Johto is my favorite. Gold was my favorite game in the series until HeartGold and SoulSilver came out (want to guess what my new favorite is? :P ) Kanto was pretty awesome too, but it seemed kind of depressing to me in the original Gen. II games.

I actually like the new region (can't remember off top of head and too lazy to figure it out) granted the Shino region comes in fairly close then G/S and Gen 1 maps then Honen comes in last.

Current is Unova.

Anyway, Johto will always be my favorite. Gen II was my favorite, and I loved HGSS. The fact that you get Kanto (second favorite) in those games makes it even better.

Kanto is ok, even though it's basically a big old square with a branch, I like how Cinnabar and Pallet are connected so you could run around the place in circles though.

Johto is kinda meh, good towns but iffy layout imo, getting some places can be a chore like Blackthorn.

Hoenn had dat big ocean to surf around in, plus a wonderful land layout, really good region imo but the towns were probably the smallest in the series.

Sinnoh had some pretty cool ideas with the mountain splitting the region in the middle and a whole seperate explorable island, but the routes were meh imo.

Unova is definitely the best though- best towns, dungeons, and routes in the series imo, even though it could have used more water. And the extra areas added in B/W2 made it even better.

I should also give mention to Orre from Colloseum/XD- awesome towns in that one even though there were no routes, but the towns were fun enough to explore imo.

Sinnoh is probably my favorite region, along with Diamond/Pearl/Platinum being my favorite games~

Some cities in there had some pretty nice atmosphere in my opinion, like Hearthome, Veilstone, Jubilife and Canalave. I would also like to mention the Underground. For me, at least, it was incredibly addicting to dig up those treasures and it was also a lot fun to play multiplayer in it. :P

And oh boy, that music!

I enjoyed the Kanto region the most. The map layout is fairly straight forward and nothing is really out of the way to get to. I find the music and maps to be very nostalgic as pokemon was my first video game. Also, glitch city is hands down one of the coolest places in the pokemon universe to visit. Giratina, eat your heart out.

Orre is my favorite region, because it is the region of my favorite pokemon game (Pokemon colosseum), and has the most badass main character.

Oh wait, you mean favorite MAIN series game region? Johto, I guess. The first pokemon game I ever played was Pokemon Crystal.

I like all of them but if I had to pick one, it would be Sinnoh. I would also pick Unova, because it has a lot of things to do. The music in black and white was awesome, so I'll go with Unova for now.

I just gotta say Hoenn. It was my first Pokemon game, but there is something else about it that I really like. It might be just bias, but I like the Pokemon. Mudkip is the best starter.

Hoenn! Because it's based on the island I came from, Kyushu! Approximately, I would be living in Littleroot town.

Well, In the series itself, I would say Johto, It's where one of my favorite childhood game, Pokemon Crystal took place. I like the designs of the cities and other areas, and the pokemon that lived there were great. The plot felt weak compared to the newer games, but It was great.

Unova is pretty plain and unrealistic, while Sinnoh was huge and overwhelming.

So yeah, Johto is my absolute favorite region in the pokemon series.

Hoenn for me. Hoenn had a feel of adventure and travel that I never really felt in any other region. The landscape shifts from beaches to mountains to jungles to deserts to volcanoes seamlessly. Also, it had the most kickass legendaries and it was the last region with Pokemon that impressed me. Lastly, the fact that it was split half and half into sort of a ying-yang of water and land showed the symbolic balance of the two which was a major theme in that region.

Kanto and Johto are pretty boring pieces of land if you ask me. I love gens 1 and 2 but I still think the regions are kinda meh. Sinnoh was interesting with the mountain splitting it but the routes were all too similar. Unova has really memorable locations but the actual layout (donut with center) didn't appeal to me

Sinnoh and Hoenn are definitely my choices. I know, they're part of the newer and "more retarded" generations, but I started playing Pokemon a bit late and they are the first two regions I explored, and the ones I know best. Especially Sinnoh.

Kanto and Hoenn are my favourites but if I had to choose one it would be Hoenn. Ruby still is my favourite Pokemon game and the team that I use mostly consists of Pokemon from that region.

The whole Magma and Aqua story was pretty cool and the way they incorporated the Legendaries into the story line was really interesting and the whole game felt fresh and new from the previous two generations.

I have to go with Johto. I loved Gold/Silver/Crystal to pieces and found it really cool that you could re-explore Kanto after you finished everything in Johto. Sure, Kanto was stripped of a ton of things, but it was still an amazing inclusion nonetheless. I also loved the variety of Pokemon Johto had to offer, unlike other gens where the regional Pokedexes were so limited, finding Pokemon of certain types left you with almost no options (Black 2 and White 2 fixed this).

Kanto and Sinnoh I think. Kano from watching the anime as a kid, and Sinnoh because Pearl was the first Pokemon game I ever played, and I really like a lot of the Pokemon in the region. Well, maybe not bidoof...

Johto for sure, although Unova is very close. Despite that I only played HG and SS, Johto was amazing because of the Pokemon, Gym Leaders, the use of Kanto, having a phone and things and getting to have rematches and photographs with gym leaders. And I liked Unova because the Pokemon were awesome, especially the legendaries, and so were the cities. I also liked the animated sprites and more realistic art.  :D

Johto and Unova.

Johto is my favorite because not only is it fun to explore, but it's from my favorite game, Crystal.

I also kinda hate it because there's too many Pokemon I want to use, if that makes any sense.

Hoen, gotta be Hoen. It was just all adventury and jungley! Not to mention that it had a pretty wide range of terrains, and secret bases (proper ones). I dunno... it was my first Pokemon, so I might be biased, but still...

Beats the hell out of Kanto.

Hoenn, hands down, I just love the games so much, and the pokemon too, and the gyms (aside from the 7th, blergh...). Mainly because Emerald is my favourite game and the anime seasons of Hoenn were also my favourite, from the anime.

Also Kanto, because it's simple and easy to get through, but Hoenn still has better pokemon.

I was going to start a new thread, but I'll bump this 6-year old thread instead. :P

Definitely Sinnoh. I've always been a fan of the sort of northern landscape lined with coniferous evergreen trees, maybe because I grew up in such a landscape? I don't know. But the region doesn't only have that. It has it's fair share of coastlines, beaches, and a big mountain dividing the east from the west. The place reminds me a lot of Washington state to be honest. Not to mention that even with the graphical enhancements I've seen in other regions, I don't think they've quite gotten it as right as they have with the Sinnoh region. Not to mention, I find myself in awe with the diversity of the region's cities and towns, from the fun beach town of Sandgem to the snow-covered northern city of Snowpoint.

As for my least favorite? Well, of the main series regions I must say that Johto is it for me. The region feels small and it feels like it really lacks a lot of development. It doesn't help that the first time I got to play one of the Gen 2 games was when I was already an adult, so there was no real nostalgia for it. Also, I'm not a big fan of the cultural aspect of it either. Sure the cultures of Eastern Asia can be rather interesting, but here it just seems like they're sort of all jumbled together. None of the towns feel special, in my opinion. Although it would probably be kind of nice to live in Goldenrod, it always felt like a sort of recycling of Vermillion to me to be honest.
