Amnesia

This, awesome game if not for the fact that it is terrifying.

Personally I'd go with 3D Dot Game Heroes for PS3.

Very nostalgic, it's what you get when you mix Lego and Zelda.

I'd like to thank the MLP Vector Club for the images used in my avatar.

Known as "Princess Mi Amore Cadenza", "Trixie the Great", "Tom" and "Tomzoid the EggDroid".

The Monster Hunter games are one of my favourite series of all time.

They aren't really obscure but they are pretty low profile outside of Asia, from what I can tell.

I can't make signatures.

Sooo... yeah

I'd have to say Tekken the shooting game for the PS1. It's got overshadowed by the fighting game.

Woah woah woah...there was a shooting game called Tekken?

...that is totally new to me, I must know about this now.

As for obscure games I personally love:

Treasures of the Deep (PS1) - A kickass game that starts out like a normal treasure-hunting game underwater for secret treasures, but then takes a huge twist into stopping a mad scientist from melting the polar ice caps.

Live-A-Live (SNES) - An obscure RPG by Squaresoft of seven heroes across human history that was never released outside of Japan but translated into English by ROM hackers. Finished it four times now, STILL love both it and the soundtrack.

The Misadventures of Tron Bonne (PS1) - A spin-off of the Mega Man Legends games following the crazy exploits of the Bonne Pirates. Immensely fun and crazy-awesome.

The Parodius series - a shooter series by Konami parodying their own Gradius series. Incredibly Japanese in its humour with GLORIOUS soundtracks that are remixes of both public domain songs and Konami game music. Special faves of mine are Gokujou Parodius on the SNES/PS1/Arcade, and Sexy Parodius on the PS1/Sega Saturn/Arcade.

The Fatal Frame Series (PS2) - Not HUGELY obscure but certainly underrated ghost-hunting survival horror that freaks me out IMMENSELY because I'm scared of ghosts, but at the same time thrills me with its ideas.

And finally Hogs of War (PS1) - An RTS strategy game parodying World War II, with six national teams played entirely by pigs trying to reach the Isle of Swill. Immensely fun, gruellingly challenging and somewhat offensively-funny (but every country is made fun of so it's okay and not picking on any ONE specific nation).

...I totally forgot Misadventures of Tron Bonne. I've had the game for so long I totally didn't think of it as obscure. lol

I also forgot another good game I've only played a little of but love: Silent Bomber on PS1.

I think all of the Megaman Legend games (including Tron's game) need to be remade with a better shooting mechanic. I believe a third person shooter control system would be far better than the crappy lock on that they have. Leave lock-on to games like Zelda, MML would serve better with TPS controls.

I can still remember the look on her face when they found out they robbed a pet hospital, priceless!

What I wouldn't give to have games come out now that are half as good as some of those older games. Other than a few gems everything lately has kind of been going down hill... :(

OOPS, SORRY

THE BANK'S IN THE NEXT TOWN OVER

Now I'm just imagining the entire incident like one of those "Downloading is illegal".

YOU WOULDN'T RAID A HOUSE

YOU WOULDN'T STEAL FROM HIS FRIDGE WHILE WATCHING MEGA MAN

YOU WOULDN'T ROB HIM OF HIS TURKEY LEGS AND THEN BLOW UP HIS HOUSE ANYWAY

AND THEN DO IT AGAIN FIVE TIMES

YOU WOULDN'T EVEN WAIT FOR THE POLICE TO ARRIVE

AND THEN STEAL THEIR WHEELS

AND THEN SELL THEM ON THE BLACK MARKET

Piracy, is an illegal CRIME.

Doesn't look like much, but no other game I've ever played has been nearly as skill oriented as Giants was online. You had to pay attention to your jetpack/shield energy, your ammo levels, the terrain, your grenade count (used mostly for propulsion), your mine count (used mostly as a last-ditch countermeasure against incoming proximity missiles due to how they worked), and all sorts of other things x_x

... the fact that it was so difficult to get good at is probably why so few people played it. :V

I dont remember if this has been posted yet, but Mechwarrior 4.

oh god, the many, many hours I sank into that game. sooooo good.

in case you dont know: a galactic civil war fought mainly in giant, fully customizable mechs. it had awesome gameplay. squad based battles, suprisingly good AI, and no real way to cheat; a lot of games like that with fully customizable stuff have ways to get pretty much unstoppable. MW4 doesnt have that, no matter how thick your armor is, how big your guns are, or how fast you run, you can always get taken down if you aren't smart about it. oh, and there are soooooo many awesome weapons and ways to use them to destroy everything :)

oh, and the best part? it got re-released for free to hype the announcement of a series reboot. check out this site to get it for free. it has a redone multiplayer system (the original sucked horribly), and now has content updates again :D

Signature now 99% less edgy!

LSD dream emulator.

Oh lord yes. That's a game that's never been out of Japan right? I seen LPs of it but jeez is it messed up.

In the awesome kind of way I like.

------------

Also to add to this topic, the STRIKE series. A series of games from 1990 to 1998 that had you flying a helicopter for a covert ops force who storm into evil dictatorial regimes and mess their shit UP.

Desert Strike dealt with a Saddam Hussein copy trying to rule his desert nation.

Jungle Strike dealt with the son of the Hussein copy making arms deals with a Colombian drug dealer to take revenge on the USA.

Urban Strike dealt with the Colombian drug dealer masquerading as a powerful US news mogul intent on militarizing the USA into his personal fortress nation. The game is also slightly infamous for having a mission involving...okay, the game is set in 2001 but it was made in 1994, I'll let you figure that out.

Soviet Strike is a reinvention of the series and jumps to 3D to deal with an ex-KGB mastermind intent on bringing back Soviet Russia with all kinds of insane plots ranging from asylum workers in Ukrainian salt mines to raiding Afghani factories to assassinating Boris Yeltsin.

And finally Nuclear Strike dealt with a Cajun expatriate armed with a nuclear weapon with the intention to start World War 3 for some bullshit reason. Also features Chinese pirates and a Kim Jong-Un lookalike nuking his own city to blame it on the South Koreans.

I love this series so much.

Probably nobody heard of this one, it's very underrated. It's called The Neverhood, it's a puzzle game, a very hard one indeed. Another game from the same company it's Skullmonkeys, an adventure game which is REALLY hard too, it's the sequel of The Neverhood. I totally recommend those games for people who like stop-motion or claymation, these 2 games are made of clay.

Another game from the same team it's Boombots, it's a fighting game, pretty easy and very fun to me, but not totally good as the previous games.

Sorry for double reply, i forgot to indicate which system these can be played.

The Neverhood: PC in english or PSX in japanese.

Skullmonkeys and Boombots: PSX.

Heeeeeeeey yeah! I know that game! I never played it, but I know of it well. Had a pretty sweet soundtrack as well, very acoustic.
