Merry Christmas from Beat Shock and Rarity!

Oh man, I have been working on this non-stop for 5 freakin' days!!! This project was quite worth my time, turning out pretty well and all that. Seriously this was a VERY hard art piece for me with how young I am. I am very proud, even if there are a few mistakes!

 

So with all of my hard work, and my over-joyful Christmas spirit, I leave you with a vector of my first Christmas as a brony! Hope you like!!

As you can see, I had to change it a lot for the final vector, so that made it a bit trickier.

 

 

This is the first vector I ever made (without help), so I am still very open for critiques! I know I kind of messed up with Rarity's face, so I insist on helpful feedback. I would also very much appreciate advice on how to get better with vectoring the right proportions for ponies.

 

Hope to hear your valued opinions, but until then...

Awesome vector! And for being your first without help. Really good. I've seen alot of vectors with a bunch of small errors but this one doesn't even have any errors!

 

 

Well if I gotta find some errors which I always do..

 

 

The black should go over the red there.

I fixed both of them, and put them in the original vector (too lazy to do the ones with the backgrounds). Thank you again for your critique! I may come ask you for tips in the future if I want to get better.

 

I am surprised with first few replies saying "It was overall perfect". I know a harsh critique from someone *cough cough* Motion Spark *cough cough* is coming soon... I am ready for it, though it will probably be very degrading, considering me vectoring Beat Shock and Rarity together *eye roll* because no one likes OC and mane six shipping...

 

I want to get a Diviantart account to put all my art, but it's being stupid right now. I can't register for some reason, and IT'S FRUSTRATING!!!

Well now I know who to go to for vectoring advice.... Just wow.

 

I plan on creating many more vectors in the future, now that I know how to make them. I decided, since no one would accept the vector requests I gave them, to learn how to make my own!

 

Once I get really good, I will make my own signature!!

Man this is pretty sweet! I love the smile on their faces! They look so joyous and the Hat is a nice touch to! And the backgrounds make it look even better!

Hey guys, I would like to see if any of you could find me a really good Christmas background for Beat Shock and Rarity. The ones I used were just some random ones I found, and I would like some better ones. It can be a textless picture, because I can easily put "Marry Christmas" at the top of it.

 

Just curious if any of you know about cool Christmas backgrounds!

Wow, wow, wow!!!!  The vector's great enough as it is, but the backgrounds make it even more outstanding than it already was!!!  Very colorful and seasonal!!!  Excellent work Beat Shock, and thanks for further spreading the Christmas spirit on these forums!  Glad to see there's been so much Christmas-pony art lately!

You know, I would actually be more proud if you did this completely by yourself.  (And not spending most of those days of work bugging me every single second to see if that line you just drew looked good, or how to do one technique I've already told you how to do 5 times already or finding a button that you didn't take care to notice it was just right there in plain sight)  Remember, a key of art is finding your own style, which includes experimenting and finding a method that you feel comfortable in your own drawing and you take confidence in knowing that it's something that you can do well.

 

This is fantastic work for a beginner vector, and if you keep practicing, you'll only get better.  But you need to become more reliant and dependable on your own art.  Be confident.  Don't fuss so much about getting the details perfect, or whether or not your art skills are up to snuff to the task; focus on the larger picture, the picture you want, and just work at it, patiently, until it looks right, which makes that art unique to you from all others.   And I'll explain that most of the reason why I was so vague in my advice while you were drawing this was to help you rely on yourself more and help your art evolve.  Hopefully you can take that advice into mind and use it to improve yourself.

 

It's still a great picture, and great drawing bro.  Keep at it!

I agree that the ears had trouble fitting with the hat, but I had to do it from scratch (because my original drawing didn't have ears).
