Murphy shook his head at Blaze, he stare right back him. "We got ambushed and if you were there. They might of taken you as well. If that were to happened, we might be toys for that general."

 

"We've been though a whole lot since we first meet in Ponyville. Drunk fights, fighting a general. I had to deal with Deava going demon mode and being blind for an hour. Almost kissed by a stallion. Been stuck with in dungeon. Your aunt and your powers..." Carrick looked at the skies for a second before turning back to Blaze.

 

"We don't have time to feel sorry for ourselves, to feel this guilt. Not, because it's an emotion, but we have duty to not let them shake us. We need our attention for this! We need everypony to be ready, because we're the only ones who can and will do it. Only a few ponies know what we are doing. Others just speculate with whispers and rumors. We might not even get any glory for what we do. We don't do it for that. At least not myself. We do it for the sakes of everypony. Every damn pony who wants to be somepony! To live their lives happy and with enjoyment."

 

"We aren't the elements of harmony. We aren't the prototypical heroes. We're the other ponies! and we'll be winning this case. Once and for all" Carrick wonder if what he said was truthful. Was he even listening to his silver tongue as well? He always saw himself as pony that pushed emotions away and to think rationally. To enjoy the case and mystery of it all. Now, what does all of this mean? Carrick didn't care at this point. Now wasn't a time for self-reflection. It was a time to push forward.

Snow simply gave a nod to Hypno. She was going with Hypno once again. A good friend, a pony who helped her. Even if it was to help this Carrick Murphy. She dislike the earth pony, but decide to cast her anger aside so there wouldn't be any arguments. She didn't know what would happened if she attacked Murphy. Would Hypno stop her?

Hypno looked back into the house "Alright, everypony, lest roll out" He said as he waited a few seconds for everypony to get out of the house. Magic stayed back, since he was the house keeper.

 

"Although trasporta-" Hypno was cut off when Midnight stopped him. "Say no more, i have already got you covered" He said as he pridefully took the lead of the group and lead them to an armored like train stationed in the outskirts of Canterlot. Inside were dozens of bat-pony soldiers at Midnight's command. "You really have outdone yourself this time, Middy" Shadow muttered.

"As usual, you are right Carrick Murphey. And when this is all said and done, I still owe you that drink. I look forward to creating a future where everypony can live in happiness, and above all else, a future where we can get that damn drink!" Blaze joked but was somewhat serious. "So what do we do now, I felt your MP wave enter the police station, I am assuming it was to contact Hypno right?" Blaze asked.

"Yes, a drink would be great after all of this." Carrick said as he laughed a bit. As Blaze went to ask his serious assumption, Carrick gave him a nod. "Yeah, it's good having detective status. We have some high class messengers and thanks to my status and the severity of the case. The messenger should of taken it care either now or real soon." Carrick explained.

 

"Hypno should be here very soon. However, time doesn't stop for anypony. We'll be heading out to Sugarcube Corner now. Let's get the others." Carrick said. Murphy turned back to Starbolt who seemed to be in her head. "You coming, Starbolt?"

Hypno and everyone boarded the train, there were a few parts of the train that were empty and for them. Fire, Shadow, and Clocks, sat in one. While Hypno entered another. Midnight went to the front of the train, while Shadow and Zigzag sat towards the back. Hypno seemed to be alone in his. He sighed and sat back to wait for Snow as he heard the train start to move.

 

Shadow closed his eyes and rested his head on the train, he looked rather fatigued and quite bothered to be in a train as he did so. His mind suddenly faded to a past memory.

It was at least five hundred years ago, on a routine guard transportation on a train. Shadow was a captain of the guard, but back then he was know as Storm, a master of lightning type magic. His colors were also different, he had regular blue eyes, a sky blue coat, and dark blue hair. He was suited up with light golden armor and a hooded cape, yet the hood was down.

