In the shrubs nearby, Starry slowly got up, and when she did, she noticed that her tackle had killed the wolf not upon impact, but when they both landed in the shrub and hit the ground, it's all because she knew that she wouldn't have enough momentum to kill it upon impact, the tackle only served as the catalyst for the wolf's death, so the wolf died after touching the ground,. it's head had been severed away from it's neck after hitting the rocky ground beneath. Because the creature was made of wood, Starry had suffered from several splinters, additionally after hitting the ground, she suffered some cuts too.

"O-owww...That hurt, but at least I killed it, oww! That hurt..." For the first time in since she turned into a pony, Starry felt proud of herself, but also she felt a bit of remorse because she would never want to kill any animal other than insects and fishes.

Afterwards, she saw Aurora knocked out "Gasp! Aurora!" she tried to race to where she lay, but the pain from her cuts hampered her run, so she trotted instead, "Auuuugh!" she grunted with every step it took to get there.

@@Ice Storm,

"Is everypony okay?" Asked a pony, She looked around to see that it was Ice Storm as she approached Aurora, she checked if she was breathing, to their relief she was "She's breathing at least, perhaps she overwhelmed herself. If everypony's capable of walking, we should get out of here before more of those come back. I'll carry Aurora if needed," "Um...I agree, we should get out as soon as possible, this place....it gives me the creeps, I don't want to see anypony suffer anymore.....seeing Aurora suffer....is enough." She starts shedding tears. "I'm sorry Aurora.......I wish...I wish I could have...help you....sooner....sniff..." then she starts crying next. "It's all my fault....Waaaaaahuhuhuhuhuuu!"

Two ponies burst from the bushes in front of them followed by five wolves that were strangely made of timber. A fight broke out and there was chaos taking place all around him. Scared, stressed and only thinking of himself, Day ran and hid behind a tree and watched the battle take place from there.

As he watched the other fight off the wolves and also acquire injuries doing so he felt deeply ashamed. He was being selfish only caring for his own safety and also that he did not have the courage to fight. He also doubted he would have been much help if he had stayed.

When the battle looked like it was finally over he stayed where he was for a few seconds in case something else popped out from somewhere. It was then that he heard a soft growl come from behind him. He froze, and slowly turned to see another wolf standing a short distance from him. He had no idea how long it had been there for. Not being able to do anything from being overcome with stress he just stood there, waiting for it to attack him.

Strangely it didn't though. Day found this odd and then noticed that it was looking past him and he guessed that it was more interested in the fight that had just happened then him. The wolf then turned around and ran off into the darkness of the forest.

Day let out a sigh of relief, relaxing a little before realizing what that had gone to do. "Crap" he thought "I bet he's gone to get his friends and inform them of what just happened". Panic rising again, he decided that where he was standing wasn't safe anymore and that he should go warn the others.

He walked out unto the area where the fighting took place, there were remnants of wood everywhere from the wolves and a trail of blood leading off in one direction. He followed it to find the Ice Storm and Starry Sky standing around Aurora and that grey pony that he saw before that was laughing. The two were both lying unconscious on the ground. There was also ash everywhere which he had no idea what it could have come from. He walked up to them and tried to appear that he had just been busy fighting on his own.

"That was some battle eh?" Day said. "Didn't think I was going to make it after taking on one by myself but I still managed to show it who's boss". He realized how unconvincing he just sounded but he thought it was better then telling them what he really had been doing.

Day then noticed that the blood trail led right up to numbers, yet he could see no injury on him. He then smiled to himself, realizing that Aurora must of healed him and knocked herself out in the process. He was glad that he wouldn't be relied upon solely to to do that.

He then took a closer look at the conditions of Ice Storm and Starry. Ice looked unhurt but exhausted from running around and Starry seems to have managed to injure herself again. She was also crying.

@ Day walked over to her to try and comfort her. "Hey, it's ok. It's not your fault what happened and you shouldn't blame yourself for it." He said in a soft and comforting voice. "Aurora's going to be ok, she's just tired from what she did. I can tell you from experience that it takes a lot out of you." Looking at her wounds Day went on to say "It seems you managed to get yourself hurt again. Hold still while I fix that..."

Day charged up his horn and with a small flash of light, touched it to Starry's body. Once again, her injuries healed and Day staggered back. He felt exhausted again but got the feeling that he was getting better at the spell. "There," he said to Starry, smiling "All better. This makes for the second time I've healed you now. It's proving to be good practice for me though so thanks".

Day then looked back to the group and back to the current situation. "We need to get out of here as soon as we can, it's not safe anymore" He said seriously. "More wolves could come at any moment and I don't think we could win another fight after that one".

“Coward. Hid in corner entire fight. Useless.”

Day charged up his horn and with a small flash of light, touched it to Starry's body. Once again, her injuries healed and Day staggered back but only slightly this time. He also didn't feel as tired as the first time which he put to getting better at the spell. "There," he said to Starry, smiling "All better. This makes for the second time I've healed you now. It's proving to be good practice for me though so thanks".

“... Near useless.”

Day then looked back to the group and back to the current situation. "We need to get out of here as soon as we can, it's not safe anymore" He said seriously. "More wolves could come at any moment and I don't think we could win another fight after that one".

"Hate to leave exploration unfinished. But need more time to get used to magic, and can't afford another near-casualty. One medic is already down." she sighed.

"Agreed." Serah replied ruefully. "Need time to rest before making another attempt. Meet up with others and discuss what we've learned."

Without waiting for an answer, Serah trotted over to where Numbers and Aurora lay. She looked between the two for a second; both appeared to be sleeping soundly, without any noticeable battle scars .

"A medic is useless without a fighter, but a good fighter can do without a medic." Serah judged the two's worth. She nudged her head under Number's body and heaved him up and over her back, and grunted. "... medic may not have been as heavy, though."

Serah carried Numbers along the trail they had taken to get there, hoof prints and the faint scent of smoke leading the way out of the forest.

As Electrobolt waited for a response or something from this pony whom had originally called for someone to help them out, he thought he had heard a thud-like sound from behind him. At first, he didn't think much on it and waited patiently for a response. But then, he heard the thing that thudded behind him exclaiming, "I'm a pony!" Now he looked behind him and noticed another winged pony, having appeared from out of the blue.

*Another one...? Just... What in the world is going on???* the lime-green earth pony thought to himself, confused at the whole deal going on, before shaking the surprised look off his face. As he calmed himself down a small bit, he looked over this new pony. He was light-blue with a brown tail, and his hair was brown as well. The pony also had wings, like a few others. It was also the first time he had seen something on the hip of these ponies: an image of sorts. This one appeared to be a shield of sorts, but he didn't know why he hadn't noticed these things until now. Turning around to look at his own hip, he saw one of those images again, only this one was different. Instead, it appeared as one of those strange devices he had seen in his memories. As he shook his head, clearing these thoughts out, he looked back to the light-blue pony and was about to say something, until...

