Dave had been following the other ponies from a distance when suddenly a thick fog obscured his vision. He could only see a few feet in front of him but, reluctantly, he kept walking. Soon the fog cleared but he could no longer see the other ponies. He was alone. He called out, "Is anyone there!?" but no one answered. He just stood there for a while trying to figure out what to do. He decided his only option was to keep going. After a while he came upon a dead end. "This can't be right", he thought. He had been following the same path from the beginning. "I should have run into the others by now. There was nowhere else for them to go."

To HappyMaskPony: Suddenly the room seems darker and colder. The masks all fall off of the statues. Suddenly, the Slendermane appears before HappyMaskPony, shaking his head. There is a letter in front of HappyMaskPony. "The keys lie within the maze. Harmony is the key. You cannot solve this alone." It would seem that these were the wrong masks.

 

To Dave: Dave turns around and sees a gateway that hadn't been there before. He goes through the gateway and finds himself standing on a platform. He looks over the edge, and cannot see the bottom. In front of him is several raised platforms on pillars. It looks like a pony could jump from one to another. On the other side of the chamber is a pedistal with a rainbow colored mask. It looks important.

The Happy mask Pony sighs, and gathers up all of the fallen masks.

"I was afraid that something like this would haopen. The easiest solution never is the best, it seems. I suppose this means we have to do a bit of exploring. Ah, well. It's been a while since I've had a good adventure, especially with a companion such as yourself. I'm the Happy Mask Pony. Pleased to be at your service. And you are?"

He turns toward the unicorn, wearing a friendly smile on his face.

Dave can't believe what he's seing. "How can this be?" Sure he's seen unicorn magic, but this was different. Unicorns can't make entire rooms appear out of nowhere. He walks through the gateway and approaches the first platform. He notices the mask on the other side of the room. "Maybe that can give me a clue as to what's going on here." He looks down and gulps. "I'd better fly across. I don't want to risk falling".

"Hi..."Lyra is still baffled as to what this pony just did, and not sure if she should trust him...

"I...I'm...Lyra. Nice to, uh, meet you..." She walks up to Happy Mask Pony and shares a friendly, but nervous smile.

She looks at the statues, each blank and dull. She wonders if the faces are supposed to be missing. Maybe they represent something...

Then it hit her. When she was with Garth earlier in the maze, she saw a mask of an orange pony. Garth couldn't get to the mask, since it was guarded by a door. It was so obvious! She needed to go back to where she left Garth, and get the mask somehow... Maybe, there were others too! She recalled other ponies going separate ways at the beginning of the maze, maybe they have found the others!

She turned to Happy Mask Pony, who had gone back to studying the statues over again. "I know what we need to do!" she screams. She explains everything she remembered and her idea as to what to do. "What do ya think?" she asks...

The Happy Mask Pony smiles.

"I think that you are a very intelligent pony. Do you think you can find the place where you found the orange mask? I might have a better chance than you at getting it, seeing as I have this." he pulls out the mask of truth, allowing Lyra to handle it.

"This mask makes what is hidden once again visible. I'm sure it will come in very handy, and there's plenty more where that came from. I'll let you hang on to that for now, but remember: you break it, you buy it! Let's be off."

"Well, I don't really remember how to get back..." Lyra explained. "I wasn't really paying attention when I ran here..." then Lyra remembered the mask of truth... "wait, could this mask show me how to get back? I mean, the location that we need is now hidden, and we need it to be visible again! it should work, right?"

To Happy Mask Pony and Lyra: Slendermane appeared before them and nodded. He was showing them that they were on the right path.

 

To St. Pinkie: Fa managed to stop herself with the rope. She looked up and saw an opening. It was dark, and she couldn't see what was beyond it. She could hear the sound of somepony crying from the opening. She could climb up the rope to the room above. She looked around. The puzzle box was close enough to grab.

(Well, because of protests against bad roads creating a roadblock to the beach, I can't go. Using my uncle's internet receiver.)

 

After figuring out that there was no pattern with how the boulders moved, Garth decided to use his brute strength like usually. Hours later, Garth arrived to the pedestal battered and bruised. He looks up at the orange mask and sees that it has an earth ponies' face. He takes it down and says, "What is this supposed to be? A mask?" He puts it in a bag and looks around. He sees that other than the entrance, the only other passages were the ones with boulders passing through. Running back to the entrance, he sees that the middle hole has a door at it's end, but the boulders pass through from that one across to the other passage. After getting further battered and bruised, he enters the door. He sees nothing. It is a dark room.

The Happy Mask Pony was somewhat surprised by slendermane's sudden appearance. However, now that he knew where to go, it didn't bother him very much. He had seen stranger things. Much, much stranger things.

"Well, if this is the right way, then I suppose we had best be going."

He pulled out a small knife from his bag, with which he then proceeded to make a very large X on the wall. Putting the knife back into his bag, he motioned for his companion to come along with him. As they walked, He started up a conversation with Lyra.

"You know, I've heard of a pony like Slendermane in legends before, though I can't say I've seen him myself. He's quite an interesting character."

"i've never even heard of him..." Lyra replied. " though, I am very curious as to what you've heard about him!" she said, expecting HMP to tell her about him.

