I'd rate myself 4/10

I rate myself 8/10 since I don't want to buy something, or use something without fully understanding what it is, and how to use it.

Not that picky but usually restaurant food is very good quality to begin with that is why, though I usually go to places you eat quickly so I guess waiting time.

Probably a 3/10?  I try not to be too hard on people because I've been on the other side of the counter too.  I know the cashier isn't to blame for company or even store policy and I don't want to make their day bad if I didn't like whatever policy they have to follow since I've been chewed out for things like packing groceries "wrong" even though a customer never told me how he wanted it packed, gave me items out of order(like if you want something on the bottom of a bag, give me that item FIRST not LAST) and it wasn't even allowed for me to pack people's items for them, that's something they're supposed to do.  This man ranted for fifteen minutes at the manager, like chill out and go home, you bought your stuff.  I try to make sure I place items on the belt in the order I'm going to bag them in, cold stuff together, veggies together, etc, as a customer so there's some sort of order and I don't want to give the cashier a hard time for something so minor.  I tend to go to the grocery store with a list, so it isn't like I have no direction at the store, just go in and get everything I need for the next two weeks and I'm out.  I don't like giving people a hard time over things they probably can't control.  I also don't like being mean to people for no reason either.

For restaurants, probably a 5/10.  I know what I'm expecting when I go to a restaurant but I also know not to give the waiter a hard time for something the kitchen did.  Most of the time I don't really complain though, since I normally don't go to restaurants anymore and the last things from restaurants I had were from deliveries so it wasn't like I could complain about the quality of the food to the waiter when there was none(honestly, the worst "chinese" food I've ever had was from a delivery place in town horrid food and made me sick).  If I didn't like the service or the food from a place, I just wouldn't go there anymore.

So picky that I check, research, and inspect every single ingredient on EVERY... SINGLE... ITEM... I... BUY. Either Kosher or Halal. Why? Cause I don't want no Beaver Anus Juice (Castoreum) disguised as Natural Flavors on my drinks. As for Kosher and Halal, that's self-explanatory. No pig for me. Meat may be meat, but I have a standard to abide by.

But hey, no hard feelings for any of you who's into this. You know what they say, "I don't eat/drink what you eat/drink, but it doesn't stop you from having what you enjoy eating/drinking all to yourselves. Hence, the more you have what you love to eat/drink the merrier".

When it comes to delivery service, I check everything as well. But if I'm in a restaurant, you could serve me the wrong plate and, as long as it looks good, I won't complain... Social situations got me derpin'

While at a restaurant, I'm a nice quiet doormat. 99% of the time I already know what I want to order without looking at the menu. I spend the whole time entertaining myself with my phone, only getting up to get a drink refill. I also tend to intentionally go at less crowded times, so the bored waitstaff end up chatting with me until someone else arrives. I've never done a service job myself, but I hear so many horror stories about it (even in this thread!) that I have "don't make their job any worse" burned into me anyway.

However, some of that is ironically because I'm a very picky eater, in the sense that most of the dishes at most restaurants I simply don't enjoy no matter how well-prepared they are. Most of the stuff I do enjoy is low-brow comfort food, i.e. "good food is wasted on me". I'm also a creature of habit that eats pretty much the same stuff at the same place all the time without much variation, entirely by choice. The most adventurous thing you might see me do with food on a typical week is try strawberry pepsi instead of cherry or raspberry pepsi.

I've done this half a dozen times! But not out of timidity: for some reason the wrong dish was always one I also liked, so digging in right away appealed more than complaining and then waiting for them to make the other thing. If it was something I didn't want to eat at all, I absolutely would say something.