@

However just before he did so, there was a crack beneath him. He swore under his breath as the branch he was on broke from his weight and he fell unceremoniously fell out of the tree into the clearing. He law there a moment winded, then pulled himself up. "Our apologies... We ah, we did not mean to interrupt such a moment..." He said awkwardly as he stood up. There goes our cover. He thought angry with himself.

Upon hearing the snapping sounds, he looked around, confused. It wasn't until he heard the thud of yet another pony landing in the opening that he jumped in surprise. *Is today "Ponies-falling-out-of-the-sky day or something???* he thought, before shaking his head. *Wait... Why did I just think tha--- Nevermind...* As he looked at this new pony, he saw this one also had wings along with brown hair and a brown tail. But he instead had a dark grey body color. Still not sure of what was going on, he waited before the grey pony spoke.

*Our...? We...? So is he with...? No, he can't be... But then, why would he speak like that...?* He was clearly confused at this new pony's speech, but disregarded his confusion as he asked, "Um, are... Are you alright...?"

@@Electrobolt,

Silver looked over at the hesitant green pony. He looked up and down at him sizing him up. He seemed a little nervous and cautious. "Our well being is none of thine concern. Yet still we suppose a proper introduction is in order." He said to the strange pony addressing him. "Our name is Silver. Thou may address us by this for the future. Now wouldst thou please be so kind as to tell me why thou art so near a forest as dangerous as this?" He said questioning them about why they were right next to the Everfree forest.

Perhaps there is some suspicious activity here... If we are to go to Canterlot, we should stop hither and see what we can do in situations like this. Silver thought to himself. "Hmph, in fact why would anypony enter that forest in the first place? Is there something happening here that I shouldst know about?" He asked narrowing his eyes a little suspiciously.

The pony didn't seem like much of a threat, and neither did the others who seemed a little too occupied in their romances to care. However Silver felt it could quite easily be an ambush attempt to trap him. That red pony he had seen earlier looked quite dangerous. He would have to keep a sharp eye out for her. And if there are others, they could be waiting to strike us in case we go in after them... Or they could all be hiding in the bushes right now. I must be cautious. Silver thought, his eyes scanning the area around him without turning away from the green pony.

The blue-winged pony saw the lime-green pony was examining him closely with curiousity. After awhile, he saw the lime-green pony look on its hip. The blue-winged pony saw on its hip a strange, mechanical device of sorts. "Is it wearing a tattoo of some kind? It sort of looks familiar..." he thought. The blue-winged pony looked over on his own hip and saw that he had a mark too. It was a red shield with a golden outline and a white star in its center. He couldn't understand why. "A shield? I don't remember having this on me before..." He thought. The blue winged pony looked off towards the forest, thinking back to what he remembered. However, that was the thing: he doesn't remember anything at all. "Oh no. How did I get here in the first place? Where was I before this? What was even my name?!?" He thought in a small panic. He tried drawing answers, but his mind was drawing blanks. The blue-winged pony looked over his hip again at the shield. "Maybe this shield might hold a clue..."

At that moment, a vision flashed into his mind. He was falling inside the darkness for what seemed like an eternity. Off in the distance, something came into view. He saw a thousand eyes boring in all around him. All of a sudden, one pair of eyes caught his attention. They looked bigger than the others and held a unsettling greenish hue in them. The whole situation was unsettling him and he could do nothing but look on at the eyes of his stalkers. The big, green eyes gave a laugh that sent chills up his spine. He closed his eyes, hoping that they would go away.

Then suddenly, a burst of light followed by silence surprised him. He looked through squinted eyes to see that the thousand, menacing eyes disappeared and in their place, one figure floated in front of him. It was a pony of some kind, except it had wings and a horn, which gave off a warm light. He saw that the pony was female, judging by her stature. She had a mane of many beautiful colors that gave off sparkles and the same was for her tail. Her coat was a brilliant shade of white with her hooves golden yellow. He saw that she was wearing a golden crown of sorts with a purple gem in its center along with a necklace that was the same color with the same gem as the crown. Her horn as well as her wings were white and both were big. Her hip bore the symbol of the Sun.

As he looked into the pink eyes of this pony, he couldn't help but admire the magnificence of her and felt safe. He heard a calm, soothing voice in his head. "Do not be afraid of the darkness, Alex Night." She gave a small smile and she turned away into a trot towards the darkness. He tried to say, "Wait, please don't go. I need your help!" However, the words could not make a sound. Before long, the white winged unicorn was gone along with the light she gave.

The vision was gone and the blue-winged pony was looking at the shield on his hip once again. "That vision... That was from when I was in the darkness. What were those green eyes? Who was that white winged unicorn?" He wondered. He thought back to what she said. She called him "Alex Night". "Could that be my name?..." He tried thinking of what his name really was, but still comes up with nothing. Finally, he decided to go by that name. It seemed like a nice name, anyways.

With one mystery solved, Alex decided it was time to get up and find out what this place is, how he got here, why he is a pony with wings, and more importantly, why he is here. With determination, he put his front left hoof down, along with his front right followed by the rear left and the right. He pushed himself up and now he was standing on all fours.

Alex heard a crash from behind and wheeled around to see another pony with wings fall out of a tree. This pony was like him with a brown mane and a brown tail, but had a gray coat. "What in the world?!" Alex exclaimed. The gray winged pony seemed alright as he just got back up with no problem.

Alex was a little confused at how he spoke. He spoke with a sort of nobility in his voice and using words like 'our' or 'we'. He even used the word 'anypony'. Alex didn't see anyone else with this 'Silver', which confused him even more. Something about this pony was off to Alex. He was asking some questions very inquisitively to the lime-green pony as if Silver was accusing it of doing something wrong. Then a thought occurred to Alex. This Silver said something about being near a forest that was supposedly dangerous and might be a clue that he knows about this world he is in. Alex stepped up next to the lime-green pony facing towards Silver. "Why is this forest dangerous? What is this place?" Alex asked Silver. Edited by Alex_Night

Ice listened as Starry spoke next to her stating that she didn't like it here in the forest and that getting out of the forest was something that was pretty much on the top of her list of things to do as she didn't want to see anypony else suffer. She also noticed that Starry was beginning to cry as she looked over towards Aurora and mentioned that seeing her suffer was enough before breaking down. She would have went over to console her, but it seemed that Daylight was already on that. He had made his way over to her and told her that this wasn't her fault, and that she shouldn't blame herself for it. "Indeed, nopony predicted this. Heck nopony even predicted that we'd even wake up here. Right now though we should get moving," she replied as the red unicorn walked over and picked up the gray pony that was on the ground as well.

Day added the point that more wolves could be closing in on the area because th scuffle wasn't exactly quiet. Ice pulled Aurora onto her back and propped her up to make sure that she wouldn't fall off.The other Unicorn stated that they should report what they've learned to the others, which Ice agreed even though the only thing that they really learned was that the forest was dangerous. Something that considering a mass of insectoid things or whatever they were came flying out after them, and was the cause of them being in here in the first place should have made obvious.

