Ruddboy Olaf 10,628 July 22, 2013 Share July 22, 2013 (edited) It's completely okay to be in love with a cartoon pony. We all have crushes on cartoon characters. The ponies are no different cause they have very human-like personalities. Just don't let it get to the point where you start fighting other bronies for her. Jeniac 5 July 22, 2013 Share July 22, 2013 If that's weird, we must live in a planet populated by weirdos! No, really, I don't think that weird at all, since the characters in MLP have human-like personalities, and I wouldn't call them bad looking either. As for the bestiality thing, I find that kind of theory rather ridiculous (now I'm not even talking about only the "innocent" kind of attraction) because it's not like we're watching a nature documentary about real ponies. I myself can't deny the fact that I might have a crush on Spitfire, but that doesn't bother me because I find that kind of attraction different to what you can feel towards an actual person. Messershmitt 289 July 23, 2013 Share July 23, 2013 Help me, i think i might love applejack. I read this fan fiction were AJ was one of the leading characters, and after i'd finished it, i started to think onto how beautiful AJ would be if she was real...I mean, Big emerald eyes, Freckles beneath them, her laugh....*Heavy sigh* i've never had a girlfriend before and its not fair how i will never meet someone like AJ because i live in Scotland.... Remi 1,309 July 23, 2013 Share July 23, 2013 (edited) Well, what you're feeling is normal, at least in this fandom. What you are depicting is you wanting Applejack to be your waifu. I have created a thread/topic about Who Is Your Waifu?, and many people have mentioned their feelings for characters of the show. I have a somewhat crush on Flootershy, for example, as she reminds me of my girlfriend and I find her adorable. Don't worry, you're not weird, you're actually quite normal. I do that all the time, and don't worry, you're not weird for crushing on an animated fictional character, either. I've been nursing a crush on Gru from Despicable Me for quite some time now. ^^ It's totally normal, especially for teens/young adults. I for one don't find ponies attractive, but if you do it's fine. Most bronies do, but you know who would be a better crush: 14 This fantastic signature is made my by awesome friend Rainbow Skywalker! People normal has crushes on rockstars, movie stars, sports champions or other "characters" that are as unreachable for them as a fictional characters. The idea to develop a specific "crush" with unreachable persons its even considerate "healthy", because that way people can define what is what they like on a possible romantic partner. ReverseFaller 2,484 July 24, 2013 Share July 24, 2013 One of my friends has a crush on Fluttershy, and I kind have a crush on Twilight Sparkle. It's not weird to have a crush on cartoon characters. Especially ponies. They have such realistic and well developed personalities, it's hard not to get attached to them. The mane 6 feels so lifelike, with their quirks and problems, and they're all so cute too. My friend and I were talking about how we're attracted to the personality of the ponies. So I don't think Twilight is "hot". She's cute, yes, and I love her color scheme, but it's her personality I'm attracted to. Also, like you mentioned OP (original poster), imagine the pony you have a crush on in real life. Ahh, a brony can dream, can't shklee? Dawn Stripes 301 July 24, 2013 Share July 24, 2013 (edited) @, To summarize, don't worry about it! In my experience, 'card crushes' are almost always temporary. Since you started with Applejack, I'm guessing that you'll work your way through Pinkie, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Twilight, and then Rarity. Unless you go through Rarity before you crush on Twilight; that's probable. Or skip straight to Fluttershy, which depending on which order you watch the episodes in is a distinct possibility... See? You just have to not take it too seriously. In all seriousness, that's the best advice I can give. For instance, you may not want to follow my example. This is what happened when I crushed on AJ: To an Earth Mare I comb through your mane, picking out pieces of dirt, Out of a desire to crumble them, Not to clean you. This is when you’re at your most beautiful, Applejack: Your coat crusted with little specks of dirt from working in the east field. This is your element, this is the way you came out of the earth, Covered in the ground that worships you. Only when you’re like this, I can hold your sleeping form and inhale the sweet smells of harvest. You shift under my touch; your face turns toward the sunlight coming through the barn door, Like a plant, you reach instinctively toward mother. Inside you, just an inch past the fine leather cover that separates my hoof from your cavities, Are currents of magic that would electrocute me. Your organs draw the magic of Equestria through your liver, your blood, you beating heart; You’re raw green mana, The magic of life itself, Dancing, laughing, working, sweating. Science confirms it; from Equestria’s womb you came, and thence you shall return. No death could diminish your beauty. I’d plant you–you’d hardly notice the difference, you’re already one with the earth. The tree that sunk its roots through your corpse would be the tallest and strongest of all. (Not for pegasi this ashes to ashes, dust to dust. For me, maybe, but only like a cheap sermon– You give the words invincible pride.) Only if Equestria let its dearest child go, And hurled you into orbit, Past the thaumic field that holds your cells together, Would you disintegrate into a mess worth crying over. I want to hold you closer, to keep that from happening, but my hooves have already wandered too far, Just like I wouldn’t dare whisper these words in your ears If I thought you awake. Gravity embraces you with fanatic devotion. It is enough. I trace your back, Supple, curving like gentle waves of wheat; I dig between your hairs, leaving marks, –Furrows?– and smell soil, the strength of moving earth, Yet soft enough to bury myself in. A mighty fine piece of land. I want to be planted here, in you. Carry me forever. Gravity embraces us both, Drawing us closer, despite your cautions. No matter where I go now, as long as I touch the good earth you touch, We’re together. That's what NOT to do. Okay, I admit, I stopped being helpful there sentences ago. I've been waiting for an excuse to post that poem for like...I don't even remember how long ago that was. Smarts 1,623 July 24, 2013 Share July 24, 2013 I wouldn't worry too much about it. It's not strange or anything like that, it's normal. We all have crushes on fictional characters at some point. Take me for example, I have a huge crush on Chrysalis. I find her to be beautiful and alluring in so many ways and I don't feel weird about it at all. In fact, I have had crushes on other show or video game related characters as well. So, don't worry about it. We won't judge. 6 IF is best girl.
