Hmm, if it shows keyboard keys, then perhaps steam deck assigns keyboard keys into some buttons, to help with navigation? Hmm if I had this majestic device I'd check it out

I like all the new changes you put in this time @Rikifive. Difficulty being a global setting is nice. Being able to adjust the UI probably helps a lot, but I like the original look best.  And of course that sound effect for setting a new record is a very nice touch. I kinda want to reset my saves so I can hear the game tell me "new best" again.

The Magic of Friendship Grows was quite nice. It had some tricky parts and had me working on it for quite a while. This being one of the songs I'm not sure I've listened to before, it took me a while to get used to the notes accompanying the dialogue. Very satisfying once I completed it.

Rules of Rarity was definitely super fun. The beginning is quite exciting, and the rest of the song keeps that energy going. I can't play this one without tapping my foot along with the music.  This is definitely my favorite one so far. Favorite of these songs and favorite to play. Very well done on this one!

I'm surprised how well my fingers remember Shine Like Rainbows. I remember that taking me a long time the first time around, but it came back to me pretty quick.

Welcome to the Show took me a bit to get the hang of again too. It's not all that hard, but having that tricky bit right at the very end can be frustrating, especially when you do the rest of the song perfect only to miss one of the last notes again and again. That's not a complaint though, it's still a very fun song.

I still quite enjoy going back to Winter Wrap Up again, even if this is its third time around. It's a classic and still very fun to play. Am I crazy or did it used to have an option to have the video playing in the background on that song? I understand having the video in there probably had to go as more songs were added, but am I correct that that used to be a thing?

Rules of Rarity is definitely a rather unique song compared to others, I had some dilemmas while mapping it.

Even though Winter wrap up and The magic of frienship grows have a special emotional place in my heart, I must say Rules of Rarity has been the most fun to play. The start is frustrating the first 20 times I played it, but then became my favourite part when I realized how to play it.

 

I still have time to get better

Winter Wrap Up has a sweet spot for me too, it was the first FiM song I've heard, and the first FiM episode I have ever watched.  The Magic of Friendship Grows though, heh, I still haven't watched two last seasons. 

Anyway, these are decent scores! Yeah it becomes more satisfying the better you get.

I played osu years ago. 

Not good? There are pretty decent scores if you ask me. I'm sure you could go pretty crazy with scores with enough attempts.

i am laughably incompetent when it comes to rhythm games like this :333 osu and the like are basically "try once and never again" games for me ^^'

HOWEVER

As for the next song, I went into it thinking, "yeah i can do this, no problem, i did the rarity one @w@"

as far as rhythm games go (haven't tried many but the ones i did play were meh) i actually enjoyed it ^~^ maybe it was the affection i have for pony-related things that gave it a rose tint, but even so, if it's an exploited weakness of mine then i do not mind that it was exploited. fun time!

Oh come on! These are actually pretty decent scores!   Especially as for first/few attempts. There's definitely potential, totally far from "laughably incompetent"!  To be honest I'm not great at rhythm games myself, and while I enjoy these games occasionally, I can't say it's my type of games, so yeah, I get 'ya.

i'm so glad you liked the video! and thank you, i'm glad i do well at making videos lol. and i am pretty observant sometimes, be it the Autism or ADHD lol. and of course i enjoy the game, it's SO much fun but weirdly, my browser keeps dropping the sound in the middle of the songs i wanna play the songs way more than i did in the video, but the game won't let me... i even close out the browser and re-open it and relaunch the game, but even that doesn't help

Yeah, this unfortunately happens, it's not your browser. Does it happen when you load the game for the first time, or have you tried to load the game multiple times in a short time? MLPF server refuses to provide music files when requested more often than it would like, I guess the audio files are just too heavy. 

If it is really problematic on your end, you could try the other version of the game. At the bottom of the game page I added a link to it. That version of the game is exactly the same, except it uses a different, compressed audio format, which is much lighter. These files don't seem to trigger these security measures, and were loading fine for me even when I was spamming the loading screen.

That format isn't as widely supported by browsers though, I've been told it doesn't work on mac at all. So, unless you're on mac, perhaps try the other version and see how it works.  

 

Perhaps later, I may add a toggle button on the main game page to let players switch between different formats until finding one that works best.