"Come," she said to day as the others had already made their way out. "We're sitting ducks out here. I can't use much more of my magic, and we're in no condition to hold anything off. If we don't get out of the forest now, then there might not be a time for us to do so," she stated putting it bluntly. She began walking towards the path that lead out of the forest watching behind her the entire time to make sure that Daylight and Starry Sky were following. She kept moving though. At the very least she could run Aurora out of the forest and get back in hopefully quickly enough to make sure that nothing happened to them. At the moment though, making sure Aurora was out of harms way, was her primary objective. She made her way down the path and stopped at the point where she could see both groups. She couldn't make out much from the one in the meadow other than the others had made it out okay, but she could still clearly see back to Daylight and Starry Sky in case they needed help.

Tich could see the fires from Serah in the distance from where she was flying. The view invoked a peculiar memory

A city being bombarded, streets were on fire and laid to ash. But it didn't look real, what was this image, what did it mean. The sound of others screaming in pain as the scorching heat engulfed them. Even though it was horrific, the imagery didn't feel real enough, it was missing the smell, the feeling of warm air caused by the blaze. The smoke penetrating lungs, these were all missing. Was this someone else's memory, was this a dream of events that never happened?

Tich shook her head. She focused herself and barreled down towards the far end of the now dimming fires. The trail led them near outside of the forest once more. She flew towards them. She lost control of her flying at the last few meters and crashed into a nearby tree.

She saw the state of Numbers and thought something was up, managing to get her head out she jumped out landing near the group of ponies. She stood on her hind legs, slightly aggressively asking "What is going on here and what have you done with Numbers?" As she finished her sentence a couple of timberwolves howled in the distance. Changing her demeanor looking at the source of the sound she asked "What was that?"

"Why is this forest dangerous? What is this place?" Alex asked Silver.

Silver paused a moment. How could they not be aware of the dangers in yonder forest... Did they come here by their own free will? He thought to himself. Perhaps there is more to this than we though, maybe they are jut clueless citizens? He figured. No, we mustn't drop our guard! That's exactly what they could want.

"That forest, in case thou doth not know, is the Everfree forest. It is a very dangerous forest filled with enchantments and monsters. We would advise that thou dost not go in there. Thou might quite easily die." He said to them. He sized up the other pony that had asked the question. He didn't seem like much of a threat. He looked a little confused and drowsy. Perhaps they are excellent actors and are trying to convince me of something...

"How didst thou get here, and why? For what reason would you approach such a highly dangerous location?" Silver asked the ponies around him. Surely they must have figured from the look of the place that it would be dangerous. It is rather ominous when viewed from the outside, or in for that matter.

Silver wasn't normally an intelligence gatherer, but he thought it was the best use of his time. Then he remembered. Time. He needed to find out what year he was in. He desperately needed to know how long he had been asleep. He was tempted to ask them, but he couldn't be sure until he knew if these ponies were trustworthy.

He shifted his bow a little bit on his back, and looked at it hungrily. We really ought to try shooting this again. We wouldn't want to be stuck in a bad situation without being able to use our weapon. He decided to try after he was done talking to these ponies. He really couldn't risk blowing his cover any more than he already had.

The sunlight warmed the fur on Aurora's face and flank, and the playful breeze tasseled her mane, blowing it gently to either side of her neck. The vibrant green grass was soft enough to use as a pillow, and on this occasion the bugs that usually inhabited the area had, miraculously, chosen to stay away. A faint scent of rosemary blown towards Aurora's muzzle by the west wind made her smile and turn her head fondly to the cozy log cabin behind her, where a cheerful plume of smoke had just puffed out of the chimney, rising until it vanished in the morning sunshine. There was only one thing that could make the idyllic scene any more perfect than it already was...

"Hi, big sis!" A pair of curious, emerald-green eyes appeared out of the swaying grass for the tiniest tenth of a second, and Aurora felt a weight of her back as her cheerful six-year old brother used her as a trampoline. "I got you," he crowed triumphantly. "You didn't see me there, admit it!" He rolled off of her back, leaving a black streak behind. Aurora frowned at the mark reproachfully.

"Were you playing in the fireplace again, Aury?" she asked, faking a hint of sterness in her voice that was not matched by the emotions swirling in her heart. "You know father's going to have your tail for that."

Aury circled the sitting Aurora playfully. "I don't get why you can make up a name for me and I don't get to make one for you," he complained, crossing his hooves in a childish pout. "I know tons of good names for you!"

Aurora raised an eyebrow at the colt. "Would you rather I call you Aequitate? If you want me to use your real name, I will...I just liked having a pet name for you."

"No," sighed the colt. "My real name is dumb. I don't even know what it means." He considered for a few seconds, then, defeated, added, "You can call me Aury, I don't mind." Then, blinking his eyes indignantly as he digested the rest of Aurora's words, added, "Hey! I'm not a pet!"

Aurora giggled as she watched her brother throw a small tantrum. "Relax, Aury," she murmured affectionately. "You know I was just kidding." She reached out with a hoof and rubbed his belly playfully, sending Aury into a fit of giggles, his anger quite forgotten. Withdrawing her hoof, she noticed that it was covered in black soot. She glared at Aury. "You WERE playing in the fireplace! Quick, I'll help you wash off before father sees the mess you've made out of yourself..."

She rose and made for the forest in a carefree manner, stopping only when she realized Aury wasn't tagging along at her side. She turned her head questioningly, and saw him in a stubborn pout right where he had been. Making her way back to him she looked down at the adamant pony nonchalantly. "Hurry up," she urged with a smile.

"I'm not going," Aury grumbled mulishly. "I won't wash it off. Having black fur is awesome! I don't like my blue fur..." He crossed his arms defiantly as he glared at her. Aurora looked at him with some degree of affectionate exasperation, before shaking her head and sitting back down beside him.

Gloating happily at his victory, Aury gamboled around the meadow for a few minutes as Aurora watched him, a small smile on her face - the soot would rub off the longer he spent rolling in the grass after all, but he didn't have to know that. Sure enough, as he returned, his fur was already more sapphire-blue than it was grayish-black. Aurora made a mental note to splash him unsuspectingly with a bucket of water before they went back in.

Aury approached her, hiding his hooves behind his back as he wobbled forward unsteadily towards her on two hind hooves. "I have something for you," he muttered shyly. Aurora watched him curiously as he brought his hooves forward in front of him - clutching a large red apple in between them. He set it in front of her. "Father 's mean to you...you deserve more than just left over food from our dinners. I saved this from yesterday."

Aurora pushed it away, ignoring the rumbles of hunger building in her stomach. "I-I couldn't. It's for you. You need it more than me." Aury didn't take it, but simply stood there with the same stubborn expression that Aurora knew all too well. He would get his way.

