Are unicorns more vulnerable to evil?

Seems only natural they would be, yes. They fuck around with magic unlike Pegasi and Earth Ponies, and we all know there's plenty of dark magic and temptations for power that come with the ability to do whatever you want just by casting some spells.

I think it comes down to what happens when corrupted.

 

Earth Ponies are in tune with the earth.  If you corrupt an earth pony, they would pretty much lose their connections and hence the corruption itself robs them of power.

 

Pegasus Ponies are in tune with the sky.  Corrupting a pegasus doesn't yield or deny them power.  They do seem to work together though and their most powerful things like the super tornado require multiple pegasi to create.  While Rainbow Dash could cause a lot of havoc, the big things (widespread weather shifts, killer super tornadoes, etc.) require a bunch of pegasi.  An evil pegasus would need to be a mastermind leading an army of her peers.

 

Unicorn Ponies however GAIN power when corrupted.  There is a whole field of magic that opens up to a corrupted unicorn.  Plus unicorns tend to act singly(you do not see shared spells in canon).  Those two things together make them far more likely to be a viable evil force.

Can't add much more beyond agreeing that powerful unicorns like Twilight could be very, very dangerous if they turn to darkness. However, most unicorns are not nearly that powerful. Luna was an alicorn when she fell from grace, so that might not count as evidence. It makes one wonder about Star Swirl the Bearded and if he was turning to evil. The problem with bring him back as a villain and/or making Twilight his apprentice is that it smacks of the whole Dark Jedi cliche.

Yes, because unicorns will usually find a spell that contains dark magic in some point in time. Like how Celestia taught Twilight a trick in doing dark magic like Sombra, plus they use magic on a daily basis.

Here's a thought. Since dark magic exists alongside normal magic, what are the possibilities of there being a light magic, perhaps powered by joy or some other positive emotion? I think it would make an interesting addition, provided it's done right.
