I honestly don't think that's going to happen. We're just a small demographic of people who watch a show; so what? I'm Jewish, so I regularly visit a Jewish school, Holocaust Memorials, and synagogues. Not once has there even been a lockdown that wasn't a drill. Believe me, if there was anyone a man armed with a machine gun wanted, it would be us, not the bronies.

Well, I suppose there is a homicidal maniac out there to get the fandom, but such event would be unlikely. If that ever happens, I don't want to go through a metal detector or anything like that. 

 

 

I'm surprised some people actually think this may happen. While there are those out there who hate us, its not the kind of hate that drives people to murder other ethnic groups in large numbers. If a group of bronies were gunned down by someone it would more likely be a coincidence that they were simply in the path of someone who has lost it and decided to go on a rampage (Much like the Batman shootings).If anything the kind of person who would do something like that probably doesn't even know that much about bronies or MLP.

I hate to say this, but I am scared of this. We are the biggest fandom in the world (Or at least the largest-growing fandom) and to be...exterminated makes me really sad that the world has become so corrupt. Maybe it is already corrupt. What the heck, of course it is. It makes me wonder why haters hate, but haters gonna hate.

 

 

First of all big conventions like that have lots of security so no one would be getting in with a machine gun or a gun of any kind. So no that's not going to happen. Attacks on bronies already happen from assholes who say we're gay and jerk off to pony porn. So mass murders no, small attacks and bullying yes.

I agree that no mass-murders will be very likely in the future. I can see bullying and all that, but no actual murders.

 

 

As with a majority of the others, I find this particular event to be highly unlikely.

 

However, OP does bring up a very good point. Sometimes, people just flip their lid. Maybe the to-be psycho was harassed by a certain brony extremist. Maybe they had a strange, mentally scarring, horse-related incident as a child. A great number of things can easily shift into place to produce such a person - A sort of Butterfly Effect.

 

It's just like the many tales of the white-supremists and anti-gay extremists who turned out to have been assaulted by people of other ethnicities and homosexual offenders.

I agree that a mentally-scarred person may inflict violence based on something that happened that made him/her angry, and is using violence to solve their personal issues. That is the only scenario I can see actual murder.

No one is so crazy that they would storm a brony convention and commit mass murder. I highly doubt that you have to orry about being killed for liking a show, many people troll us, but i have never heard of someone getting physically violent against people becasue of watching MLP.

I don't really care about Brony haters (I love and tolerate them.) like trolls on the Internet, they are near harmless, just plain ignore them. I do however care about Brony haters that go out of their way to harass people they know in real life to be Bronies though.

 

I do fear it's only a matter of time for some super insane Brony hater psychopath armed with a machine gun is going to storm a Bronycon in the future and then proceed to shoot and mass murder many Bronies at the Bronycon. Don't say, it won't happen, when it comes to crazy people, anything can happen. So should we be prepared for something like this?

 

I hung out with a few haters, like gligar13. However, actually, the brony haters aren't that bad. The brony haters I hang out with, we just make fun of the rabid bronies and that's pretty much it.

And they could not do a mass shooting, they can just set up a bomb in some reclusive location around the Baltimore Convention Center or any center where they are hosting a pony convention and just blow it up. Not also would it be unexpected but a lot of bronies would die fast.

 

I'm not being an anti brony but however there is always that scenario where they are using bombs instead of guns and rifles. Why does anything have to revolve around guns when you have explosives?

My best guess is that building your own explosives requires a longer plan cycle, where guns have a shorter time-before-murder phase. Yes, you can kill more extensively with bombs, but maybe the time it takes for construction gives the nutjob longer to chicken out.

It'd be in the news, yes, but I have a feeling the type of convention would be glossed over in the media, making it a 'My Little Pony' convention in order to slant the viewer towards an automatic assumption of 'they killed little girls' reaction. We're dealing with news here, not facts.

This is exactly the reason. I read on a Cracked.com article that simply taking guns away from people makes them less likely to commit suicide. They do not seek out ways to do it, but using a gun makes it so much easier to go with your impulses. Using a knife, a bomb, a noose, whatever - it all takes more effort. So they do not even bother.

 

It is the same thing with murders. Guns are available, and can be used on impulse. And unfortunately, they get the hard blame for many, many tragedies. :/