"Just because you were "adopted"," he began, mispronouncing the word, "doesn't mean he can be such a meany pants!" He scowled heavily. "You're my big sis, and I love ya!" He gave her a big hug, and at that moment Aurora was the happiest she'd been in years. "Apples are tasty," he added as she released him, rather reluctantly, still not taking the apple. "Do you need me to feed you?" He picked it up, and began unsteadily making his way toward her.

~~~
Aurora swayed slightly, her brain slowly slogging back to work as she opened her eyes. I...uhh? She wasn't walking, that was for sure...but somehow she was still moving. It took her a few seconds to realize that she was being carried by somepony else, the pony's name eluding her grasp for a moment. "I-Ice Storm? Where are we?" she asked weakly.
While Klopp was staring at Magenta, he was interrupted by the sudden thud nearby, he got up standing again, and turned to see what it was. Another pony had appeared, a blue pegasus with brown hair. Klopp hadn't seen where he came from, but he must have fallen out of the sky from the sound he had heard. Just as he was coming to terms with this pony appearing, another fell nearby out of a tree. This one was a pegasus as well, but a dark gray coat, and a really nice bow. So many different colored ponies... Magenta is clearly the best color though!
The gray pony began to speak, and Klopp hadn't a clue what he was talking about. The stallion must have either had one too many drinks, or hit his head too hard coming out of that tree, but he seemed to think he was more than one person. We? Why is he a we? We are we, but he is not we, as he is he. All this we talk had the now fedoraless pony a bit confused, and he wasn't paying much attention to anything the gray pony said. However, he was paying attention when the Blue Pegasus spoke up.
"Why is this forest dangerous? What is this place?"
A very valid question, and one Klopp had yet to ask anyone. Just where was he, and not only that, but why was he here? As these thoughts coursed through his mind, a breeze came by and he felt it coursing through every hair, and touch every inch of his scalp. This is when he suddenly realized his Fedora was still not upon his head, and he looked to Magenta to see if she still had it. It was resting lopsided on her head, due to the protrusion of her tiny horn. It was a bit large for her head as well. Klopp simply smiled at all this adorableness, then spoke to her.
"You look very cute in that hat, but the color doesn't suit you too well. I think it looks much better on my head, don't you think? Maybe I should take it back."
@@Dave247,
Even after Daylight consoled Starry after finding Aurora knocked out and wounded, she still cried, but after a while, she wiped her tears and responded "Y-you...think so? Well...I hope she isn't...close to dying...Oh yeah...um..thanks for....healing me.....but if you could do that...then....um...why not heal Aurora? I'm sure she'd appreciate it.." And then the thought of the toll healing has on the unicorn, "Oh.....I guess it takes up a lot of energy to heal a pony.....and I guess you'll need the energy to get out of this forest,"
Ice pulled Aurora onto her back and propped her up to make sure that she wouldn't fall off.The other Unicorn stated that they should report what they've learned to the others, which Ice agreed even though the only thing that they really learned was that the forest was dangerous. Something that considering a mass of insectoid things or whatever they were came flying out after them, and was the cause of them being in here in the first place should have made obvious.
"Come," she said to day as the others had already made their way out. "We're sitting ducks out here. I can't use much more of my magic, and we're in no condition to hold anything off. If we don't get out of the forest now, then there might not be a time for us to do so," she stated putting it bluntly. She began walking towards the path that lead out of the forest watching behind her the entire time to make sure that Daylight and Starry Sky were following. She kept moving though. At the very least she could run Aurora out of the forest and get back in hopefully quickly enough to make sure that nothing happened to them. At the moment though, making sure Aurora was out of harms way, was her primary objective. She made her way down the path and stopped at the point where she could see both groups. She couldn't make out much from the one in the meadow other than the others had made it out okay, but she could still clearly see back to Daylight and Starry Sky in case they needed help.
"Oh....err...we should get going...but I was thinking.....Would you like me to lift you by the hooves? I was thinking that....maybe your too tired to trot.....so uh....would you like to experience flying?" Starry asked in a soft tone. "Err, just pray that I don't crash into a tree if you say yes, but I won't fly too high, I'll just..um..fly above the way out following Ice and Aurora." "I just hope I'll be fine"
"That forest, in case thou doth not know, is the Everfree forest. It is a very dangerous forest filled with enchantments and monsters. We would advise that thou dost not go in there. Thou might quite easily die." He said to them. He sized up the other pony that had asked the question. He didn't seem like much of a threat. He looked a little confused and drowsy. Perhaps they are excellent actors and are trying to convince me of something...
"How didst thou get here, and why? For what reason would you approach such a highly dangerous location?" Silver asked the ponies around him. Surely they must have figured from the look of the place that it would be dangerous. It is rather ominous when viewed from the outside, or in for that matter.
It seemed like the blue winged pony was similarly curious about what the grey pony said. As Electrobolt listened in, still curious about the way Silver was speaking, he overheard that the forest was named the Everfree Forest, and that it was very dangerous. After hearing that one could easily die in there, his eyes popped open as they looked back at the very forest that Silver had spoken about, only now realizing this foreboding appearance that it gave off. *Wait... If it is as deadly as he makes it out to be...* His mind flashed back to when he had noticed there were missing ponies, and then to the purple pony with the goggles and wings. *Oh no, all those ponies could be in danger!!!*
Although Silver had asked them why they were here, and what they were doing, he couldn't help but think about what was said about the forest, and the ponies that had already gone inside. "Um, I'm sorry to interrupt, but... Shouldn't we try and do something? If the forest is as dangerous as you say... Then shouldn't we try and do something to help those in the forest get out safely?" He then looked away from Silver and the blue pony, before returning his gaze back to the forest, worried about the ponies that may still be in there, possibly lost. Hopefully they were doing alright, but after hearing what was said about the forest, he began to have doubts.
Silver paused a moment.
"That forest, in case thou doth not know, is the Everfree forest. It is a very dangerous forest filled with enchantments and monsters. We would advise that thou dost not go in there. Thou might quite easily die." He said to them. He sized up the other pony that had asked the question.
He shifted his bow a little bit on his back, and looked at it hungrily.
Alex listened on as Silver explained that the forest they were next to was known as the Everfree Forest. Apparently, the forest was an area filled with all sorts of traps and who knows what else. "Hmmm, given that I am a talking blue winged pony around a group of other strange ponies with wings and horns, it wouldn't surprise me if there are things beyond my imagination inside this Everfree Forest" Alex thought. When Silver mentioned that somepony could very easily die in the forest, Alex made a mental note to steer clear from the forest for the time being. When Silver finished explaining, Alex noticed that he was looking over Alex as if trying to figure something out about the blue winged pony. Alex then noticed that Silver was fiddling with something on his back. It was a bow with a quiver!
