I've checked the game you've mentioned, and, assuming I was looking at the right thing, it reminded me of Love Live! (RIP). I haven't played Love Live! myself, but my sister really liked that game.

I've released a somewhat experimental update (v1.1.2), in which I added an option to adjust the falling speed of the notes, you can find it in the layout options:

The default speed is x1.9 soooo yeah, you can make these even faster as well.

This will only affect the notes visually. The exact timing required for perfects/goods remains the same, regardless of the speed (the hits are based on time itself, rather than what's on screen). Therefore, slowing these down technically doesn't make the game any easier, it just may help with readability and player's reaction speed.

Personally, while doing 100% on normal speed isn't a problem for me, I'm actually having a bad time at slower speed.  At slower speed the screen gets too flooded for my preferences, and short sliders get quite sneaky, but hopefully everyone will find their own preferred speed. I've noticed the "Flat" perspective works better at slower speeds, so feel free to toy around.

 

That's just one step towards fixing the high difficulty issue, I'll be working on easier variants of the maps next time. I have to go to sleep now. 

I checked out Love Live! and it does sound pretty similar with the idol thing and being a rhythm game. And the speed thing sounds great. Slower speeds really do flood the screen, regardless of the game, and actually makes it harder in my opinion, haha. It's cool you're trying out adding new speeds and I think the normal speed is pretty good. I find it a bit slow, but for people new to rhythm games, I think it's perfect. Good to know that the "flat" perspective works better with slower speeds; personally I prefer the default, curved one since it's similar to enstars, but I think I'll try out the "flat" one if I want to torture myself with a super slow speed for fun. I'm pretty impressed with the game as is since I really can't piece together how you'd do it; the fact that notes can fall at different speeds but the song itself doesn't speed up always trips me up for some reason haha.

Yeah, once you get the hang of it, faster speeds make it better.  If the default speed is too slow for you, you can actually bump it up now!  I hope everyone can find the speed they feel better with, so feel free to experiment.

• uses only 4 cutie marks (the outer ones don't have any notes)
• parts, where hands had different patterns were simplified to use one hand or share single path instead
• linked notes (where you have to press two at the same time) appear rarely, and they always are synchronized (both hands have the same, but mirrored patterns)

If someone would be so kind to give the game an another try, please let me know how do you feel about the difficulty in "Easy" mode. Making it too easy won't pose any challenge even to beginners, so I'd like to hit that balance, where it is not hard thus painful, but not too easy thus cheap either. If you can't perform well in the first tries, this is perfectly understandable and there's no need to feel down - a little bit of practice and trying few times is what it all is about.

If there's something particular, that makes it too difficult, let me know.

I'll add easier difficulties for the other songs later, because it's 7:20 AM and I need to go to sleep.

The easy mode felt a lot more manageable! It still felt challenging, yet doable. This was my first try on easy but after several tries on the normal difficulty - so not truly accurate for a person playing it for the first time 

Was definitely a way more enjoyable experience.

I have completed it, hopefully this is enough to qualify! I wasn't sure if easy mode on "Shine Like Rainbows" counted towards the badge so I decided to play it on normal. Also this is my very first rythm game that I can recall ever playing! I didn't do well, and my brain was overloaded, but it was still fun!

But uh, Rocky, I'm afraid I'll have to trouble you to play again, because your photos didn't capture your UID in the bottom-right corner.  There should be three things visible on the photos:

1. Song Title
2. Completion Rate
3. UID

I suppose I could turn a blind eye on this for you, but I see you were playing on normal difficulty, and I'd be happy if you could try out the easier difficulties I've added. It would help me adjust the difficulties in the future. 

If you'd be so kind to give it an another try, you can switch the song difficulty by tapping them on the song list:

You can also press left/right arrows on your keyboard to swap difficulties.

Also, if you haven't noticed it earlier, you can slow down the notes in options:

Just drag it down all the way to the left.

Nice, I see it helped you gain a better score, so that's great!  I'm wondering if I should drop the difficulty even further, but I'd need more ponies to try it out, so that I could get a better idea at which parts are too hard.  

If I'll ever release new songs, I'll be including the easier difficulties for them as well from now on, so yeah, thank you for feedback! 

Oh and also, you haven't submitted "Welcome to the Show" yet. I just added an easier difficulty for this song too (I think it turned out to be easier than Shine Like Rainbows), so I encourage you to give it a try and share your results to get the badge!

That's more than enough, great!  Yes, lower difficulty counts as well - I added "Easy" modes for all songs now, and thus, updated the rules in the OP to mention, that any difficulty is accepted.

If you haven't played games like that before, then it's understandable it all will look confusing ~ I admit the normal difficulties are actually somewhat hard, even for skilled in that genre players, so they aren't too friendly for inexperienced players.

Perhaps try the easier modes and let me know how hard are they?  It's totally okay if you had enough tho!

Oh it's totally okay Rocky. From one point of view it's not bad, because I'd be happy if you could try out the easier difficulties, like I've mentioned earlier. It'll be a valuable feedback for me.

Added "Easy" difficulties for "Welcome to the Show" and "Winter Wrap Up", so now all songs have easier modes.

Due to the new easier mode becoming available, and taking recent occasional forum downtimes into consideration, I've decided to extend the duration of the event by one week.

I hope the easier modes will allow inexperienced players to have more fun.
