As his attention was divided from the sky, the racers, the audience, as well as Starlight and Pinkie. Dynamo had to admit that he was at a loss. He really wanted to let the race happen, but he didn't want to jeopardize the racer's. Even he had to admit, seeing the state of how everything was in now, it looked like the race would be cancelled, or at the very least, postponed. Just as he was about to make the call, Dynamo was stopped as he saw a blue dot in the sky. At first, he thought it was the sky beginning to clear up, but upon closer inspection, he saw that it was Rainbow Dash! He had actually wondered where Rainbow was as he was hoping to ask her for an update on the weather. As she landed upon the stage, he had a concerned look on his face as she was slip sliding. 'I guess the stage is a little more slippery than I thought with how it's been raining. Got to make sure to be careful of that for everyone that does walk on stage.' He thought to himself to make a mental note as the rainbow maned pegasus made her way over towards him.

"Rainbow! I'm glad that you're here. I was about to ask for an update on the weather, but it looks like the rain beat us to it." He says, feeling concerned and hoped that there would be any good news. Upon listening to her updated weather report, Dynamo was still torn, but he felt a sense of hope from the news. He pondered in the rain, before coming to a decision. 'I really hope I don't regret this decision.' He thought, before taking a shaky breath. "Attention, everypony! To those in the audience, please don't adjust your seats. To those that are participating, please make your way over to the starting line. I know this might sound like an odd announcement, but I was just given word that it will be raining for a short time, but it will clear up shortly. So, the race is still a go!" He announced, hoping that the report was true. "Just as a reminder, I want you all to know that flying isn't allowed in the race. However, gliding is still allowed. Along with some magic in the off chance that you need to light the way or in need of defending yourself." He explained, while a vendor was opening up for rain hats, jackets and boots for audience members to wear. It would also be available for racer's that wanted to keep the rain out of their face.

@Silverspark184 @PrincessPriscillaPT @Samurai Equine @Nitobit @Wizard @Livealarm @ComanderZhabikKlavik @Iridescent Edge @SidewinderX @liujiadong @Nook Cranny @Dusk Haven

As he looked at the racer's to double check if any question were needed to be asked, he noticed that everyone was either stretching or taking their spot on the starting line. With a nod, he levitated a green flag over towards him. "With all that being said, I want to wish you all good luck! Even though this is a race, the most important thing is to have fun!" Dynamo exclaimed, raising the flag in preparation to begin the competition, while having a determined expression upon his face.

"Now then, ON YOUR MARK!"

...

"GET SET!!"

...

There was a momentary silence as everyone waited with baited breath for the race to begin. The only sound accompanying that silence was the pitter patter of the falling rain hitting the ground. Widening his eyes slightly, the gaming unicorn brought down the flag as the time had come to begin.

"GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"

Dynamo exclaimed, waving the flag to signal the racers that they could start running. The Running of the Leaves has truly begun!

Obstacle Number 1:

The start of the run. The area is muddy, slippery, and crowded from ponies running around. The first problem is finding a way to begin the race without tripping and falling right at the start.

Next obstacle on September 15th

Roswell starts the race fast, keeping up with the other ponies and nagivating through the muddy area by jumping off the ground and bucking the trees as he's running.

"Nice" he says to himself.

Brightspark was steering the sled while Silver held a good-quality, applewood baseball bat. Silver smacked the trees at just the right spots, causing the leaves to fall.

Silver called out. "Bright, steer to the right," she looked at her before continuing, "Make sure there’s no one in front or behind so no pony gets run over!" She kept her balance  opening her wings for balance and her tail kept her upright

Brightspark:Silverspark's twin sister only by two seconds unlike Silver she is

not as adventurous as her Mishivous sister but just as much of a prankster  just like Silver who love painting she love to sing plant flowers

she has a silver blue coat and  violetblue mane with violet blue wing tips and wears a pink and purple vest and violet blue eyes just like her sister and mother

She remembered waking up she too felt frightened and scared but unlike Silver she started asking questions and on what happened she has the same ability as her sister but she shared a special kind of power only these will learn later on

Samurai watches Dynamo go up to give the starting speech, paying close attention to the map.

What he doesn't notice is Moushley crawling off his back and running up to Dynamo. Once up close, she squeaks at him, as if trying to talk to him.

