For me, definitely how nice and welcoming the fanbase is.

It's been said many times in this thread, but I'd have to say the fanbase. They are unlike any fanbase I've ever seen before, and that's a good thing. Also, I love all the positive changes (AKA I am far more positive and happy now) I have gone through because of being a Brony.

Mostly because of how nice, welcoming and friendly bronies are, but also because of how creative and talented they can be. They create such masterpieces with music, art, animations and fictions that always put a smile on my face~

 

It feels so wonderful to be around such an amazing community like this one... For me, our love, friendship or whatever you wanna call it goes much beyond the TV show...

As said by MANY above me, the fanbase. This is a fantastic community and people are very friendly and accepting, which is the main reason I post here rather than lurk like I do on other forums.

 

Of course, there is also the user created content, such as the awesome music, artwork and even video game mods. Fan created content was one of the things that got me curious about the show in the first place.

The community is the first thing that springs to mind. It's so rare to have a group of people, especially as large as this, devoted to a certain thing and be so non-confrontational about it all. Sure, there's a few rifts here and there, but overall and when compared to other fanbases, this one is certainly the nicest, most helpful, accepting and fun-loving there is.

 

However, I think the greatest asset of bronyism (I like that word. Just thought I'd throw that out there.) is the inspiration it brings. It helps people aspire to their ambitions and dreams, and brings a flood of creativity to arts of all kinds. Just look at all the fanfics, the music, the artwork, the games, and all the other media inspired by MLP. It's almost unbelievable to think a kids show about colorful ponies could instigate such marvelous creations.

 

All of this really shows the true character of the show, and its followers. There is just nothing like what we have, there never has been, and maybe never will be again. I think we're all incredibly lucky to have this show, and that we discovered it and are able to partake in the greatness that it is, and make it greater through our own creations.

I love the Brony community because All of the Bronys I've met so far are very kind hearted, nice, generious, caring, well mannered, polite, and very very fun to talk to . Bieng a Brony is awesome because you get to be around all other F.i.M lovers that I could honestly call friends, along with a side note that there are some Bronys you meet that aren't the nicest, they're still Way better than what they'd be outside the Brony fandom . Bieng a Brony shows that you don't believe in gender specififc media, or that "you're too old for cartoons". What I love the most is the Bronies themselves, they're the greatest people i've ever met since England, and that's something this world lacks vastly, all the things Brony's have or have greater in positives is what most the world doesn't have and needs. /)

What I love is the fact that anyone from any background can feel safe and welcome in the the community, and won't have to fight about every little thing, us Bronies literally own the green zones of the internet! It doesn't matter if you're a guy or a girl, white or black or brown (or whatever other mundane skin color you can think of), Atheist or Agnostic or Christian or Jewish or Muslim or Buddhist or Hindu or Sikh, it doesn't matter! There may be some debate on those subjects, but they stay civil and don't turn into insulting, incoherent dribble like it is elsewhere on the internet. Needless to say, Bronies are the peacekeepers of the internet, and it is our job to set a good example to our fellow Web surfers so that they may think twice before insulting someone over some debate.

What do I love about being a Brony? Where to begin? I love that we have such good Musicians and fanfics. I just love the shirts that are made for our show. I love that we have such good artists. And Most of all I love every single person who is a fan of this show. They are all so respectful for each other. My favorite thing is when you meet a brony in real life and you immediately start to bond over it. It's so great to find someone else that likes something that is unique, unknown, or ever not generally accepted. Alas, I have yet to meet any on campus. I'll have to break out the pony shirts.

Oh boy, where do I start. For starters this show brightens up my life. Generally I am a slightly depressing person, and I depend on the positive energy I get from the people around me. I am constantly relating everything to MLP, because it cheers me up. This show has also shown me that what society defines as masculinity, has all been lies. Society says that men have to be tough, watch things with guns and explosions, but says who. What is for girls and what is for guys is irrelevant, if you enjoy something why not continue to enjoy it. It also brings out the creative side in people. Just look at the sheer amount of fan music, art, PMVs, and all of the other talent that has come out of the fandom. It's a shining example of how talented we are as a community. Finally, the community as a whole is the most welcoming and kind community I have ever been fortunate enough to be apart of. No other community can share their opinions, disagree about issues or ideas, and still be one big family. So on behalf of me, however much that matters, thanks for being such a welcoming community.

The show at first but when I dug a little deeper I started to love the community. Out of all the fandoms i've seen in my life this one is not only the nicest but most charitable one I've seen. Plus the amount of content that comes out everyday and new people that join make me happy and proud to be part of this community. Dunno, to be honest.

 

Unlike so many others here, it hasn't radically changed my life or anything. I'm still a sarcastic twenty-something that likes to go for the laugh. I was nice to others and generally enjoyed life before I started watching the show.

 

I will say that it's nice to be a part of something from the early stages and watch it grow. This forum has been my most direct line to the fandom (as I never really posted on EqD, just looked at the stuff), and got here as the 27th member. Seeing it become a 6,000+ (!!!) user forum has been a cool experience. So, there's that.
