Tik Tok was the one song you could NOT escape in 2010.

Call Me Maybe was the Tik Tok of 2012... that one catchy song that you could NOT escape.

In your opinion, which was more tolerable and more redeeming? Both are catchy, no doubt.

Tik Tok. It's better, didn't suck as soon as it came out (it wasn't that bad for the first little while, before every station played it every other hour practically), it's catchier, it has better bass, and I made a parody to it a long time ago.

Although, Call me Maybe is easier to make fun of and make funny jokes about. And Carly Ray Jepsen is hot (I actually have a friend who looks almost exactly like her, but she's lesbian :()

Neither.

Tik Tok was terrible. And she could even spell. I know it was the point of the song, but at the Time I couldn't tell.

Call Me Maybe was bad; my least favorite song. All I saw were dumb kids, singing ALL. DAY. LONG.

There, I made it rhyme. I feel proud now.

Both songs made me want to bash my head till I lost consciousness, granted not as much as Gangnam style. K' than, Tik Tok but only because people didn't call it a masterpiece of it's genre.

Isn't that the big golden robot guy from Return to Oz, Tik-tok?

The original 1800s book in which he made his first appearance is often considered the first true robot in literature history?

Really? There were fictional robots much earlier than that. Off the top of my head, the earliest would've been robots built by Hephaestus in Greek Mythology.

I liked Call me Maybe heaps more, I've always hated Kesha's singing in the first place. 99% of her voice in her songs are auto tune and sound terrible >.< It wasn't that catchy for me anyway, plus it's easier to make parodies out of Carly's song >.<

This is a trick question, I didn't like either of them :P

I have such a weird taste in music, I like lots of different songs by lots of artists.

Okay, both sucked, but I liked Tik Tok better...it had that pop theme that I just liked. I wanted to headdesk as much as ever when I hear any of them...Gangman Style is still much better. It's like the new Party Rock Anthem. Dang it catchy songs! What the heck is next?

Both are pretty bad. But Call Me Maybe is at least kinda catchy. And it can be pretty fun to sing...

Tik Tok and Kesha in general are just shitty.

Honestly, I could tolerate Tik Tok a lot more than Call Me Maybe. Ke$ha's song was a bit more likable for me than Carly Rae's. Along with Call Me Maybe being so stupid, mainly the video. For no reason, I was thinking it was promoting minor sex.

Call Me Maybe was ruined by the last teenage singer who had a "popular" hit.

I first heard Tik-Tok on the Simpsons episode and Call me Maybe when I was revising. They were both songs that I danced about to because I am influenced like that!

If I had to pick... close, but Tik Tok.

Tik Tok all the way. Call Me Maybe has a catchy melody, but the lyrics just make it sooooo cheesy. Call Me Maybe would've been better, if it was just an instrumental.

Tik Tok was awful (even coming from a closet Kesha fan like me) but nothing compared to the meme driven horror show that was Call Me Maybe. its about a girl who gives her number out to a random guy, yet blows off the guys who are actually chasing her? i mean seriously?

i strongly believe that Call Me Maybe was written in less time then it takes to actually listen to it. its also not fair to use the singers looks as a vehicle to make the song better. the hottest chick on the planet could record the worst song in history, and her looks wouldnt make it any easier to listen to.

Honestly they are both crap. Tik Tok is really just annoying, and it just proves how far we've gone. Then the song call me maybe; ugh this is equally annoying. The lyrics to both aren't meaningful at all.

I feel exactly the same. When it first came out, I thought Tik Tok was catchy. But now, looking back almost 3 years later, I'm ashamed to have ever liked it. The lyrics on both songs are pointless and make no sense.

"Before you came into my life, I missed you so bad."

How can you miss someone you don't know?

Call Me Maybe wouldn't be as bad, but the radio played it so much. Over the summer, me and my friend drove 6 hours to Wisconsin. And I swear they played that every other song. It's so overplayed, and I honestly don't want to hear that melody again for a long, loong time.

Oh, wow, I almost forgot this random image I found on I Am a Brony.com. Yes it does have to do with this thread because it's Tik Tok. Maybe the only reason I liked it was because of the catchy tune...and let's face it, we don't want to hear this tune in a long long time. Also the lyrics make no sense...but it doesn't matter because it's catchy.

Both make me want to brutally murder the artists, along with:

Nearly ever rapper ever, especially Young Money.

Bieber.

Selena Gomez.

etc.

I pretty much universally hate American pop and rap. Strangely enough, I love J-Pop.

I don't think I've ever heard Tik Tok but I love Call Me Maybe. it's chorus is awesome.

The end of the music video is hilarious too. xD

I gotta wonder what the story behind that song is. This must have happened to her in the past or something. The story is a bit too specific to be just some love song when you consider the twist ending.

i stand by my statement that both songs are completely terrible and almost unlistenable (is that a word?) unless remixed and made into dubstep songs.

however this is undeniably cute:
