The Last Flight

I'm back! And I have a new song for my return! Melodic Dubstep This is the first time I have tried dubstep though, so please bear with me. I tried really hard to get the wobble basses to sound right, and i'm still learning how to use all the effects in FL Studio.

 

Anyway, the story behind the song is this:

 

Long before Equestria was founded, a Pegasus soldier is badly injured in an epic battle. He knows he won't survive much longer, but he doesn't give up. He keeps fighting. Soaring into the dark stormy sky, he pushes onward. Taking out the last enemy soldier just as he breaths his final breath

Dimitri is not a really big fan of music like Dubstep or anything modern. I listen to Big Band music and Soviet Choirs and anything between 1800-1989.

 

Yet, I actually didn't mind this song. The story behind it made me enjoy it more actually! Sounds pretty cool when I got a visual.

Yet, I actually didn't mind this song. The story behind it made me enjoy it more actually! Sounds pretty cool when I got a visual.

 

Thank you! With my music I like to try and invoke emotion and tell a story. That way the listener can experience it in different ways.

This is really dang good, man! Never heard of "Melodic" Dubstep until now, would have just called it Chillstep, but whatever.

Everything sounds really good. Everything, but the actual wobble basses imo. I just don't like the sound of them. They don't stand out or anything like that, in a good way mind you, just something about the sound I don't particularly care for.

Otherwise everything else sounds absolutely amazing! A really beautiful song you got there.

Thanks! I agree with you 100% on the wobble basses. They don't sound terrible, but they don't sound good either. I'm just going to continue to practice with it until I can get it right. I appreciate the feedback!

Really? The bass wobbles were made using U-he Zebra 2. I modified the LFO speed with an X-Y axis
