence it is impossible to detect someone teleporting to a specific spot.

Its dangers though is calculating where you land. A mis calculation of visualizing where you want to be can cost one's life.

Blitz replied with bravery.

Kuya replied with confidence.

 

" i suppose I'll need someone who's good at tight spaces... And doesn't mind the sewers... I wish Shallow was with us..."

Cozy replied with worry.

"I suppose me and lady Tiara, will be staying put in the base." Gruite ale recommended.

It seems the plan is moving along.

Fuoco wasn't really paying attention to the explanation other than noting that it was different from what she had been taught. Fuoco again wished she had studied that lesson better, as it would have been very useful here.

She turned her attention to the three team leaders. "Gather your teams and report back here, I'll give you a bit of a boost before you leave, no sense going without every advantage we can give."

As each team returned ready, Fuoco would play a short song, rejuvenating them as best as she could before sending them off.

 

Blu would arrive at the meeting after the teams had left, "If you're planning to take the castle, I'd have to advise against it."

Fuoco looked a bit incredulous, "And why is that?"

"It isn't structurally sound. The whole thing stands on three pillars, if any of the pillars were damaged enough the whole thing will topple over. It wouldn't even take that big of an explosive by my estimates."

Fuoco looked like she was going to dismiss the idea, but then looked thoughtful. "Thank you for bringing this to my attention, and for your help earlier. Your instrument is quite powerful. You should rest, no doubt there will be even more in the morning."

Unless someone else had a comment on the exchange, Blu would leave, and Fuoco would appraise the castle in a new light. Sure, there would be a loss in morale to the civilians to see the castle destroyed, but it would likely be worth it to remove it from the enemy's hooves. And he had a point, if this colt could find that flaw there was no reason to think that the enemy wasn't also aware, and wouldn't take the same opportunity if ousted.

The groups team has gathered and recieved their blessings.

Blitz had 10 pegasi with her.

Kuya had himself alone.

While Cozy too was alone. It seems she had a hard time finding anyone willing to join her.

" Um Fuoco... I don't think my plan would work...."

 

Everyone pondered at what Blu suggested, except Cozy; She was extremely worried, as she knows a bit on how Blu's mind works.

Blu paused, looking back with a raised eyebrow, "I didn't think it was, it would have shattered under its own weight by now if it were. But even it it's made of steel one or more of those pillars are hollow to allow access to the structure above, and that is an exploitable weakness. With the weight above we wouldn't even need to fully break the pillar, a cut across it would be enough to bring the castle down."

With that he would head out, presumably to rest for the battle in the morning.

Cozy was still worried, but did not wish too push her thoughts on the matter to her master. She wouldn't like to ruin the mood of the only pony who acknowledges her, plus he needs his rest.

She whimpers silently at the corner as she bids Blu good night.

 She'd agree and bow defeated. 

" I'm sorry i could not be of help for you today." To her She had failed fuoco and Blu, and have not met their expectations.

 

The Blitz's team would fly and quickly charge at the castle,

While kuya vanishes into the night.

Blitz's team met with few resistance and seems that there are but a few flying creatures blocking their way; mostly small fries. They slowly but surely got closer to the castle without alarming any as the amount of flying creatures guarding the castle were still but few.

On Kuya's side, who knows? It's hard to tell if he was even there.

Blitz team has now perched on the castle, The crystal is in view.

But a trap all along.

A giant infected Gryphon would land just above the team.

It was two stories high; too high for any gryphon to be.

It screeches and deafens anyone close to it. This caused panic to Blitz's team and caused chaos on the battlefield, as the screech attracted alot of unneeded attention.

Blitz was unsure if to abort the mission or not; but the crystal was right infront of them.

As Fuoco watches the event, before she could make a move, a tremble and an explosion could be heard beneath them. And it seems panic is ensuing within their boarders.

" lady fuoco, we've been breached!" The guard who rushed in said to them.

"Don't worry Fuoco, this was expected. Focus on the assault, we can handle this." Fuoco and Gruite Ale quickly shuffled towards the guard who quickly assisted them where to go.

But before leaving, Diamond Tiara would give Cozy Glow a pat at the back and gave her a smile.

As they left, Cozy had an awkward smile and her troubles seems to have left her alone for now.

" to think we were supposed to be the same age...." she mumbled.
