Mixed reactions from me. I was pretty negative about it when the acquisition was first announced last year, but it's really not that bad. Certain misgivings aside, Disney has been known to make some pretty decent movies in recent years. The director and writer, JJ Abrams and Michael Arndt, aren't terrible, either, though they've yet to prove themselves capable of making a Star Wars movie. They've got a lot of expectations to live up to, and I feel that this next movie will shape the future of the franchise for years to come, whether for the good or the bad. 

 

Whatever happens, of course, one thing is clear: George Lucas will never make another Star Wars movie. Buck yes.   

So are you saying that you are glade that Lucas isn't making another star wars movie? I mean I actually kinda liked the sequels, although I wasn't around or at least old enough to remember when the first 3 original Star Wars films came out, otherwise I might have a different opinion.

Very glad. George Lucas is a great businessman, but he's not a great filmmaker. Back when he first started out, people said "No, it can be better" to him, and he was willing to delegate the writing and directing to others. That's one of the reasons why The Empire Strikes Back is regarded as the greatest Star Wars film. I don't dislike him on the level that many fans do (though I would take the original trilogy over the prequels anyday), but I believe Star Wars needs a fresh start.

Personally, I think it could go either way. Disney has made a lot of amazing movies in its time, like Toy Story and Pirates of the Carribbean. However, it has made some pretty rubbish ones. I think that we'll just have to wait and see how it turns out. Disney has got so much potential for Star Wars, but could at the same time end up ruining it.

Well Disney bought Marvel, and the Avengers was pretty epic. Disney HAS made a bit of amazing movies, but I hope Star Wars isn't that one movie that sucks.......they just better not take away muh Harry Potter...

As a fan of the originals but not the clone wars trilogy I have to point out that everybody EXCEPT George Lucas can make a good Star Wars movie. Don't be too hard on Disney.

Who cares? They did an avengers and Phineas and Ferb crossover, too. I believe it finally came out, or is going to soon. That was announced over a year ago. Crossovers happen no matter who owns things. They can just now do it without the song and dance of corporate negotiations.

 

I for one love Phineas and Ferb, and I think the writing is great.

I care, because I don't like when a cartoon I dislike takes one of my all time favorite things and mix it up into yucky-yucky soup

Then don't watch it I feel like I'm talking to the entire fandom about EQG all over again. If it bugs you, then don't watch it. If some people find pleasure in letting things bother them, then I guess I'm an outcast since I simply don't do that xD

Well I don't care much about the actual thing itself, of course I won't watch it haha. I am just mad at Disney for (imo) ruining the whole feeling with Star Wars being Star Wars. I mean, it makes it feel like star wars is just another movie.. I know it's just a movie haha but you know.. When you watch star wars you're there. In the movie, it's real. And then it's mixed up with some weirdass cartoon like if it was just any movie.. auuughh f*ck u disney, I bet they will ruin the movies too :v ...By putting Johnny Depp as main character ._.

I don't know exactly how bad this is gonna turn out, or if it ends up turning that bad at all, but I dunno.

 

I just hope they don't mess with star wars to much.

 

Also they better not ruin the new battlefront game, I am pumped for that game..