At that moment, alarms were ringing in Alex's head as he started to put together the pieces about this Silver. "Wait a second... The clothes this pony is wearing, the nobility in his voice, the bow on his back. This pony must be some be kind of royal guard!" He thought. As the answer dawned on him, another question comes into his mind. "If this pony really is some kind of royal guard, could he possibly know about the brilliant white winged unicorn I saw in my vision?... Only one way to find out." He thought. Alex also noticed that Silver was eyeing his bow with a look that told Alex to watch his next words. Knowing this, Alex shifted his position, putting his front left hoof in front of him, to show Silver that he won't be intimidated by his presence. Alex was about to ask Silver his most important question until...
"Um, I'm sorry to interrupt, but... Shouldn't we try and do something? If the forest is as dangerous as you say... Then shouldn't we try and do something to help those in the forest get out safely?" He then looked away from Silver and the blue pony, before returning his gaze back to the forest,
The lime-green pony to his left spoke with a sense of urgency that caused Alex to stop his train of thought and listen to the lime-green pony. As the lime-green pony's words trailed off and looked towards the forest, Alex connected the dots. "This pony must have some friends inside that forest and needs help." Alex thought. Knowing the body language all too well, Alex decided that more important things have come up right now. Alex looked towards Silver. "Answers will have to wait. Right now, I have to help these ponies." Alex finished his thought before turning towards to the lime-green pony and tapping his back with Alex's left hoof. "Hey, you said you have friends trapped in there? If that's the case, I'll be more than happy to help get them out." Alex said with a reassuring smile. "My name is Alex Night. What's your name?" Alex asked the lime-green pony.
@,
Artsy's words to Jack, although he could tell she was mainly just humoring his manly ego, still lifted his ego up as he nudged her onto the ground. "Shh, shh, it's fine. Like I said, I'm just fine! We're here together, alive and well, and for the foreseeable future we're going to stay together! Nothing will separate us, I promise." He meant it. He really did not want to break any promise, ESPECIALLY not one to his girlfriend that was something like that. "I'm probably not going to talk much more as you fall asleep, though. Instead, I'll do this," he said as he laid down next to her and put an arm around her little body, snuggling up next to her.
@,
"There. Now we can just go gently into sleep togeth-," Jack began to say, before one of the most insane things he has ever seen happened. Out of the sky fell something; at first, it just looked like a shapeless blob. As it grew closer and closer to the ground, however, Jack noticed that it looked rather...equine-like. It took him a couple more moments before he realized that it was, in fact, a pony that was heading towards the ground. "What in the hell?! I thought everything was weird before, but now it's raining ponies?!" He looked over to Artsy as the pony(which was a pegasus, apparently) landed softly on the ground and said "I'm starting to wonder if that crack took me into your mind, with the weirdness of this situation now that I think about it more," nudging her as the new pegasus said very loudly that he was a pony. You don't say, Jack thought in an amused way to himself.
@,
Jack made to get up to ask who this new pony was, but before he was even halfway up he heard a rather loud snap, and out of a nearby tree fell...yet another pony! How many of them were there?! And this one was a pegasus, too! "Gah! What's with all of the new pony's?!", he said in an extremely exasperated tone. Laying back down, he grumbled "I'm just gonna let these guys do whatever they want for a while. Lets see what I can find out."
And so Jack listened. Having his arm over Artsy the whole time, he listened in to the conversation between all of the other ponies, trying to figure out who the hell everybody was. After waiting a few minutes, and hearing what people had to say, Jack thought he knew enough to maybe figure out who these newcomers were somewhat. Alex, like Jack and most of the other pony's he knew to this point, used to be human if his "I'm a pony!" comment from earlier was any indication. Silver, on the other hand, was a native from what Jack could tell...yet something was weird about "them", as Silver referred to himself. He was pretty certain that there wasn't really any Shakespearean-age ponies around in this world, but then again who knows? For all he knew, there were some who talked like they were from the stone age and it would be considered normal! Thus, he set aside Silver's odd way of talking and instead simply concluded that this wasn't really that weird in this world.
Standing up, he suddenly said in response to Electro's request of help "Although you didn't ask me, I suppose that I can help out too. " Turning to Alex and Silver, he said "The name's Jack Stache. Now, are we going to head into that forest and save the ones who went in, or what?"
As the pegasus stepped forward in a rather bold manner, Silver instinctively reached back to his bow and almost tugged on the string, but he stopped himself when the green pony spoke. Silver looked at them as the one who was apparently named Alex, (What a strange name...) introduced himself and offered the green one some help. Silver steadily lowered his guard and watched.
@,
Suddenly the blue unicorn walked up to them. Silver turned his head to him. This one looked older than most of the others. His mustache especially enforced that. The ponies so far didn't seem too hostile. This one here was now offering to help them out. Then the blue unicorn said his name, Silver paused a moment at that. That sounds like an unusual combination of words and letters. Certainly doesn't sound like a name most normal ponies would have...
Silver decided this one could pose a little more of a threat than any of the others. He promised to himself that he would watch him carefully. He seemed intent on going into the forest. Silver didn't blame him, after all if he had comrades in there and these ponies had no clue how dangerous it was then perhaps there was a chance of some simple carelessness involved. Silver didn't want to take chances. If these were simple citizens they would be in mortal peril if they went in there, and if they died he would certainly be held responsible and deal with a very guilty conscience.
"Although we wouldst not advise it, if thou dost insist on entering yonder forest then we shall accompany thee." Silver addressed the ponies that wanted to help their friends. Silver began considering the evidence. Most of them seemed fairly young. More or less around his age. He figured ponies their age probably wouldn't be doing anything threatening to the kingdom, so he decided to let his guard down.
A little.
He still kept cautious, and didn't entirely trust them. "It's dangerous to go alone, so it wouldst be logical that we go with thee since we have a form of defense." Silver added in a reason for going with them. They must have some foolish friends... Silver thought. Then he suddenly remembered something. "Before we go, wouldst thou be so kind as to tell us the year?" Silver asked trying to mask his interest.
@,
Artsy smiled at Jack's words of reassurance as she snuggled up to him more, letting out a contented sigh and having no further reply other than a hushed: "Thank you..." It radiated a sort of gentle and at-easeness that the mare had previously not shown. She was so busy being too anxious about this entire situation. But his warmth radiated with her strength of resolve. Whether or not they were going to get out of here, she knew one thing. That she would not separate herself from him no matter...
...What?
She heard him begin to speak again, and then some other unfamiliar voices who weren't Klopp, his flamboyant new girlfriend, and the electrically green pony. Her dark eyes slowly flittered open, and she was presented with two new sights. No wonder there was what sounded to be a whole lot of commotion and blabbing. And even more so, what caught her attention were the ideas of these ponies... Jack wanted to go into the forest, like some idiot showing bravado, perhaps in an attempt to impress her with manliness... when the oddly spoken gray winged pony who... was the only one thus far that she had seen so clothed (hmm, so she didn't have to be naked after all. They wore clothes. That was a good thing. She was trying to keep her mind off of the fact that she was utterly nude. Dammit! She just reminded herself again! Stupid mind!) had proclaimed it dangerous.
