Great little group here. I wonder if I'm the only one who feels a bond to other Trixie fans that is even closer than that I feel to other Bronies. You can't really deny that Trixie has a remarkably loyal (and vocal) fanbase. Partly I feel that this is just a reaction to the hate Trixie receives and that, by extension, we fans of Trixie sometimes get. Get ready for my long spiel about my experiences as a Trixie fanatic.

 

A couple of weeks ago I met the first Brony I've ever known, a Pinkie Pie fan. He introduced me to some others, including one Fluttershy fan. One day I was talking with this Fluttershy lover and we got to the topic of favorite ponies. I said that my opinion routinely swaps back and forth between my two favorites. I told him one favorite was Twilight, and for the other I said jokingly "I fear that there is a chance that you'll run away in terror when I say this, but my other favorite pony is Trixie." I said this smiling, assuming that he'd just laugh. Instead, this guy looked at me almost as if he were disturbed or unsettled. He said, in a somewhat nervous voice "Well, it's the internet, so I guess I've seen everything, including some of you Trixie people." and then changed the subject.

 

Maybe I just misinterpreted his facial expressions, but I can't help but be surprised at the sheer amount of Trixie hate there is out there. A few hours ago I was linked online to a story on fimfiction. The description seemed very anti-Trixie, so I decided to look through the comments to get a better sense of what it was about. I wouldn't encourage anyone else to do the same, as that was one of the most disturbingly hateful comments sections I have seen in my life on anything. The fanfic is about Trixie enslaving a musician for her performance and features her abusing him, so it's natural that people would be at least somewhat negative. But I just looked in horror as plenty of Bronies called for Trixie's death, specified ways that they wanted to torture and kill her. And many of them weren't joking; they were truly hateful. This can't just be from the fanfic. When Pinkie Pie was depicted cutting up Rainbow Dash in "Cupcakes", people said "Oh, Pinkie would never do that. Just a weird grimdark fic." But here, everyone's negative preconceptions of Trixie boiled over. I stopped reading the comments when someone said he wanted to rape-murder Trixie. I still feel upset by all this.

Solidarity and loyalty are the byproducts of adversity Pinkie Pie is a character that no one truly dislikes. Her fans are pretty loyal, buy Pinkie swag, but I don't feel that they are as committed or have the sense of community I feel in a thread like this. Rainbow Dash receives some hate. Her fans are often more forceful with their ideas (not necessarily in a bad way), are likely to have Rainbow in their avatar or signature on forums, and are very loyal to the element of loyalty. Trixie is a character frequently hated. The first two replies in this thread were by Trixie haters going out of their way to express their hate. Trixie debates are ever so common on these forums. As StarVision posted, someone in a different thread said "I would rather die in agony, than join the Trixie association". I believe that it is a result of this hate that gives Trixie so many zealously loyal fans. Here on MLP Forums, almost all Trixie fans (as in people who feel that Trixie is best pony) have her in their signature or avatar. Perhaps half or more have "Trixie" in their username. Hell, someone made a "Friends of Trixie" group.

 

 

The reason I rejoined the forums after a hiatus was because I read those fanfic comments, and because I felt it was my duty to spread pro-Trixie messages in response. So bring it on hatahs, Her Great and Powerfullness just gets stronger with your every word.

 

PS: Can we also resurrect the Trixie fanclub?

What a great post! I had no idea Trixiers (that's what I'm calling us now) had such a strong connection. Why don't we make this the Trixie fan club! I can ask Feld0 if we can make it official!

 

I even made a little userbar for people to use!

 

 

You can use either the big signature SimCity11100 made for us, or you can use the little one I just made. Sim, I love yours by the way! I just made this in case people wanted a smaller one.

E: But of course! There isn't a formal membership list or anything. Like the "Trixier-dom" (?) or the Bronydom in general, people just "join" by posting here I guess. The association (which is still rather new) is not really a formal group, just an idea shared by many and a place to talk.

 

Oh, and Questio: Not sure if you know this, but the Trixie fanclub is in Sugarcube Corner with all the other fanclubs (it can be found here). I don't think this should become the fanclub because

A: The Sugarcube Corner thread has much more (14 pages) and is much older.

B: All fanclub threads are located in Sugarcube Corner.

Twilie, I've noticed that you have gone out of your way to participate in this thread as much as you can. You took time out of your day to do so. Even though you claim to hate Trixie, you are bumping this thread when it needed a bump and your new signature helps get the word out about this pro-Trixie association. Even when you made an anti-Trixie group you used it to try to get attention from us Trixiers.

 

You clearly have some kind of a closeted obsession with Trixie fans. I am not sure why you are attracted specifically to fans of a character from a cartoon show, but...oh well, we love and tolerate in this community. Just please don't try to stalk me; that would be weird. I hate to say it, but you're younger than me and live quite a distance aways; it would never work out between us. Perhaps try flirting with Questio instead .

Seriously now. Fluttershy has a cult that worships a pile of gooey ooze. Of course there should be a Trixie cult. Then again, declaring Trixie a supreme being would likely invalidate her accomplishments, as of course a supreme being would do great things.

 

How about we declare Trixie the redeemer of pony-kind? Yes, that's better. Trixie was born an ordinary pony but has become great and powerful through her actions in life. She is the ubermensch (since pferd is German for horse, would it be uberpfer?) of Equestria, and thus quite worthy of devotion. Hail her Trixieness, redeemer of ponies! (I tried to photoshop something to end this post, but couldn't get it to work right.)

On another note: What high-profile members of the community do you know to be Trixie fans? TechRat of Equestria Inquirer is (as revealed at BronyCon), the artist PixelKitties is (just look through her DA gallery), the artist Yamino probably is (again, DA gallery), and finally one Trixie fan is a certain Equestria Daily administrator who need not be named (although he has stated in interviews that he only likes Trixie because she's humorously annoying). But who else?

Less than nine hours to Trixie episode.  Fuuuun.

 

I've long complained about how I'm afraid this episode could turn out badly.  But oh well.  In the end my rating of it will come down to 1) How much time Hasbro spends on developing Trixie's motives and 2) The believability of the resolution.

 

I do hope that Her G&Pness sees some of the community's neighsayers make peace.  At the end of the day, I guess that's what I want: An end to the Trixie hate.  I just feel a bit uneased by the vitriol released by haters and the way many in the community mock Trixie fans as crazy cultists.

 

Uneased, of course, because I'm shocked they figured out the existence of our cult.

It's so odd. By all accounts from her first appearance I shouldn't like her that much but when she reappeared she's suddenly one of my closet favorites: not even my other Brony friend that I talk to IRL likes her so I'm just all "Well fine then I'll keep her to myself" jokingly.

Aside from official canon, she might change her ways if someone were to show her real friendship. I have to say the Mane Six didn't really give her much of a chance. That's what I want to do about bullies... violence and hate won't stop them, but love just might.
