It would definetly lead to something very creative.

 

Remeber Steven Spielberg had a hand in Animaniacs and Tiny Toons, which are considered some of the best cartoons ever made.

 

However from what I read about those show a lot of the charm that came frorm them was that the creative personnel were given lots of freedom to work with what they had.
