planning Pony D&D, anyone?

If you had looked through the rest of this thread you would know I set up a Skype account specifically so that I could run this game more effeciently.My Skype name is alex.kennedy118. Anyway, as I've told you before, I'm really interested in Age of Equestria, and I'm flattered that you want me to be involved.

I was wondering how much interest there was in running a pony-based D&D campaign. I don't have a story in mind yet but it won't take me long to come up with one. Anyone interested who hasn't played D&D before is still perfectly welcome, and I'll do my best to show you the ropes. We would mainly be playing during a set time either weekly or bi-weekly, but I'd keep it running on the backburner the rest of the time if anybody wanted to do something minor. I'm willing to be pretty lenient with the rules, and I'm open to negotiation for pretty much anything.I'll post more rules and explanation if and when people show interest.

 

Oh! I should probably mention that this would be 3.5 D&D.

 

Anyway, I'll probably update this obsessively over the next few days, so stay tuned if you think you might be interested.

 

In order to form a story, I need to know what exactly you guys want out of this. To that end here is a series of questions which will help me flesh things out:

 

• Do you want interacting with the mane six and other characters from the show to be a big part of the campaign?
• Do you want to play in a humanized (or elfisized, gnomified, halflingificated) version of equestria, or stick with ponies?
• What races do you want to use? Just the three pony tribes, or others as well?

Oh, I'm just tickled pink excited at the idea of getting back down into a good old D&D game session, especially one which is set in the Equestrian My Little Pony universe! Ah, and do remember that since Hasbro does own Wizards of the Coast, they do have legal grounds for presenting using anything in the Monster Manual of D&D. Thus the being presence of Cockatrices and Manticores and Ursa Majors oh my!

First of all, what you think of as the "other D&D group" is but one of several. I would know, I've done two myself. Second of all, I'll be glad to help you as much as you need, although I won't be DMing this time.

As long as I don't have to DM, fine, I'm in. I'll warn you, though, that it's not easy. As for info from the last game, a lot of it was stuff that I was making up as I went along. Discord being reformed kind of messed up what little I had planned in terms of story anyway. I'll dig up whatever I do still have, though. Also, you might want to look into Roleplaying is Magic and Age of Equestria for ideas. I could have saved myself a lot of time if I'd known about them back when I was in charge.

 

For now, I have to go to class, so I'll get in touch with you later.