It would've been thought obvious though by anyone with a brain that a dark ominous-looking forest like that would be dangerous, however. She could feel a sort of uneasiness that took hold of her everytime she gazed in its direction. Plus, all the odd noises and trotting... who knew what had happened to the others, and what they were doing. She knew one thing though. No matter how selfish and cowardly it may seem, she didn't know those people at all. And it was something that she did not want to get caught up in.
@, @, @@Electrobolt,
"Jack, and you... other guys. I'm not really so sure that's a good idea. Sure, we could try some kind of defensey thing. But... uh... well... to be blunt, most of us don't know what the heck's in there, first of all... secondly, just LOOK at that place. We can't just barge in there. we should wait a little longer for the others. I mean, we barely even know them. But I'm just concerned for my own safety...and I don't think it's prudent. But if I'm speaking... nonsense, you guys don't really have to listen or anything. I just... really really... don't advise it. I'm sure they're fine. I don't think... that scary red pony is one to go down for the count." Her voice was for the most part steady, but a little fraught with her typical anxiety and hesitancy. However, she did sound a bit more authoritive and sure of herself than usual, which was a good sign. She was... kind of getting used to this odd pony land.
One thing she was at least mostly sure of: that red pony was probably still alive somewhere in there. She almost admired how intimidating and scary the other appeared. If only she could be so strong herself...
Alex finished his thought before turning towards to the lime-green pony and tapping his back with Alex's left hoof. "Hey, you said you have friends trapped in there? If that's the case, I'll be more than happy to help get them out." Alex said with a reassuring smile. "My name is Alex Night. What's your name?" Alex asked the lime-green pony.
As Electrobolt felt the hoof of this pony tap him on his back, he glanced over and saw that light-blue pony from not too long ago. Upon hearing him speaking up and seeing his calming smile, he himself turned around to face this new pony. As soon as the pony introduced himself, Electrobolt gave out a small smile himself. "It's nice to meet you, Alex. My name is---" he began, until yet another pony started to speak up from behind him...
@
Standing up, he suddenly said in response to Electro's request of help "Although you didn't ask me, I suppose that I can help out too. " Turning to Alex and Silver, he said "The name's Jack Stache. Now, are we going to head into that forest and save the ones who went in, or what?"
Upon hearing this, the lime-green pony thought, *Well, I think the saying is, 'The more, the merrier' or something like that...* As he turned around, his eyes met a blue unicorn with brown hair and a brown tail. But that wasn't the thing that stuck out to him. As he observed his face, he noticed he had a mustache. Although he kept a straight face on the outside, in his head, he was pretty much laughing at the sight. But he calmed his inside thoughts as he realized that this was a completely different world, so these sort of things are possible. Filled with curiosity, he glanced at the unicorn's hip and saw he had an image too, and it was almost similar to that on his own. Returning his attention to the small group around him, he felt he may as well introduce himself before anymore interruptions occur. "My name is Electrobolt. Pleased to meet the both of you."
"Although we wouldst not advise it, if thou dost insist on entering yonder forest then we shall accompany thee." Silver addressed the ponies that wanted to help their friends. Silver began considering the evidence. Most of them seemed fairly young. More or less around his age. He figured ponies their age probably wouldn't be doing anything threatening to the kingdom, so he decided to let his guard down.
A little.
He still kept cautious, and didn't entirely trust them. "It's dangerous to go alone, so it wouldst be logical that we go with thee since we have a form of defense." Silver added in a reason for going with them. They must have some foolish friends... Silver thought. Then he suddenly remembered something. "Before we go, wouldst thou be so kind as to tell us the year?" Silver asked trying to mask his interest.
As his attention turned to Silver, he was slightly curious. *Why would he be asking for the year...? Wait... Is he a time traveler? No... No, that can't be it... He has that odd accent on him...* Looking at the grey pony curiously, he was about to ask why the grey pony questioned about what the current year was, but then closed his mouth after realizing he had a bow and some arrows. *Probably shouldn't ask him that... Don't wanna get on his bad side...* As he was about to say something, yet another voice spoke up.
@
"Jack, and you... other guys. I'm not really so sure that's a good idea. Sure, we could try some kind of defensey thing. But... uh... well... to be blunt, most of us don't know what the heck's in there, first of all... secondly, just LOOK at that place. However, she did sound a bit more authoritive and sure of herself than usual, which was a good sign. She was... kind of getting used to this odd pony land.
As he looked to see who spoke up, a familiar pony came into view. It was that tan unicorn from when he first woke up in this new world. As he listened to her words, he felt that she was speaking wise words. Sure, they could rush in right away and try to find those ponies, but then again, they might get lost themselves and fall prey to the dangers that lurk within these dark, murky woods. And if what was said about that red pony was true, then perhaps the ponies in the forest didn't have to worry. Maybe. Although he still had his reservations about the ponies in the woods, the tan unicorn's words rang like a bell in his mind. *Hmm... She might be right... Maybe it'd be best if we waited for a few minutes before coming to any hasty decisions... But, still...* He then redirected his gaze to the foreboding Everfree Forest, before feeling a shiver run down his spine.
Ice watched as the two behind her followed her through. Thankfully it looked like they were going to make it out without any issues. She then continued her own way out while making sure Aurora was okay. As she felt the rays of light shed through as she passed out of the tree line, she felt Aurora start moving on her back. She paused her movement to make sure that Aurora didn't fall off of her. She heard her ask where they were. "It's okay, we're safe now. We just got out of the forest and approaching the rest of the group. I wonder what's been going on with them during that little expenditure in the forest," she said smile looking back towards the main group.
She watched as the red unicorn was confronted by the group asking what she had done to numbers, and there was another dark gray pony talking with a heavy accent asking what they were even doing around the Everfree forest. More conversation ensued about the matter as she waited there by the edge of the forest to make sure that the others got out. "How are you holding up? I don't know what you did, but I know from the magic that I used that it can use a large amount of energy. Is anything hurt or aching at all? Are you able to stand?" she asked Aurora genuinely concerned.
The attitude of that silver pegasus though was throwing her off. She absolutely despised those that were rude and he seemed to talk as if they came here on purpose and that they knew everything that was going on here. Of course there was no way for him to know that they had been teleported here, but she could already somewhat tell by his attitude that what they told him really wouldn't matter. She could already feel tensions rising between her and this other pony and she hadn't even had a chance to talk to him herself yet.
Serah exited the forest without much flourish, Number still laying unconscious across her. The ponies who'd decided to stay behind while the others ventured off into the forest all seemed to be pretty busy talking to one another, and didn't immediately notice their reappearance.