 

Storm looked over to his partners. "We're getting very close to out destination, averaging at about fifteen minutes left." He said to them. Before looking out the window, he felt something displaced in the magical aura of the train, something was off, and rather dark. He kept his senses up and simply waited a few minutes.

 

There was a slightly loud bang at the top of the train, as if something had landed on it. Storm narrowed his eyes as one pony sighed and got up "I'll get it" the pony said jumping up and opening a hatch to the top of the train. He looked out for a few moments, and then was suddenly grabbed and pulled out of the train swiftly.

 

"What in the name of Cel-" Was all Storm got out before windows shattered and vamponies began to pour in like locusts. The majority of the guards screamed at they were viscously tackled and bitten by the vampires. Some were lucky enough to have time to grab their weapons and defend themselves for the seconds they had left until they were overwhelmed. Storm stabbed a few of them with his sword, and tried to fend others off with magic

 

The vamponies left the train abruptly out of the blue. The train suddenly shifted, and Storm began to feel weightless. He then realized the train had been derailed, and was free-falling a few feet to a crash. There was a loud crashing sound as the train collided with the ground in a mangled mess. Storm and the rest were banged up into the walls of the train as it rolled few times to a stop.

 

Storm staggered out of a broken window, bloodied, and bruised. "EVERYPONY I'LL TRY TO GET YOU OUT!" He hollered. He helped the remaining guards out of the train. and grouped them together. He looked defeated as he noticed there were only about fifteen feeble guards left, out of the large force of 70 that were on the train. "W-We are close to the town, we can m-make it, i promise you we'll make it out alive." He said softly to the remaining guards. "But we have to go now, before those creatures return."

 

Storm helped the guards to their feet, and walked towards the town as fast as he could. When they finally reached it, he looked relieved, but it quickly turned to a look of worry. The town seemed deserted, a real ghost town. He looked around with his small group, and noticed that there was blood all over most of the walls, and many houses seemed destroyed. The reality of the situation began to sink in. The vampires had already cleaned up the entire town. "Oh celestia... EVERYONE GET INSIDE A HOUSE NOW, RUN!" He yelled as he ran towards the closest building. Vampires began to appear, jumping from the rooftops and grabbed the closest guard before they could even react.

 

Storm was able to make it to a building with two others, he tried to block out the screams of his comrades that were left outside as he went to hold up the door. A mare who had made it with them was crying deeply, constantly muttering "I don't want to die" Storm was pained by this as he heard scratching on the door. He walked away from it, as a vampire broke it open. He quickly dispatched it with magic, but a few more poured in, grabbing one of them and running out. It was only Storm and the mare left of the large force of guards.

 

Storm sealed the door up with frost magic before running upstairs with the mare. He sat there in the somewhat silence. "I'm sorry, that this ended like this... it's my fault" He said "It's all my fault..." He was able to get out before vampires breached the door and got inside, Two instantly tackled the mare and began to bite into her neck, feeding off her blood as she was defenseless. Storm killed the two vampires with his magic, but it seemed too late for the mare. Another vampire tackled Storm, but he was able to stab it with his sword.

 

Another mare vampire walked in, this one more advanced looking than the rabid looking creatures he had fought. "The great captain Storm, brought to nothing in mere minutes, i find humor in it actually" She said. "Shut your mouth, foul beast" He replied with anger. He rushed the mare trying to stab her with his sword. The mare dodged with speed, grabbing his sword and biting into his neck. He tried to fight her off, but failed. The mare released him laughing as he fell back into another tiled room, bleeding profusely from his neck. He tried to scrabble away, but ran out of strength. He looked up as his vision began to blur for Storm. He coughed up blood a few times then stopped moving.

His vision then went black as he died.

Quickly frowns, "I have one thing wrong with your statement, Carrick." When he was acknoledged, he winked and said, "I have no idea what's wrong with kissing a stallion. Other than, of corse, it was infront of Starbolt."

