Retro*Derpy 3,185 October 6, 2012 Share October 6, 2012 Well no matter what pet you get it is going to be expensive, and the only pet I know that can qualify those standers is getting a pet gold fish.
Vicke 3,189 October 6, 2012 Share October 6, 2012 Maybe you would like a Hamster? Or maybe a bunny? I think those two is qualify for those standards. The hamster is something you can't really hug tho, maybe a Ferret? Signature made by Kyoshi
Sweets 198 October 6, 2012 Share October 6, 2012 Bunny. Bunny. Bunny. Get a bunny. They are awesome. They aren't really high maintenance. You can even litter box train them and let them hop around the house like a dog or a cat! Just feed 'em, give 'em a chew stick, water and you're good as gold! The only time a bunny smells is if you don't clean its cage. Also, depending on your cuddle factor, my sister has a Netherland Dwarf Bunny... She is the most lovable, sweetest thing ever. Do yourself a favor. Buy a bunny. Make sure it's white. Name it Angel. And pretend to be Fluttershy.
Guest October 6, 2012 Share October 6, 2012 Well a bunny would certainly be awesome and cute (I seem like the kind of person that are fond of rabbits don't I xD) A cat could also fit, it doesn't require a lot of attention, it's not that expensive, it doesn't smell as long as you teach it to do it's business outdoors and it's nice and cute to pet . It's not something like a gecko though :/
1mlpfim 70 October 6, 2012 Share October 6, 2012 EASY, take a turtle I got one myself, just put it in some recipient with water. Doesn't smell You can put it anywhere The turtle themselves are not expensive at all. They sell turtle food (even fish's works) very cheap, almost anywhere It requieres almost no attention at all, only change it's water from time to time, and obviously feed it, that's all the attention it will need There you have it
Cocodrillo 1,565 October 7, 2012 Share October 7, 2012 (edited) Regarding the fact you want a reptile, I´d say leopard gecko. It´s a beautiful animal, ideal for begginers. It´s nocturnal so you don´t have to pay a lot of attention during the day. It doesn´t smell at all, and costs about $20. But it needs a tonk and stuff like that. But it´s not large so I don´t think It´ll take a lot of space. Just go to the pet store, ask there about the tonks and care and stuff like that... I think it would make a perfect pet for you. Trixies Apprentice L 493 October 7, 2012 Share October 7, 2012 well you can buy a cat They dont smell since they clean themselves Cat are quite small so not much space taken well none really since they move around Apart from their food and some basic medical stuff they aren't that expensive to keep. They don't eat much anyway XD(iI know I have two) Attention and cats certenly don't go together. They are pretty self centered most of the time and dont demand your attention every so often except if they want to be petted or eat or something xD Generally thought they don't And unlike all the other animals that are cage and mentioned above they are more free in the house and 100% Hugable They so more affection that the rest too even though they more cold than a dog way colder actually XD Biggest cons are nails (if you don't have them removed) cause they do scratch a lot and fur you start finding fur everywhere . ~In construction~

Batbrony 16,055 October 7, 2012 Share October 7, 2012 (edited) Kay so I'm kinda looking for a pet. I kinda want something like a Gecko or Gerbil or something. My dad isn't so sure. Now, TheBigAnimation, I cannot express my delight!!!!! It's abundantly clear, that somewhere out here, is a pet that will suit you just right!!!!!!!!! On a serious note, though, I would've said you should get a cat, but I don't think they'd meet your dad's standards. They can be very high maintenance, and they definitely make you work for their affection. Gerbils could actually be more work than you anticipate; my family has a bunny, which from what I've heard act somewhat similarly, and let me tell you, that bunny we have is messy! Seriously, he craps these little turds all over the place! But, a reptile on the other hand, especially a lizard like a gecko, or maybe even a turtle, definitely wouldn't be nearly as much work, and might meet your dad's standards. Or, if your dad doesn't go for that, then I think your only option at that point will be a goldfish. Hope this helps!!! Edited October 7, 2012 by Batbrony 1 "You'll hunt me. Lostwanderer 367 October 7, 2012 Share October 7, 2012 Get a snake, i myself have a bunny and it's pure evil, they are pure evil i say. Also snakes are really cool while they might be a tad difficult to keep, a gecko is probably a better choice.