“Typical. Far be if from them to do anything. Ever.”
However, her return had not gone completely unnoticed, it seemed.
She saw the state of Numbers and thought something was up, managing to get her head out she jumped out landing near the group of ponies. She stood on her hind legs, slightly aggressively asking "What is going on here and what have you done with Numbers?" As she finished her sentence a couple of timberwolves howled in the distance. Changing her demeanor looking at the source of the sound she asked "What was that?"
“Why don't you go find out?” Serah asked coolly. “But don't expect me to carry you out too.”
Serah kneeled, depositing Numbers haphazardly on the ground. Then she stood up, mirroring the confrontational mare's pose. Rustling from behind marked the reappearance of the ice wielding pony, who was carrying Aurora on her back.
“We have wounded. In stable condition, but need rest. Important matters to discuss with everyone.” Serah explained to Tich. Serah looked around at all the gathered ponies, arching an eyebrow. “There seem to be more of you than last time.”
Standing up, he suddenly said in response to Electro's request of help "Although you didn't ask me, I suppose that I can help out too. " Turning to Alex and Silver, he said "The name's Jack Stache. Now, are we going to head into that forest and save the ones who went in, or what?"
Alex turned to his left to see yet another pony coming to join them and introduced himself to Alex. This pony was different, though. In fact, he was VASTLY different. This pony had a sky-blue body with light-green eyes as well as a horn on top of its head. Its mane as well as its tail were blonde. Not only that, but this pony also has a mustache and a goatee. "Huh. A unicorn with facial hair whose name is Jack Stache... I guess it fits." Alex thought. "Glad to have you on board, Jack. Name's Alex Night." Alex was about to motion to the both of them towards the forest when Silver stepped up to him.
"Although we wouldst not advise it, if thou dost insist on entering yonder forest then we shall accompany thee." Silver addressed the ponies that wanted to help their friends. "It's dangerous to go alone, so it wouldst be logical that we go with thee since we have a form of defense." Silver added in a reason for going with them.
Alex listened on as Silver spoke. When Silver mentioned that he had a form of defense, Alex assumed that he was talking about the bow on his back. Not wanting to turn down a helping hand, Alex nodded in kind to Silver. "Although we may not know what might be inside the forest, we'll be fine as long as we stick together." Alex thought as he looked towards the forest. He tried to not note of how eerie it looks now that he takes the moment to notice. Alex looked back to his little rescue party.
"Before we go, wouldst thou be so kind as to tell us the year?" Silver asked.
This question that Silver asked completely threw Alex off. Now that he thinks about it, he has no idea what time they were in either and was about to tell Silver until another voice spoke from a distance...
"Jack, and you... other guys. I'm not really so sure that's a good idea. Sure, we could try some kind of defensey thing. But... uh... well... to be blunt, most of us don't know what the heck's in there, first of all... secondly, just LOOK at that place. We can't just barge in there. we should wait a little longer for the others. I mean, we barely even know them. But I'm just concerned for my own safety...and I don't think it's prudent. But if I'm speaking... nonsense, you guys don't really have to listen or anything. I just... really really... don't advise it. I'm sure they're fine. I don't think... that scary red pony is one to go down for the count."
Alex turned around to see another unicorn. This one was tan colored with a mane that shared the same mix of red and brown hair as her tail. She also wore glasses on her face and appeared shorter than Jack. Alex noticed that her pitch was rising and falling as she spoke. He was getting the feeling that she seemed a little unsure of herself. Alex listened to her words and didn't like it one bit. However, he knew that her words were wise. "You may be right, but I would never forgive myself if somepony gets hurt in there and I didn't do a thing prevent that from happening." Alex told the tan colored pony with conviction. Wait a minute... "Did I just say 'somepony'?" Alex wondered. He pondered that thought for a few seconds before attempting to turn back to the task at hand.
She focused herself and barreled down towards the far end of the now dimming fires. The trail led them near outside of the forest once more. She flew towards them. She lost control of her flying at the last few meters and crashed into a nearby tree.
She saw the state of Numbers and thought something was up, managing to get her head out she jumped out landing near the group of ponies. She stood on her hind legs, slightly aggressively asking "What is going on here and what have you done with Numbers?" As she finished her sentence a couple of timberwolves howled in the distance. Changing her demeanor looking at the source of the sound she asked "What was that?"
Alex heard a crash off in the distance towards the trees and looked to see a winged pony just crashed head-on into a tree. "Ouch, that had to hurt." Alex thought. He got a better look at the winged pony as she got out of her crashed position. This winged pony had a violet body with a blue mane as well as a blue tail. She also seemed to be wearing a pair of goggles on top of her head and also had a strange image on her flank just like the shield Alex has on his flank. Wondering what has got her all riled up, he saw a red unicorn off in the distance coming out of the forest. "Look, I think that one red pony just came out of the forest. Let's go and find out what happened." Alex said towards the ponies next to him. Alex set off in a gallop towards the two ponies next to the treeline. Alex hastened after hearing the tell-tale howling of animals that were most likely wolves.
Ice watched as the two behind her followed her through. Thankfully it looked like they were going to make it out without any issues. She then continued her own way out while making sure Aurora was okay. As she felt the rays of light shed through as she passed out of the tree line, she felt Aurora start moving on her back. She paused her movement to make sure that Aurora didn't fall off of her.
As Alex got closer to the two ponies, he noticed a ice-blue unicorn staggering out of the forest with another unicorn on her back. "Well, I guess there is no need to go in the forest after all" Alex thought. Alex knew that they were still dangerously close to the forest and had to help get them away from the forest as soon as possible. Alex finally came to a stop to the new ponies.
“We have wounded. In stable condition, but need rest. Important matters to discuss with everyone.” Serah explained to Tich. Serah looked around at all the gathered ponies, arching an eyebrow. “There seem to be more of you than last time.”
Alex looked all at the ponies that came out as she spoke. Some of them were unconscious and some that were awake had cuts and bruises over them. Whatever they experienced in there, they were lucky to be alive. "It's a long story and I'll be happy to tell you all about it when we get a little further away from the forest. My name is Alex Night, by the way." Alex said. "Is this everyone?" He asked the group.
Y-you...think so? Well...I hope she isn't...close to dying...Oh yeah...um..thanks for....healing me.....but if you could do that...then....um...why not heal Aurora? I'm sure she'd appreciate it.." And then the thought of the toll healing has on the unicorn, "Oh.....I guess it takes up a lot of energy to heal a pony.....and I guess you'll need the energy to get out of this forest,"
"Well yes," Day replied to Starry. "It still does take a lot out of me but Aurora was mostly unhurt from the battle where as you had cuts and bruises all over you from tackling the timberwolf".
By this time, Ice storm and the other pony had already walked off with the two that were unconscious. It was just him and Starry left now.