 

Lyth was a little bit less focused on the speach, "Luna has often spoke of this Sugar Cube Corner. Is it still operational?" She looked hopeful.

Starbolt nodded. "Sure, I'll go." She replied to Carrick.

 

Sapphire sat on a seat in the train and stared out the window. She held on to her spear and continued to sharpen it.

 

Fae hovered by the back of the train. As instructed she brought Carrick's hat with her. She wondered if Starbolt was with Carrick.

 

Night Blade continued to wait for orders at his hideout.

A sealed letter with the royal stamp pressed into it's wax seal appeared in front of the mercenary. The letter read:

 

"Dear faithful pawn,

The terrorists known as Carrick Murphey and Blaze Phoenixtear are currently residing in Ponyville, please do all you can to apprehend them alive, I am repealing my last statement I sent you. You may kill them if things get out of hoof, but they are better use alive.

 

~Celestia"

The pegasus read the letter and nodded even though there was nopony with him. He packed several weapons and flew out the door headed towards Ponyville.

 

Starbolt waited for Carrick to head out to Sugarcube Corner.

 

Sapphire continued to sharpen her spear. The act calmed her.

Carrick walked his way back to Twilight's Treehouse. He needed to get Daeva since she was part of the group and one more pony would be more useful than just one less. Carrick saw her on the couch resting. Carrick took the notepad and wrote something down next to the couch. He didn't want to wake her up. The note read: Come to Sugarcube Corner. The detective got outside and started to walk to Sugarcube Corner. It was time to start investigating once more!

Quickly and Lyth followed the detective and found the way to the treehouse. Quickly rolled his eyes as the preistess oogled at it. He was beginning to think she hadn't had much of a childhood. Carrick came out and began to lead them to sugarcube corner. Quickly was a little irked at being ignored, but it was beginning to seem comonplace. Not even drunk Blaze really wanted to talk to him...

As much as Carrick didn't want to wake Daeva up, he did. She waited until he left and quietly took the note and started reading it. It clearly said "Come to Sugarcube Corner." in bold letters. She looked around to see if Blaze was still there, but he wasn't anywhere to be found. Daeva let out a huge sigh and headed over to Sugarcube Corner.

((OOC, I was rereading this rp, I got to around page 27 and stopped, there are a couple of things I forgot about storyline wise. For instance, Daeva lost her purple amulet filled with Demon blood (probably stolen by Ice Star but was never explained), and Daeva got a runic tattoo on her hoof that can make her invisible. Just some things to think about so we don't leave plot holes))

 

Blaze walked along side Carrick as they went to sugarcube corner. The smell of sweets overtook his senses and sent him into a state of hunger. "Um... Carick... Do you think we could get something to eat while we are here?" Blaze asked sheepishly as if his question was completely foolish since they were working a case.

(( Well, Ice Star has various artifacts, all of it will go into the story, don't worry. Plus, good luck rereading this roleplay. It's like how Dawnpath did it, but probably doubled or more by now. ))

 

Carrick chuckled when Blaze said that, he could smell the sweets as well, however it wasn't fresh...there was something off. Carrick opened the door of Sugarcube corner to see nopony there. Carrick blinked and became cautious. "Quick, can you check the perimeter? " Carrick asked with a bit of cautious. There was nopony here, but something was wrong...that's for sure.

Quickly nodded his agreement, but Lyth was confused, "Sweets? What are these sweets? Are they like the cakes? Or the cookies? I like the cookies. Quickly, can we get cookies?"

 

"Priestess, when did I become your sponsor?" He grumbles.

 

"Since you became the only follower of Luna in this... Squad? Except maybe Blaze; he has the knowledge of the Eternal Night."

After Blaze realized Carrick was in detective mode, Blaze figured his hunger would have to wait. Plus, he was getting weird MP wave readings.

 

"Uh Carrick? Something is messing with my MP wave sense. I know it has just recently started to heal. But I am getting a really weird interference" Blaze said.