As the race begins, Dynamo watched as everyone that had taken part started their run. All the while, trying to get past the muddy ground that made some competitors slip and slide. "Good luck, everypony. Remember to give it all you've got and give it your best." He spoke to himself, before sighing softly. He hoped that everyone would be okay, but he wondered if the rain would clear up soon. All the while, wondering how it started raining to begin with. As he watched the other racers, he didn't notice another presence on his back. It was only when he heard the squeaks, did his ears perk up as his eyes glanced over towards the source. As he saw a little mouse, he nearly jumped as he didn't expect the little creature, but tried to take a breath to calm himself from a near scare. "Hello, there. Are you lost? How did you get to Ponyville, or are you from Ponyville?" He asks, hearing the squeaks and wondered what the little mouse was trying to say.

Obstacle Number 2

As the road becomes less slippery, the runners soon see a river in front of them. There are makeshift barriers made out of sticks and ropes stretching along the banks, that show where you can safely enter and exit water to avoid patches of swampy earth and tall grass. Their placement suggests that the participants have to go through knee-deep water and go against the current, before coming out on the opposite bank. However, the rain made the current much stronger than it usually is.

Next obstacle on September 22nd.

However, the rain made the current much stronger than it usually is.

As the river comes into view, she notes the marked crossings—safe enough in fair weather, but swollen now from rain. The current claws at the banks, stronger than usual, dangerous to charge in without thought.

She pauses, listening as she always has to the wilds. The river speaks in patterns: leaves and twigs drifting in gentle arcs where the pull is weakest. Instead of fighting, she steps diagonally into the flow, hooves finding rhythm with the water’s push. Her wings remain furled, but spread just enough as counterweights, steadying her as though she were dancing with the current itself.

The water is still a comfortable temperature as the autumn air has not yet laid its kiss upon it too deeply. She lifts her tail a bit to prevent it from getting drenched all over again. When she reaches the bank, she shakes herself off, water droplets flying everywhere.

From the other side of the bank, she spots others who may struggle. With a sharp tug, she frees a length of rope, catches it in her teeth, and casts it with a flick of magic. “If you need a hoof, grab hold and follow my lead! Step diagonal, not against it—the river will take less from you that way. You'll need your energy!”

Yes, it's a race, and of course, she wants to buck the most leaves, but the fierceness of competition need not be such as to leave others to hazards just for a win. She plants the rope in a now repositioned stake, leaving it for those who want it, or to be disregarded for those who want to find their own method. She does offer a wink @Samurai Equine and calls out playfully: "Ever see a princess do that?!" She giggles to herself and trots off, finding a massive tree with lots of leaves, and giving it two swift kicks. Dusk spins around blissfully as they fall delicately around her. She takes a deep breath, the scents of fall, rain, and river filling her nostrils. Her blue eyes cast themselves on the path ahead, and her hooves carry her forward to the other trees and any obstacles that may arise.

*"Ooh, I should slow down a bit on that part. I'll save my energy until I'm out of the water." Priscilla strategized again, slowing her down a bit will help incase she fell down and regaining her energy for the next obstacle. She then remembers the pattern from the previous races as a spectator.*

Moonlight approaches the river and sits on the bank, letting Titanium get off. He observes Dusk Haven as she reaches the other side with seemingly no problem. "Can't be that hard," he thinks.

He steps into water, and almost gets swept off his hooves by the current. His boots are just barely high enough to prevent water from flowing in. He tries to step after the alicorn, ignoring the rope, but his smaller stature makes moving harder.

"Come on, just a little further." After a good couple minutes of struggling, his hoof slips on something not visible beneath the surface. He yelps as he falls into water, rapid current pulling him back, undoing his progress. It takes him just a moment to reorient himself and lie on his back, but he can't stop moving, like on a huge waterside.

"Heeelp! Oh, sorry. Sorry! Heelp! Sorry..." Moonlight now becomes a part of the obstacle himself, bumping into ponies, making them lose their balance, until somepony can stop him.

Dusk looked over @Samurai Equine and stuck her tongue out like she had tasted something awful. "Oh no, not me. I avoided royal status all my life. I reluctantly accepted the title of "Princess Consort" out of tradition when I married, but that's not the same as "Princess". Before all that, I moved about the world cloaked in a glamour spell that allowed me to pass as a Unicorn so I could help ponies without them thinking I was a Princess because of my species. I'm Dusk Haven, but my friends call me Dusk. What's your name?"

