No, I base them around the persona I would have if I were a girl, simply because it is my belief that Octi and I share as much in common cannon wise as we can. IE, the only canon for Octi is that she plays cello. I play cello. HOAH!

 

And when I have to deal with Vinyl, then I pull from the VSTs.

I do not drink. Octi drink is a result of time with Vinyl, (Which would cause anypony to drink, either because of Vinyl, or with her) and an old fannon that had her as a drunk Russian. Obviously, we can which reason is more heavily accented, but for those a little slower on the reception, I'll give you a hint. She ain't Russian.

Believe it or not, I kind of have the same thing going on. Here's a post from another thread for my point:

 

 

I'm not sure if this is cheating or anything, but the more I think about it, the more I think Octavia may be a match for me. I call it "cheating" because her personality has mostly been established in fanon so she could fit anypony's mold. That being said, our fandom is actually pretty good at keeping established personalities across fan works intact. 

 

For instance, while Vinyl's taste in music varies from dubstep, to rock, to . . . whatever the person writing her likes really; but has she ever been portrayed as quiet and unsure of herself outside of her job as a DJ? If she has, it's the exception to the rule. While Octavia has been portrayed as a runaway musician who made it big, a career member of a Canterlot ensemble, and yes . . . an assassin for either a secret order of the mafia depending on who you ask. But has she ever been portrayed as elitist or rude? Even at her worst, one of Octavia's consistent traits is that she is exceedingly polite.

 

Now on to actually WHY I would love to call Octavia my very special somepony. Well first off, if she doesn't actuallylive in Canterlot she almost assuredly spends a lot of time there. I actually live in Canterlot, born and raised. I also consider myself a patron of the arts, as well as being a creative writer myself, so there's a great chance I would have seen her perform. Lastly, I'm a close personal friend of Fancypants (being his contractual bodyguard) who would surely have backstage access. So, without changing any of my given back story, this could actually happen!

 

Now for Octavia herself, she actually has a lot of qualities shared by my two most crushed on mares of the Mane Six, Rarity and Fluttershy. She's cultured and talented, but also reserved and polite. And if there's one word you could use to describe Octavia by herself, it's classy! To me, classy = sexy. We are both artists, just of different mediums, so we could each appreciate each other's passions and ideas.

 

As for what she would potentially see in me? Well, the way I've seen Octavia portrayed, she has actual friends in the form of her ensemble, and of course Vinyl, but it's almost like there are few outside of that circle that she feels comfortable letting into her life. . . . . . .   I kind of stabbed myself in the hoof with that set up didn't I? 

 

What I mean is, she needs somepony who's easy. Who she doesn't need to "get used to" like she did with Vinyl. Somepony she has some chemistry with right from the start; who's also attentive and genuinely interested in her. Not sure if she would be as prone to flights of romantic fantasy like Rarity, probably not, but certainly being chivalrous and projecting the image of a protector isn't something she would be repulsed by.

Jordo's got a huge lead, seeing that he's been at it the longest, He also is living with rainbow, who has stated that she wants to stay with him forever. You other guys have a lot of ground to cover.

 

Sturdy started out strong with 4 points for awesomeness, but got a 2 point penalty for coming on a bit too strong a bit too fast.

You Haven't seen Drocsid's post yet, Which I'm counting Towards his score. and yes, she loved the blade helmet, but then you got all flirty which cancelled that out.