(Actually it's more than 5 times the size of when I did it. It would take me 5 days at the rate I did it before)

 

Quickly saluted and bolted off, saying, "Lyth is yours now then." He perched on the roof, scanning the perimeter with his crossbow taught. Lyth watched him and sighed, "I can make sure the Temple of Luna reimburses you Carrick Murphy for any expenses you must pay. Quickly seems anxious to ignore one of the commandments; 'Help thy neighbor, even if it is in the dead of Luna's night."

Weird interference with MP wave sense? Could that mean somepony is screwing with it or something else? Carrick rubbed his chin. He nodded at what Lyth said. "That's fine and all." Carrick seem to said distracted. "Blaze, can you find out where the interference is or maybe where it's the most strong?" If somepony is screwing with that. It was probably Ice Star. Question is....is he here?

((Yeah, well there are a lot of characters that will NOT be making an appearance in the fanfic, and that includes ponyborn and possibly thunder. I don't want any plot holes, so I will not be introducing any *missing characters. And also if made into fanfic form, Carrick would have more roles since he has to take on the duties the written out characters fulfilled during their time of role playing. Also, I was thinking of making Blaze a unicorn, I heard alicorns were frowned upon in fanfics))

 

"Hmm? Oh, well, it seems like the interference is coming from the second floor of this building." Blaze said "Maybe we should be careful though" Blaze said not knowing what to expect.

Midnight looked forward from the front of the train. Any minute now, He thought Ponyville will come into view shortly. He continued to watch, knowing there we're at least halfway to Ponyville by now.

 

Hypno sat some more at his part of the train with nothing to do. His mood slowly started to shift once more as he just waited for them to reach their destination.

Carrick gave a nod at Blaze. Upstairs, interesting. Carrick went to the stairs and slowly got up. The detective looked around and slowly heard the soft hoovesteps of the stairs. Slowly he got up each and every one of them as he finally went up to the second floor. There was small white hallway with a few doors. One of them being Pinkie Pie's bedroom. He had a feeling that whatever this interference is...it's inside that bedroom. Carrick was careful to make any more noises, he didn't know if it was a pony or a machine of some sort. "Get ready everypony," He whispered to the group.

 

Snow closed her eyes for the most the ride. She could feel that Hypno was in some sort of mental problem. However, everytime she asked he reverted to his happy-go-lucky self. She decide to just let it go for now. Until it probably got to her and do something drastic.

The smell of the house changed from sweets to musky attic smell as they ascended the stairs. Blaze stood at the ready, his horn glowing crimson with a readied fireball spell just in case. Blaze was never one to be a scardy pony and he had the most defensive capabilities if things turned dangerous so he took point.

 

"I am ready if you are" Blaze said

Carrick opened the door slowly, the creek on the door amplified to it's highest. It sounded like nails on a chalkboard. Slowly it was...a giant metal box standing in the middle of the room. Carrick couldn't tell what was going on. Carrick took a few steps to slowly go on and touched it's metallic features. He felt a light shock from the box. Carrick rubbed his hoof for a second, Static Electricity. Carrick concluded. He wonder why or what it was inside the room for.

As Blaze entered the room, a smashing migrane forced a yelp out of Blaze. It was all of the MP Wave interference, he had guessed if he was at full power that he would probably unconscious at this moment.

 

Blaze examined the box, the MP Wave disturbance was definitely coming from the box. "It seems to be a Magic Wave jammer of some sort. It overloads the place with faulty MP Waves. I wonder why?" Blaze said.

After some time, the train came to a stop in Ponyville. Midnight blew the whistle of the train to let eveypony on it know they had reached their destination. Hypno got up slowly. "Alright, seems we're here. Now we just gotta find them." He said as the group made their way towards the exit of the train. Hypno stepped off and hit the ground, feeling good to have his hooves on nice soil once more.