She nearly tripped over a rock she hadn't seen while talking to the pony by her. She pivoted to the side, kicked up a mix of dirt and mud before stabilizing. She moved over to another tree and gave it a hard shake with her front hooves before continuing forward.

Samurai nods, impressed at her story. However, upon hearing her ask that question, a spark shines in Samurai's eyes and he smirks. He runs ahead just a little bit so that he can stand upright and strike a fighting pose.

"The official warrior authorized by divine providence! The fire soldier! Samurai Equine is here!' Samurai makes a very flashy introduction! So flashy, he almost trips on some mud, and has to go back to running on all four hooves. "Well, it works better when I'm not running in the rain." Samurai explains with an awkward nod.

Moushley somehow pulls out a package of candy and gives it to Dynamo. Each candy piece is shaped like something a gamer would enjoy.

As she makes herself comfortable, she points at the race and excitedly squeaks about it, as if trying to making racing commentary on it.

Samurai stops when he comes to the river bank, hesitating.

He notices what Dusk is doing and whistles. "Way to go! Clearly no one should underestimate you."

After that, Samurai considers the rope she left. He then looks back at his flame-lit hooves. "...Can't use that. It would snap the rope and make it unavailable for other racers. Water is my ultimate weakness. Is this really how the race ends for me?" Samurai thinks to himself while considering all options.

Dusk covers a giggle as the pesky mud nearly disrupted his flourish. She bowed her head enough to show respect, but not enough to lose sight of the trail again. "A few centuries ago, you would have been referred to as a warrior of the Old Code, a very noble group of ponies who were beyond reproach in their skill, loyalty, and honor. Well met, Samurai Equine. It is an honor indeed!

Dusk turned at the sound of @Samurai Equine words, only to see ponies stumbling as the current surged. Her breath caught. He had saved Moonlight, but what of the others now slipping toward the river’s pull? She stopped so abruptly that mud and leaves sprayed into the air, then tore back toward the bank at a gallop. Reaching the edge, she raced upstream and thrust one wing into the torrent. The impact made her grunt and wince, but she dug her hooves into the earth and held fast. The great span of her feathers carved a calmer channel, a wing’s breadth of safety for the ponies nearest the water’s edge. She glanced up to see @PrincessPriscillaPT also offering aid. Dusk sighed. She thought the rope would have been enough. She chided herself for not hanging back in case things went wrong.

*Iridescent Edge suddenly comes to a stop when he sees the rushing river. He cautiously puts one hoof in and nearly slips on the wet rock. He looks up again and sees two Alicorns trying to block the current with their wings while the other contestants push through the current. Iridescent steps another hoof in, careful not to slip on any rocks this time. He takes another step, then another, hooves shaking with each one. Until, he eventually climbs his way to the other side. Unfortunately, Iridescent’s back hoof slips on a rock and his face falls in the mud. He then gets up and takes a moment to catch his breath before running to the next tree.*

Silverspark, seeing a river up ahead, noticed others in front of her. Brightspark observed how fast the current was flowing, and the two of them stopped the sled just in time before reaching the bank. Brightspark took her bat to measure the water depth. "It's knee-deep for an older pony," she said. "We might have to try swimming across, but with this current..." She watched as the others struggled a bit, but they had a rope to help keep everyone afloat. Still, she looked across to see how far it was.

Brightspark glanced at Silverspark and asked, "You’re not planning to jump across, are you?"

Silverspark looked back and replied, "Well, it’s not that far. "she said

Brightspark is looking at her. "Silver, I don't think we are supposed to jump across, and besides, one wrong move you could miss and you'd be finding the waterfall, "she looked worried

Silverspark, looking back, sighs, "And I guess borrowing @Pinkie Pie's party cannon is out too ?" she asked

The two were having a conversation  on what to do in this situation

As Dusk saw the majority of ponies had made it safely across, she took her wing out and allowed the water to continue its rushing flow. She stretched out the wing, folding it in and out. She certainly wouldn't be flying for a few days unless there was an emergency. She noticed that @Silverspark184 and her companion was discussing their options. Though she had seen their cleverness with the sled to fight the mud, she figured there was no harm in asking if they needed help. She thinks she overheard at least one of their names.

"Silverspark! Do you need assistance? The river is angry today! I'd be happy to lend a hoof if you like!