"Oh....err...we should get going...but I was thinking.....Would you like me to lift you by the hooves? I was thinking that....maybe your too tired to trot.....so uh....would you like to experience flying?" Starry asked in a soft tone. "Err, just pray that I don't crash into a tree if you say yes, but I won't fly too high, I'll just..um..fly above the way out following Ice and Aurora." "I just hope I'll be fine"
"Well..." he said, thinking back to when he saw her in back the clearing, falling to the ground as well as when they found her in the forest which was most likely due to her crashing.
"I..." he started, then noticed the look she had on her face. It was one of hope and caring, which made Day feel sorry for her not being able to fly well just yet, and realized she was just trying to repay him for healing her twice. He also did feel rather tired and was unsure if he'd be able to walk back to the group on his own...
"Alright then, I'd love to" Day said smiling. "I just hope I don't regret this..." He thought.
@@Dave247,
Starry was delighted to hear Daylight's response, "Y-you will? Okay! So...um..I'll hold your hooves, then uh...I'll start flapping my wings, then we'll be up in the air, but that depends on how heavy you are" "Great, I've never lifted things while flying before, I guess this would be a test to see," She then jumped and hovered above him, then she held tight to his hooves "Okay....um..here goes..."
Before taking off, thoughts went around in her head again, "I just hope this will work, but I really have done it now, I can't even land properly, sigh, it's too late now, I'll have to do it because he said yes and I'd hate to disappoint him, after what he's done for me" Then her mind snapped back to reality "Oh, sorry about the delay...um...here we go....t-three......t-t-two.....o-one." She began flapping her wings faster to create lift, once they were four feet in the air, she started moving forward, it turned out that Daylight was lighter than she expected, and it was actually easier for her to fly, probably because the extra weight keeps her balanced, because she flaps her wings too hard.
Then Starry looked down at the ground, for some reason, it didn't terrify her, it's all because she decided to try and conquer her acrophobia, She noticed how beautiful and breathtaking the view is "Oh my, even a view above this dangerous place looks beautiful, don't you think so too?" She asked him, holding his hooves tight. Then she saw Ice and Aurora ahead on the ground, "Oh look! It's them!" Then she saw the red pony with the grey one, "And them too! Oh, and some new faces!"
Her brain having shook off the last vestiges of grogginess, Aurora blinked as she absorbed Ice Storm's words. T-the forest? Oh, right... The memories of the past hour flooded back to her, and Aurora breathed a sigh of relief as they neared the edge of the Everfree, eager to escape its dark depths.
"How are you holding up? I don't know what you did, but I know from the magic that I used that it can use a large amount of energy. Is anything hurt or aching at all? Are you able to stand?" she asked Aurora genuinely concerned.
"I-I'm fine," Aurora managed to say. Which wasn't exactly true - she still felt a little weak and lightheaded, but she didn't want to tire out Ice Storm any more than she already had. "I-I can walk..." Clumsily, she slid off of Ice Storm's back, just barely managing to land on her hooves before her knees buckled and she fell again. Angry at herself for her display of weakness, she leaped to her hooves again, and gave Ice Storm a small smile. "Thanks for carrying me out of the forest though...I-I'd hate to have get left as a lunch for the timber wolves." She circled the same spot to regain the feeling in her hooves, which were slightly numb.
Finally satisfied that she could walk on her own again, Aurora took a glance around her, looking for the other ponies. Daylight and Starry Sky should both be okay, she reasoned. Neither of them were *too* badly hurt...although Daylight must be exhausted from his continuous lighting spell. If-if anything happens to them, it's my fault...Trying to take her mind off of her concern for the two, she focused her attention instead on the new ponies nearby. Some of them she recognized, albeit barely - they had been in the clearing with her, but hadn't followed her into the forest. There was one that she didn't recognize at first sight, however, and she hastened to greet him.
Alex looked all at the ponies that came out as she spoke. Some of them were unconscious and some that were awake had cuts and bruises over them. Whatever they experienced in there, they were lucky to be alive. "It's a long story and I'll be happy to tell you all about it when we get a little further away from the forest. My name is Alex Night, by the way." Alex said. "Is this everyone?" He asked the group.
"W-we're still waiting for Daylight and Starry Sky," Aurora murmured to the stranger with a hint of worry in her voice. "I thi-" her voice was cut short by a shadow swooping overhead, and she glanced skywards to see the source of the commotion. "Oh...never mind, that's all of us," she said, relief seeping into her.
"Nice to meet you, Alex," she added cheerfully, holding out a hoof for him to shake. "Normally if I just met you ,I'd offer you a pastry, but I, um, dropped my hamper somewhere." She looked slightly embarrassed. "Sorry."
Silver's eyes widened slightly in shock as the pony named Alex went over to help the others that were coming out of the forest. That can't be... All of them made it out almost completely unharmed! He thought stunned. The forest was normally an incredibly dangerous place, that was difficult to go into without some sort of armed guard, or powerful magic. He couldn't believe they had only a few scratches and bruises.
He let out a sigh, turning towards the forest remembering his dark past with that place. The last time he had bee in the forest was when he was only seven years old. It terrified him and he was lucky to be alive. Now of course he was trained for places like that, but he wondered how much had changed.
He was a little disappointed that no one told him the year he was in, but a little confused as well. How could they not know the year of their own home land? It seemed a little suspicious but also quite intriguing. He wanted to learn more about these ponies now. Silver listened from afar as the ponies over towards the forest talked with each other. They generally seemed bewildered by everything and didn't really know how to walk or fly very well. Some walked awkwardly and some flew around with almost no clue how to control themselves.
They act like they hath never moved about before... Silver's suspicion turned to concern. They were either low on energy or there was something legitimately wrong with them. "What happened within yonder forest? Art thou alright?" Silver said approaching the new ponies. There was a bright blue unicorn, with a blue and white mane, a white unicorn with a red and orange mane who had just gotten off the light blue one's back, and there was a light blue pegasus with a purple mane and a yellow unicorn as well. How many of them were in yonder forest?
The white one looked like she was exhausted, so he didn't blame her for not walking entirely straight, but the others seemed a little more awake. (Except the one lying on the red unicorns back of course.) Then he noticed her. The red unicorn he had seen earlier was there coming out of the forest. He wasn't all that surprised she came out with next to no injuries, but she seemed very dangerous. Silver decided he would keep a close eye on her.
"Thou art fortunate to be alive. The Everfree forest is dangerous beyond belief. Why wouldst thou go in there without hesitation?" He asked. All suspicions he had before had turned into concern for the fortunate ponies. He almost ran over to help the red one with the pony on her back, but he paused when he remembered the destructive damage she had done earlier. Even if she was helping he didn't like the hostile look in her eyes. Albeit the one with the blue and white mane didn't look too friendly either.
"We shall save introductions for later, we must get thou someplace safe to rest." He said to the white unicorn, gesturing towards the others as well. It was only then that Silver realized he had no idea where any place they could rest might be. He had been asleep a while and didn't know the area that well. He wondered if any of these ponies knew what year it was... Then he realized that now wasn't the greatest time to ask that.
