The original YuGIOh was the BOMB dude. Not only was there Joey and Tristan in the t.v. show, but the card game itself was much easier to understand without all of these fusion trap activation spell special condition whatever things.

The original was the only series of the show I really liked, and the card game didn't really last for me much longer afterwards either. All the new crazy stuff in the game is just to face paced and insane for me, I honestly liked it better in the original when the card game was fun, but much more calm I guess.

I don't really watch the series at all anymore, or play the card game. Last i watched was duel academy, and thats also the last series I have cards from.

I would have to go with the original I think mainly because of the fact it was the fist one I watch and had the most fun with the card games in college, we would have really big free for alls which my deck was really good at. I also like what I have see of season zero because of how it shows what Yami was like at the beginning of the manga, he was evil in a good way. That and he truly was the king of games not just a card game. I would have to say that 5Ds(Card games on motorcycles) is next with GX the Zexal after that.

Everyone here is saying "the original" and I'm not sure if they mean the ORIGINAL, or the "original" that America got. The first Yu-Gi-Oh anime only aired in Japan, and Duel Monsters wasn't AS present. It focused more on puzzles in general, Yami Yugi would challenge people to said puzzles (instead of card games). After discovering this series and watching it, Im proud to say that it's most certainly my favorite. Most fans refer to it as "Season Zero". I definately suggest you all watch it, It's awesome.

The original series (not Season 0). Mainly because I liked the storyline better, the card games were simpler, and because of Slifer, Ra, Obelisk, and Exodia. The only downgrade of the show is that most card games lasted about three episodes.

The original Yu-Gi-Oh because it didn't suck.

I believe I just answered your question in the simplest way possible, dear sir.

The first series shown in America, by far. The game was much simpler back then, the story was more intriguing than the others, and the Pharaoh's connection to the ancient game made the high stakes seem much more realistic.

I also gotta say that Zexal doesn't deserve the hate it gets. I like it more than GX and 5D's, even though I don't really care about the game anymore.

Yu-Gi-Oh! and by that I mean season 0. As much as I liked those card duels in the subsequent series, they just dragged on forever. So y'know, just learned to love that original series after a while.

The first two seasons.

Maybe the third.. its been so long i cant remember.

I was really into the card game though... at the time I had virually unbeatable deck.

It is too bad I lost it... I wish I at least knew what happened to it.

The original Yu-Gi-Oh has been my favorite. I really enjoyed the plotline. GX was alright, I liked the concept of a dueling school. Never even watched 5d's. I don't like the basic consensus of it. Zexal is tolerable, I've seen the first season, but I'm not in a hurry to see the rest of the episodes.

For me the prize goes to the original, the story was very interesting learned a little bit about Egyptian mythology and it had likable relatable characters. GX was good but not as good as the original, 5d's was awesome and easily takes a close second to the original while Zexal I can take or leave to be honest I mostly watch it to see the cards and duels.

The first gen one with Yugi(from Duelist Kingdom to Dawn of the Duel). I saw some scenes of the newer ones and they didn't have the same charm to them.

Also, i wish they hadn't made the card game more complicated, I know the ruleset the Power of Chaos games used like the back of my hand, but I can't even figure out the new one.

The first one because ever since they took out Yugi it's been a horrible mess that can't even decide what it's about...I mean seriously, it used to be a pretty good show but I know that now I wouldn't do so much as to watch it.

The original is my favorite. The most memorable characters, less dues ex machina cards, decks that weren't painfully terrible tributes to the character's interests.

Keep in mind I have not seen all of any of the series.

I'd say my favorite was 5Ds, it was just so awesome. Yuusei was an amazing protagonist and I loved the biking that was added to the battles. My favorite battle that I remember was definitely the one in the prison though (didn't get very far into the series though)

All of them have their merits though. I especially liked the final story arc in the original series against the guys who used that special symbol to trap souls and made the monsters real and all.