*After Shiny gratefully accepted the candy bar offered by Moushley, who is certainly not a reference to an horror game, her fruit bat pet, Socrate, flew out from the bush. He was attired of his cute bowtie. The fruit bat landed on the mare's shoulder, before shaking the rain off his fur like a drenched dog would.*

*He then began to make adorable eyes to her, as if begging for something.*

"Alright, alright! I'll share with you, Socrate." *Shiny said to him, while breaking the candy bar in two to give one half to her pet.*

*When Socrate was about to eat his half of the candy bar, he was suddenly stopped by a sight of pure beauty. His eyes had caught the little mouse running away, his vision immediately turning pink and the time seeming to slow down. It might have been the Running of the Leaves but his heart was racing for an entirely different reason, in his ribcage. In addition, his eyes became heart-shaped and he dropped the piece of candy bar into the mud.*

"Socrate? Ummm... You okay, buddy? You left your half of the candy bar fall..." *The unicorn asked him, slightly worried.*

*Without taking care of Shiny, he quickly flew in the direction of Moushley.*

*Iridescent had noticed how @Shiny Silvermoon’s bat had ran off, and after a moment of hesitation, he walked up to her.* “Uh, excuse me, but…was that your pet that just ran away?” *Iridescent points his hoof in the direction that Socrate disappeared into.*

"Yeah... It was my pet. His name is Socrate and I'm Shiny Silvermoon." *She informed @Iridescent Edge, still confused by what just happened. She quickly teared her attention from it to focus on the stallion.*

"However, many call me THE CROISSANT LORD!!!" *At this moment, a lightning struck afar, because of the storm going on. It gave a dramatic tone to her title.*

The Spark Twins looked up from their conversation at a pony named @Dusk Haven, who offered a hoof to help them across. "Yes, please! We really don't want to meet the waterfall in case the rule forbids flying."Said Silverspark with Bright at her side

Moushley was just happily scurrying along at a leisurely pace, the biggest smile on her face. She looks over to see if Shiny is following her or not, only to be scared at the sight of a large bat!! In her eyes, she sees a predator looking for a snack. She quickly turns and runs away as fast as she can, squeaking loudly in a way that totally doesn't sound like someone saying 'Leon! Leon!'. (Or in this case, maybe 'Dyna! Dyna!'). It won't be long before @Dynamo Pad Dynamo is caught in the middle between a scared mouse running from a love-struck bat; like a scene straight out of Pepé Le Pew.

Dusk nodded sharply. “Stay there—I’m coming!”

She stepped back into the river, hooves finding the rhythm she had already mapped, ears tilted to the song of the current. The water tugged at her legs, urging her downstream, but she leaned into the flow, listening for its subtle swirls and eddies. A sudden crack against her withers jolted her—driftwood spun out of the storm surge, glancing off her side. She hissed, brushing the sore spot with a wing, but pressed forward, more cautious now, until the far bank rose before her.

She shook the spray from her feathers and lowered her head to them. “Alright, little ones. If you’re ready, climb on my back. Hold tight to my mane, and don’t let go. The water may only reach my knees, but this current could sweep a pony downstream faster than you’d believe if a surge hits.”

She noted their sled and thought back on all the times she had watched this event. Magic was forbidden unless it was subtle. She knew that, but what if magic was used to bring a sled across that she was not going to use personally to give her an individual boon for her part in the competition? Maybe a technicality? She was sure she would find out soon enough with @Dynamo Padlooking on. She shrugged her shoulders and figured she would take the chance, even if it cost her some leaf points. "I can take your sled across in my magic if you need it."

Sunshine looked around, feeling her surroundings with her heart. Water flowed beside her hooves, a gentle breeze brushed past her ears, and rain slid from her face down to her neck—everything felt so familiar, and memories flooded back.

It was here that she’d met Taylor Swift. Taylor had taught her to sing here. “Your voice is beautiful,” Taylor had said. “Have you ever tried singing?”

“No,” she’d replied shakily, her heart racing with excitement at meeting Taylor Swift. Taylor had taught her with such care, and she’d known exactly what she was doing.

As she finished recalling the sweet memory, tears came unbidden. She hadn’t seen Taylor in so long.

“I see.” Iridescent Edge pauses momentarily, his hoof idly dragging small circles in the mud. “My name’s Iridescent Edge. Would you like me to help you find your pet?”
