I'm sort of a new pegasis and it's basically just me, my boyfriend and a friend of ours who is a brony, but I go to a gaming website and I've sort of put it out there that I'm a fan of the show... oh no, I've told more people than I realized I have!  :o

Now how did that happen?

Well, anyway, I love loving the show, it makes me happy. My parents and brother whisper about it behind my back if I watch it openly though so my boyfriend and I don't watch it if we're around them.  :okiedokielokie:

Makes me feel like I'm doin something wrong when I watch the show. But I see nothin wrong with enjoying something you love.

Pretty much everybody except for my parents knows that I am a brony. I try to have at least on visible pony item at all times except around my parents and at work (rules, can't be helped). I test ran the idea of broniness past my parents, and it didn't go over well, so. as with many things, everybody except for them knows.

I do keep it a secret. It is sad but I know that everyone that I dare tell would spread it around my school, and before long I would be a laughing stock. I'm not as awesome as this one kid that has Algebra the period before me. He walks around with his MLP hoody like he owns the place! lol. It's just how it is. If I tell somebody, I will be driven to madness. The only kid I feel like telling is my Old best friend. He was A MLP:FIM Know-it-all! He would never shut up about it. If his personality hasn't changed though, then he'd probably just contact all of my friends and tell them just for trolls. Though, that is what WOULD happen, because I don't even know his number and he moved to some far away land. I could probably get my new best friend to get his number so I could contact him and find out, but in the end, the only person on earth that has suspicions that I am a brony is my little sister. Though I have to thank my little sister for existing, as when I watch MLP on Netflix, my parents think It was my sister that was watching it and they don't say a thing. So I pretty much haven't told anyone and I don't plan to. It is such a shame, but we all have secrets. Hiding one little thing that doesn't concern them is just fine. I bet my family has hid a million secrets from me.

If you guys haven't seen one of those "Mom, Dad, I'm pregnant" videos, there was this one group of bronies that did a "Mom, dad, I'm a brony" video, and their parents freaked out.

I kinda do the same thing in a way.  I'm an only child, but I can record mlp:fim and when it's recorded I can just change the name to one of the other shows I watch, so they won't suspect a thing.  I haven't told anyone that I'm a brony either, except a few friends from an MMO game.

I can't even tell my best friend because he thinks grouping the community as whole as at fault about those who clop (i really dgaf if you do or dont it's not that big of a deal) doesn't hurt those who don't in the community and thinks shaming them as a whole is fine.

I'm extremely open about it, and I make sure everyone I know knows it! I have met exactly zero Bronies in real life and all of my friends are, as far as I know, anti-ponies, but that don't stop me from wearing shirts and talking about the show in public  B)

With saying my friends aren't Bronies as far as I know, I'm pretty sure a few of them are faking it. After becoming a brony, admittedly quite recently, my friends have been supposedly anti-pony. After a while however, a few have started to make small references and accidentally saying show lingo making me feel as though one night they tried it and liked it, but don't want anyone to know because they were so openly anti about it beforehand.

I can't even go up and meet a person without them knowing I'm a brony because I constantly walk around in a brony shirt with brony headphones.

I make NO attempt to hide my bronyness.

I'm not what I would call secretive per se, but there are certain people in my family who I'd rather not know that I enjoy the show because it would conflict with their expectations of me. Despite that, my close family members know I enjoy the show and have no problem with it. Being that I'm female, they don't find it all that weird but perhaps a tad childish if anything.

I don't wear any MLP merch and I don't go around telling people I like the show just for the sake of it, but if the subject is ever brought up I would not have any problem admitting to being a brony/pegasister. I've gone to stores and purchased MLP products without any awkwardness too. :)

  • 1 month later...

My mom and dad XD both like MLP, and some of my friends at church have said something about the show - but usually after I have XD :D! So I have six pony fans - two of which are bronies! - in my life that I interact with face to face! :D Then, of course, there's my friends on here and on deviantART and FIMFiction that I interact with daily. :D

I don't really find the need to tell others about me being a pegasister, because it does not define who I am as a person. I might tell my closets friends if they find me watching the show or others who watches it, but I don't think it's more necessary.

I let no one know that I'm a brony.  I don't trust my family and friends with the information, nor would I be comfortable with them knowing.  I must take all measures to prevent the general population from knowing.  If people knew I was a brony, it'd be social suicide.  However, I wish I had a couple of brony friends to confide in.

I'm not super secretive about it, it's just some people around where I live believe in nothing but "super manly men" stereotypes.

Hopefully some will know what I mean by that.

People around here, including family, will completely change their opinion on me if they find out I love ponies.

I'm not ashamed, I just don't want to ruin my life because of how some of my bone-headed family members brains work.

I hope you understand...

I suppose I'm fairly secretive. I mean, I hardly ever talk about them with others, and only about.. one person, outside of the internet knows.

I personally find it boring to try and talk about it to people who clearly wouldn't be interested.

Let me just put it this way; everybody on the internet knows, and nearly nobody knows outside of it.

  • 3 years later...

I'm honestly too scared to let anyone know.. my dad would kick my ass and my mom (bless her heart) has gone through enough and I might be her last shred of hope.. I just hate letting people down and having people disappointed in me..

Only my nephew and little brother know it and that is enough. ;)

To be honest nobody knows I'm a brony and I'm being logical about it. It's just knowing my parents I know they will panic and possibly go into a mental breakdown if they find out I'm a brony. But still there is another user on the forums here that I'm planning to meet on the train next Friday and he's pretty much going to be the first and only person who I know in real life who knows I'm a brony! :)
