Everypony, take you seats. Time for a lesson about the UBF2 Scandal.

 

Alright, a while ago, we had a rather... bad situation pop up on the MLP forums. I'm not totally sure if this is common around here, but a lot of us were surprised and shocked when it happened

 

 

On august 21, there was a topic posted in the General Discussion area by a member we had not seen before. It was titled "My girlfriend left me today"

Despite the fact that it was in the completely wrong section, a lot of the members tried to help out, give some encouragement, and give advice, as any brony would (some of the posts there weren't that, but for the most part we tried to help)

 

Sometime the next day, Songbrony sent me a message on skype telling my about the thread (I immediately assumed it was our friend Greg, since we think he's a brony and his girlfriend was being mean about it, but that a story for another time)

 

When I got to the thread. This was UBF2's latest post.

 

"Guys I managed to get her to come over to my house in around a half an hour. I'm going to let her log in to my account and talk with you guys okay? Try to convince her."

 

Immediately, I started to type a letter to the girlfriend. A couple minutes before I finished, UBF2 posted again.

 

"Yo. This is his girlfriend. I can't believe I'm actually talking here.

 

Anyway he said you could convince me he's mature enough or somethin."

 

I thought i was really lucky that I sent that letter right at that time. I was sure she'd see it! Well, uh, it didn't work out that well.

this is where the madness starts. I'll let you read this on your own. Trust me, it's not pretty.

 

Scootacool locked the thread after a while (THANK YOU, FOR THAT). And I was discussing this whole thing on skype with Songbrony and kotakotakota. We all were genuinely worried for the guy, and REALLY angry at the girl for what she said. (i wont show what we said, for obvious reasons).

 

Well, the day after the "Scandal", I saw a PM from a member named Seriousity (you got to admit, that's a cool name. I also liked his avatar a lot ). He sent this to a lot of the guys posted in that thread.

 

"I see you posted in ultimatebronyfan2's thread. I am a member of Kongregate.com, and ultimatebronyfan2 is actually a troll from that site. He made a thread on the forums bragging about his "accomplishment". I'm very sorry for any inconvenience he has caused you. He is banned almost daily from Kongregate, but continues to return on alternate accounts."

 

That Kongregate thread is pretty convincing proof. It was also a wake up call for me saying "Hey, there are still haters/trolls out there"

 

I personally had an "Anony, you are really dumb" moment. Why did we not think of that? Troll explained everything. Later that day, I told Songbrony the news. He sorta figured it out on his own.

 

So, why am I writing this at 3:00 AM? Mostly, insomnia. However, I do think we should learn from this event in case another troll like that pops up on the site.

 

If you were there when this happened, how do you feel about it? If you have no clue what I'm talking about, has this thread enlightened you?

Wow, that's just wow. I thought that was generally a problem when I first looked at that thread but wow. And I thought the guys over at Kongergrate were more understanding than that...

yeah this was quite a few days ago... i had a laugh about it and moved on and tryed to stop people from going over to Kongergrate to cause trouble, not sure if it worked or not.

also its a obvious fact that this site would attract trolls so its best to just move on.

 

now for a little rant

this situation was resolved via one big private message which the whole point of it being private was so it is not open to everyone just the ones who fell for the trolls trick making a thread about it makes it all mute

 

Edit: also when dealing with troll in any situation.... this is the worse thing to do because you have just given the troll his 15 minutes, whether he knows it or now.

I kinda figured he was a troll when he got his "girlfriend" to post there.

I felt sorry for the guy, but now that I see this thread, I can't help but give a bit of a chuckle. get a bit mad at the guy. Though it's a bit funny now that I saw it was trolled. I get trolled all the time, and am an expert troll myself. Though I don't do it on here...or do I? All I really do as a troll is do captions.

I didn't post there but I did read and at the time I was genuinely worried for the guy cause he was in a tough situation and this situation wasn't to farfetched, I could honestly see it happening to someone. Anyway once his "girlfriend" went on the amount I cared started to drop rapidly. I heard it was a troll shortly after it was locked and it makes perfect sense.

This is why I used to avoid talking to people so much. A lot of people suck. But there are plenty of awesome people out there, too, so we'd miss out on a lot if we just let one rotten apple spoil the whole barrel. In situations like these, the best thing to do is to act with civility. If it's a forum like this, report the person and move on. If the situation was made clear after everything had been said and done, move on and forget the person existed, because they don't matter to you, and there's no use getting in a huff over it.

 

Sometimes, people suck. Now, let's go home and play video games.

-Turn gay

-Worship Satan

-Immature

 

Seriously, the kindest word I could use to describe her is "Bitch". She would actually perform perjury in Court and break an oath to God just to keep her child away from their Dad over what, a kids' cartoon? That's sad, and I feel ashamed for the little kid. So many baseless claims and irrelevant posts, and she even thinks that she has the right to dictate the kid's life, EVEN the type of music they listen to.

 

Thank goodness it was locked before it could break into complete chaos. I was worried whether the bronies could have kept up their incredibly tolerant and assisting attitudes for much longer. Let's hope that Ultimatebronyfan2 was permanently banned (to keep his GF from posting anymore stupid comments) and that the child of his gets to have an open-minded life where what he likes and believes in isn't decided by his dreadful mother.

I should point out that this is really the forum I've been a part of, so I really have never really had to deal with trolls. A lot of us have that same problem.

Well, uh, I sorta live by a bit of a rule that people deserve the benefit of the doubt (sure, laugh at me, I dont care ). So, when that problem arose, I assumed it was just another brony that needed some help. I may look like a laughing stock, but I really care, since my conscience is clear. I personally think that caring is our best weapon against the haters and trolls (i could sound for inspirational, but not right now)

I've never come across a brony troll before. I was beginning to think they were a myth So my reaction speaks for itself.
