gaming Played GTA: Vice City for the first time last night

Well, I can say this: The GTA games...well they aren't fantastic like people make them out to be, they really aren't. But they are good enough for what they are. When I played GTAIII a few months ago I was surprised at how mediocre it was, it's only saving grace was it's semi-good story.

Enter Vice City which I played last night, it's not fantastic like the other one but it's better. It's got better everything: story, missions and the radio. (Plus one to the radio for playing Slayer's Raining Blood the first time I turn it on the rock station. lol)

I'll say this, if the games keep getting better from this one they might actually turn out to be pretty good by the time I get to GTAIV, but I'll actually have to buy that one. I got GTAIII, VC and SA in a trilogy collection for 20 bucks.

But I can say this easily: Unlike most of my games these three really don't feel all that special in my collection. I could have done without them easily and I don't feel any special attachment to them like 99% of my other games.

And yes, I am fully aware that these games were revolutionary when they came out.

I'll wait until get done with VC (Whether I beat it or get bored with it like I did with GTAIII) before I start on SA. I hear there's an annoying feature in SA though, where the main character can get fat if you don't exercise regularly or something.

I agree that pretty much all GTA games arent as good as people make them out to be (Except SA, i think that was a good as people say it was) and the only reason GTA4 is one of my favourite games is because of it story. Cant remember Vice City that well in all honesty, ill need to re-play it again sometime.

Best thing i can remember about it? It wasent that hard to get an ice-cream truck...

... I know I'm probably going to be alone in this, but...

GTA and GTA2 are still my favorites; I've never liked any of the 3D games.

I've never played the first two, but i'm not a big fan of the 3D GTA games.

San Andreas and Vice City were my favorites. I also have China town wars. For San Andreas, I would steal a car, use cheats and fly the car all over the land. Yes, fly. Oh boy it was such fun. For Vice City, I had all sorts of weapons cheats, and would target cars and snipe people in the head until I have 6 stars. I have a special rooftop which I would hide on. Only helicopters can make it up there. Armed with a rocket launcher, Helicopters aren't a big threat as well. Also, to stop cops from following my tank, I would use the tank cheat while driving the tank over and over, until there is a large pile of tanks behind me, blocking the police. I would then blow the tanks up. China town Wars wasn't as great, but it was fun as well. I dealt with drugs and blew up gas stations.

Aside from the cheats, I agree that the stories are somewhat mediocre, not too much excitement to it.

I've actually never really gotten a chance to play them much. I played the first one a bit but when I did...Oh god I couldn't deal with the controls. Bird's Eye View + Tank controls - Camera control = suuuuckage.

I'm one of the lucky ones that got to play GTA2 back in the day, the overhead camera was so cool.

I have to find myself in the right mood to play a GTA game, alot of people seem to have fun just driving around and running people over but that gets boring to me rather quickly. I do love the stories though, sometimes they get all intense and make me feel like a real mob guy.

Story is without a doubt the best part of the GTA games I've played. I'm also not the type to mindlessly drive around and do nothing until after I've beaten a game and only if I really like it. With the GTA games it's not likely I'll do that much at all.

The only other thing that will actually get me riding around randomly is the radio. I listen to VROCK all the time cuz it has Iron Maiden and Slayer on it. <.< >.>

Wait until you get to Grand Theft Auto 4. Amazing story, incredible gameplay, and the graphics were unsurpassed for 2008. Speaking of the story, here's a picture of GTA 4's script compared to GTA 3's.

GTA San Andreas is the best GTA game atm, so much stuff to do and so much randomness.

while gta iv is good and all but.. its kinda small and youre always in the city while on san andreas you can go to the country n stuff :D

i didnt like Vice City that much probably the main thing was that you couldn't swim.. now i played vice city after san andreas if it was the reverse id probably like vice city more than i do. i remember once in that helicopter that could land on water. and i landed to hard on the water so water idk touched his pants or somthing and i lost like 50 health.. dafaq?
