The ponies are no different cause they have very human-like personalities.

If that's weird, we must live in a planet populated by weirdos! No, really, I don't think that weird at all, since the characters in MLP have human-like personalities, and I wouldn't call them bad looking either. As for the bestiality thing, I find that kind of theory rather ridiculous (now I'm not even talking about only the "innocent" kind of attraction) because it's not like we're watching a nature documentary about real ponies. I myself can't deny the fact that I might have a crush on Spitfire, but that doesn't bother me because I find that kind of attraction different to what you can feel towards an actual person.

Well, what you're feeling is normal, at least in this fandom. What you are depicting is you wanting Applejack to be your waifu. I have created a thread/topic about Who Is Your Waifu?, and many people have mentioned their feelings for characters of the show. I have a somewhat crush on Flootershy, for example, as she reminds me of my girlfriend and I find her adorable. Don't worry, you're not weird, you're actually quite normal.

I've been nursing a crush on Gru from Despicable Me for quite some time now. ^^ It's totally normal, especially for teens/young adults.

Na out of the joke dont worry dood, picturing fictional characters and idealizing them is kind of normal for the highly creative and imaginative human being. People normal has crushes on rockstars, movie stars, sports champions or other "characters" that are as unreachable for them as a fictional characters.

 

The idea to develop a specific "crush" with unreachable persons its even considerate "healthy", because that way people can define what is what they like on a possible romantic partner. Of course when this is not taken to the extreme. any way welcome to the apple club

One of my friends has a crush on Fluttershy, and I kind have a crush on Twilight Sparkle. It's not weird to have a crush on cartoon characters. Especially ponies. They have such realistic and well developed personalities, it's hard not to get attached to them. The mane 6 feels so lifelike, with their quirks and problems, and they're all so cute too. My friend and I were talking about how we're attracted to the personality of the ponies. So I don't think Twilight is "hot". She's cute, yes, and I love her color scheme, but it's her personality I'm attracted to. Also, like you mentioned OP (original poster), imagine the pony you have a crush on in real life. Ahh, a brony can dream, can't shklee? (Shklee is the gender neutral term from the Futurama movie "Beast with a thousand backs". It's like he and she combined. Awesome, right?)

To summarize, don't worry about it! In my experience, 'card crushes' are almost always temporary. Since you started with Applejack, I'm guessing that you'll work your way through Pinkie, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Twilight, and then Rarity. Unless you go through Rarity before you crush on Twilight; that's probable. Or skip straight to Fluttershy, which depending on which order you watch the episodes in is a distinct possibility...

 

 

See? You just have to not take it too seriously. In all seriousness, that's the best advice I can give.

 

For instance, you may not want to follow my example. This is what happened when I crushed on AJ:

I wouldn't worry too much about it. It's not strange or anything like that, it's normal.   We all have crushes on fictional characters at some point. Take me for example, I have a huge crush on Chrysalis. I find her to be beautiful and alluring in so many ways and I don't feel weird about it at all. In fact, I have had crushes on other show or video game related characters as well. So, don't worry about it. We won't judge.
