Two classics of Chinese phylosophy, short and full of wisdom. Now I'm reading "The beginner Companion To XiangQi (Chinese Chess)"... Beginner yet 596 pages long... This game is complex as Western Chess. Or even more complex. Cool. I've read the Tao Te Ching but haven't gotten to The Art of War yet. I've given up on being any good at any kind of strategy game but if you want a really complex one try Go/ 1

I've given up on being any good at any kind of strategy game but if you want a really complex one try Go/ The Art of War written by Sun-Tzu is more of a book about dealing with human conflicts than war. It's short and full of Wisdom like the Tao Te Ching, but focused on human conflict. You can find that book very easy. Probably you can find a free translation or buy the physical copy very cheap. And it's the same lenght as the Tao Te Ching. I think Sun-Tzu was alive in the same time as Lao-Tzu. Confucius for me is overrated... I have one Go game and I think it's the top of what a classical tabletop game should be. Simple rules and incredible complexity. And is not based in "destroying" your opponent. Simple Genius. I found those games very relaxing. Edited October 23, 2024 by Arrlong28 Typos

Slumberlumber 169 November 24, 2024 Share November 24, 2024 Lord of the rings trilogy, second edition. Also got an Animal farm first edition ANDDDDD a WW1 era book as well! But back to LOTR: Love the fantasy in it. Great writing, love the topics the book hints at while staying true to the fantasy medieval world. Awesome, awesome, awesome.

Cash In 22,446 November 30, 2024 Share November 30, 2024 Red Dragon by Thomas Harris. Only just started it earlier today, but I have been enjoying the read so far. 2 At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do. Denim&Venöm 19,158 15 hours ago Share 15 hours ago Finished up Summer Knight at work, the last in a four audio book binge from the Dresden Files. Which is basically Harry Potter, if he became a hard boiled detective. I know there are many more books after this, but I liked how this one ended. Felt like if The Chronicles of Narnia was also a murder mystery and political conspiracy film. Though out of the four I've read, I prefer the second, Fool Moon. Cause its about werewolves. Like, all the werewolves. Name a kind of werewolf, It's gonna be in there. And there all waging gang wars on one another. And you can listen to them all here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJ8Qx9vRpV0

Harry is the only wizard listed in the Chicago Yellow Pages and has been a paid consultant to the Chicago Police Department. Things have...escalated...from there.
