Non-portable, definitely the PC. Widest variety of games, optional easy to install mods, ability to watch videos while gaming, superior key mapping (and if you don't like it you can always connect a joypad, and as for gimmicky controls like kinnect... don't really care enough to miss it!). There's not a single thing to dislike about a gaming PC.

Portable though I'd go with the NDS lite, mostly optional touch screen, good backlighting, generally good button mapping, stable multiplayer (in my experience) and a nice list of titles to it's name. (I prefer it over the 3DS because occasionally I like to go retro with GBA games, and some of the DS games I play have extra content that is unlocked by having a prequel in the GBA slot.)

Seeing as DS lite isn't in the poll though... I'll vote for PC eventhough I prefer portable consoles to non-portables because of my constant desire to pace around while I play and my fortune to have friends with the same systems and games.

The computer.

The Wii is good, but not quite good enough...

I own a DS Lite, but sadly, it's not up there.

However, when this comes out for the Wii U... I believe we may have a new winner. Watch the whole video and you will see why.

I believe the Wii U has a lot of potential, but I also believe that, like the DS, that potential won't be fully reached until a year or so into its lifespan.

So far I'm having the same problem with it's titles as with the regular Wii and the early DS titles, where the new controls are only used for gimmicky and fragile (by that I mean easily glitched and gimped) stuff that mainly belongs in a party game or perhaps an optional section of the game. Holding your controller in a certain way works fine when you only have to do it once every few hours or when you're with friends, but it really bugs down the pacing of the game when you're just trying to get through a section and you have to pull out "obligatory dowsing item #3" five times to find some otherwise invisible keys.

But I have faith in Nintendo, I believe later titles might become some of the best games ever made.

Hm... None of the above. The Wii was a horribly underwhelming console that relied too much on gimmicks and too little on actually improving upon games in meaningful ways. The 3DS has underwhelmed me so far as well. And I don't own an PS3 or 360. The PC, well, I don't play it much. I don't have the money to make my PC a gaming PC. Nor do I have any real reason to. The only thing I really play is The Sims. Not much else out there for me.

Speaking of which the attitude of many PC gamers' is really starting to get on my nerve.

It varies depending on the game for me, but PC is starting to take over everything in my mind. I like the consoles because they have split-screen, which is great if you have friends over and they don't have a good computer and want to play games, but I think i get more enjoyment out of games on the PC. I would still rather play games like Sonic the Hedgehog or fighting games on a console at the moment.

Hey, it's not our fault PCs are better than consoles ;)

Anyway, PC and DS lite.

And I'm still rocking' a PS2. Tons of amazing RPGs on the PS2.

Best platform?

All of them!

Each of them for their unique features and libraries.

Agreed, and also Xbox fans get on my nerves sometimes as well.

I'm curious, what exactly do you mean?

You need not look too far from this topic.

It's all about arrogance. The consoles sure sure have their horribly annoying fans themselves (console wars are so stupid and irrational.), but it seems like every time I see somebody mention that they prefer PC they have to be really smug about it and how their 'console' is so much better than the rest, and objectively so.

The PC sure has its advantages (easily available modding). However, it also has its downsides. Like pricing. Since I enjoy Nintendo's franchises, which can not be found on the PC (nobody make any remarks about illegal methods because you're missing my point), so I have to have Nintendo's consoles. So PC alone could never satisfy me. And that's quite an expense.

The PC has so little of interest to me that honestly, if it weren't connected to the computer, which I have for other reasons, I would have absolutely no incentive to have one. Even with all of the advantages. And still, it frustrates me, you spend all of that money on a PC, and it still can't properly run today's games. It's so frustrating. At least when I buy a console it plays all of the games for it. I know I won't have to worry about 'upgrading' to the next generation console for several years.

*Chuckle*

I kind of agree with you on every single point, especially the last one.

I should make it clear that I might have been talking about a proper gaming PC, but my PC is by no means optimal for gaming, still it works for the few games I do play on it, and it's mostly my attention span problems combined with the PCs ability to do a lot of crap at the same time that wins me over.

Again, I prefer portables, and of those Nintendo takes the cake by a landslide.

I'm not sure why I went into so much detail with this, I guess I just wanted to iterate that I'm not a "PC gamer" (or any kind of "gamer" for that part) I like all "console" platforms, I just think the PC is most suitable for my gaming style.