Azura 1,107 October 7, 2012 Share October 7, 2012 A lot of things smell, so I doubt you can avoid that. Get a Hamster or a Rabbit if you feel like touching it every now and then. If not, just get a goldfish and it'll swim around until it dies. (I have no idea what I'm saying.) My Signature Shop!-=-=-=-=-Art Collection!-=-=-=-=-A Signature Tutorial! Sugarcube 213 October 7, 2012 Share October 7, 2012 Have you looked into getting a bearded dragon? They don't smell, they don't make a lot of noise, and they are a reptile that enjoys being held and they get a decent size. They do have an upstart costs, but bringing home any animal does. It isn't cheap taking care of an animal and you need to make sure you can provide it with all of.its needs. Even reptiles need to see a vet for annual checkups, also if you are looking into a reptile check and see if vets in your area do exotics I would encourage you too look at bearded dragons though, you usually find them when they are babies, so they are small, about the size of a gecko, but they do get bigger and you need to look at a bigger habitat for them to grow in. They are very calm and usually don't mind being handled, when they get to be adults they will happily ride around on the front of your shirt and are very chill. I may have been born yesterday sir, but I stayed up all night - El-P
Flareon 151 October 7, 2012 Share October 7, 2012 I would suggest you not getting either a hamster or gerbil since they are nocturnal creatures they will keep you up most of the night especially if you have a running wheel in the cage take it from a person who's had to deal with it for a year. #136-Flareon (Storm Fire) Moveset: Flamethrower, Sunny Day, Bite, Flare Blitz Current FiMFiction (Writer/Author) : Fractured Loyalties My OC's: Ignis Sica Leader of the Midnight Guard Melody: The Shy Vocalist Storm Fire- The Pegasus of Fire Snow Breeze- The Cold Hearted Pegasus
Midnightive 458 October 7, 2012 Share October 7, 2012 I'd sy go Gerbil but you'd need to get two (or one will need a lot of attention because there very social animals! I've never had a geeko >.> <.< Also really gold fish are the easiest pet you just need to change there water twice a week! And you can forget to feed them>.> <.< Ivy, Sakura, Pixie

Creamy Arty 6,252 October 8, 2012 Share October 8, 2012 Cats Smells (unless you're diligent in cleaning their cages): Rodents Rabbits Take's up space:Large breed dogsExpensive:Some reptiles Some birds Requires a lot of attention:Dogs Birds I would go with some sort of lizard. Your gecko idea is good. Don't know how you feel about snakes but they're an option too. There's also fish. Can't play with fish, hold them, or establish any kind of bond, but they can be relaxing to watch. Ylaena 21 October 8, 2012 Share October 8, 2012 (edited) If you want a rodent, I suggest a rat! They're sweet and cuddly and rarely bite! Mine only bit me once and it was an accident. She was blind and thought I had a yogurt chip in my hand. She was very careful after that! I cleaned her cage once every week and she would take a bath at the same time. I used ferret shampoo and conditioning spray. She smelled so nice! Supplies and food are relatively inexpensive, too. If you don't plan on handling your pet daily, though, you might want to go in a different direction. I just got my soon-to-be-7-year-old a hermit crab. They don't eat much at all, and they're very cool to watch. "Mr. Crabs" gets fed once a week, and watered daily. He doesn't smell. His cage is tiny(though we take him out and let him run around a lot). Edit: I had a gerbil around the same time I had my rat. He was a mean little guy! He bit me every time I held him! None42069 520 October 8, 2012 Share October 8, 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVtYpxtjI5s I would say cat but you'd have to submit yourself to it. A dog is fun to have but a bit excitable. Rabbits are calmer but really hateful.
Gamer Luna 3 October 8, 2012 Share October 8, 2012 A pet? mmm hehe... I would choose a Chimera Beautiful creatures The Chimera was a monstrous female creature from Greek mythology that could breathe fire. It was composed of different animals: it had a lion’s body with a tail that ended with a snake’s head as well as a goat’s head that arose from the center of its back. The Chimera was briefly described by Homer in the Iliad and was thought to be the offspring of Typhon and Echidna.