(My apologies, this post is pretty lengthy..)

 

Bon Bon walked up to the mask. She tried to pick it up, but was stopped by what seemed to be an invisible wall.

 

Growing increasingly frustrated, Bon Bon started walking around the pedestal. The wall encompassed it on all sides, without any openings.

 

''This is stupid," Bon Bon muttered to herself. "I came all the way over here, only to find that there isn't even anything I can do! It's like the maze is taunting me!"

 

Bon Bon angrily kicked out with her hindleg, connecting with a nearby tree with a satisfying thud.

 

She heard rustling from behind her, followed by a small chirp that sounded like a small bird. Bon Bon turned around, and sure enough there was a baby bird on the ground struggling to get to it's feet. Above it on a low branch was a nest. All her frustration melted away at the sight of it, and she walked towards it.

 

"So there are a living things in this maze after all," said Bon Bon. "Well, I'd better get you back up to your nest..."

 

Bon Bon gently picked up the bird and began climbing up the tree, which thankfully was on an angle making for easy climbing. When she got to the top, she placed the bird back in the nest.

 

"There you g-"

 

A bright flash coming from the pedestal startled her, and Bon Bon fell from the tree. On a hunch, she walked over to the mask, and the force field was gone. She slung the seemingly useless mask onto her back and headed for the canoe.

 

"This better have been worth it.."

"Well... Lyra, was it? Anyways, where I come from there is a legend that speaks of 'The Slender One.' He is old, almost as old as the world itself. He is said to steal unsuspecting ponies to participate in his twisted games. His appearence is an omen of massive change. There's more to this, but I think that should about cover it for now."

He pauses to listen to the environment, taking in all sorts of various information on the course before him. Suddenly, he smiles.

" Ah, good. There's someone up ahead."

To Linguz: Garth looked around. He was in a dark tunnel of some kind. It looked like he was underground. After walking for a bit, he came to a dimly lit cave. In the center of the cave was a small torch with a strange blue flame. Behind the torch was a giant ice crystal. Inside the crystal, Garth could see another pediastal with a white and purple mask. Etched into the crystal was a message. "Be generous with your warmth."

"Oh open up damnit!" Cried Fa. After that wild ride ruffled her mane she quickly grabbed hold of her chopstick and tied her hair as it was.

 

The puzzle box remained shut. Nothing happened. The only sound that she heard was a faint crying.

 

"Hello?" Fa called out. The crying continued. She decided to follow her ears to wherever it was coming from.

 

And then she found a door. She was positive. That's where the crying was coming from.

"Oh great! Another mask, who am I? HappyMaskPony?" he read the inscription, "and what is 'Be generous with your warmth' supposed to mean? I'm the only one here."

 

He walked up to the crystal and punched it. "Ouch. Guess that won't work." He grabbed the torch and tried to melt the ice to no avail. With the torch still in hand, he checked the sides of the cave.

 

On all sides, there was a thin layer of ice covering what looked like small holes. Waving the torch, the ice melted. Furry creatures came out of the holes and began to follow him. at the end, he had 30 odd followers.

 

Putting the torch back in its original slot, Garth walked away and let the creatures gather around it. They each took a part of the stick and got some of the fire, the last one taking everything left, and proceeded to go back to their home.

 

The light and heat faded to nothing. The crystal began to melt. Next to the mask was a torch. Garth took the mask and put it with the other and took the torch and used it to light his way.

 

He saw no tunnel other than his entrance, so he flew up to see the roof. Finding a hole, he flew up it and found a trapdoor. After passing the trapdoor, he looked back to see it had disappeared. Looking around, he had two choices. He took the left path and soon found himself face to face to a door. He entered it.

(I think that the only masks left are Pinkie Pie and Twilight. By the way, the hint for Twilight is Friendship is Magic.)

(Rainbow Dash's mask is with Apple Bloom/Dave. He is in the room, but hasn't gotten the mask yet. St. Pinkie/Fa is getting close to Pinkie's mask.(I didn't even plan it that way. It just sort of happened. ))

(OK. Well, I guess I should make my guy move.)

 

Once inside, he turns back. The door has disappeared like before. "What the hell is up with this labyrinth?" he sees six statues. Each of them lacks a face. "HappyMaskPony would know what to do, but he went off in some other directions." Looking around, he sees no exit so he sits down. Reading the note that Slendermane had left, he said, "I guess I'm the first to arrive. Might as well wait for everypony else."

Slendermane appears before Garth. We walks over and sits down next to him. It looks like he is waiting with him.

Garth looks at Slendermane. "So... Now we just wait here for everypony to come with all six masks?"

The Happy Mask Pony (not HappyMaskPony, by the way,) stops in his tracks and stands perfectly still for a long time. Lyra watches his strange behavior curously. Finally, after about a minute he...sneezes.

"looks like somepony is talking about me." He grins. "Something tells me that we should go back. Say what you like, but I've never been wrong before. I have sort of a... precognition, if you will." He immediately turns back and begins walking toward the room with the statues. They were only a few dozen yards from the room anyways. He smiles.

"That, and I happen to hear a griffon mumbling to himself nearby."
