The Amblezon Jungle. Never has a pony ever set hoof in a more hostile landscape. How could the windigos of the Northern Expanse even hope to compare to the Hinkypunks that feed on the despair of the wayward traveler? How could the mighty hydras of the Everfree Forest hope to be more fearsome than the mighty Nundu, the fearsome maned leopard whose very breath reeks of death? How could the demons locked in Tartarus hope to inspire the same fear in ponies as do even the very trees that inhabit this jungle, collectively called the Yateveo, which have been known to eat ponies alive and whole?

 

With the swarms of flesh-eating, hive-minded gnats; Kelpies that take every shape and form lurking in the waterways, and the mischievous Erklings that sabotage the unwary, among other things, it can be easy to forget the natural beauties of the jungle due to the monstrosities that call the place their home.

 

Legend has it that the jungle is such a deadly place for good reason. It has been said that the monsters and demons and shadows are not there by coincidence, but that they have been placed there to defend whatever lies at the heart of the jungle, a place never seen by anypony who lived to tell the tale. Until now.

 

The best and brightest from all corners of Equestria have been selected to delve deeper into the Amblezon Jungle than anypony ever has in all of recorded history, to find the mythical Heart of the Jungle.  And they will succeed, or die trying.

 

 

 

 

HOW IT STARTS

 

 

Day 1. Everypony meets in Timbucktu. Everypony in the expedition meets. They sleep at the inn.

 

Day 2. Everypony travels to the Amblezon by boat. It takes a full 24 hours. We can try and keep Day 2 short with a time skip if things start to slow down.

 

Day 3. Everypony disembarks the boat, into the the boggy, coastal part of the Amblezon Jungle.

 

It would take a day or two to travel to the center of the jungle, even if the jungle weren't actively trying to prevent us from getting there. We avoid, tackle, or trick all obstacles the jungle presents to us, and after a lengthy period, and if we don't all die, we reach the centre. And what happens there? You'll have to find out.   :ph34r:

 

The Amblezon Jungle has even more dangerous creatures than the Everfree, and seems to be strangely organized in its attempts to keep ponies from reaching its center. Nopony has ever managed to reach the center and lived to tell the tale. Nicolas Cage and Alicorn Amulet, if they are willing, will help me control the jungle, and attempt to impede the expedition's progress, or else to kill the expedition ponies.

 

(When I say the jungle is organized, think of how the hive-minded Alien Formics, also known as buggers, from Ender's game, are organised; or perhaps the way the Urgal clans, always hostile to each other, were bent into a single unified army by the shade Durza in Eragon are.)

 

 

LECTURE

 

This Roleplay is for serious roleplayers only. It will be a while before I start, and I plan on being rather picky with the selection process. I'll need to be seriously impressed, and convinced that your character will be among the best Equestria has to offer for this dangerous mission, before you'll be accepted.

 

I am willing to work with you on your characters. However, only ten will be accepted in the end, excluding myself. No exceptions. If someone is especially inactive, however, I will consider replacing whoever that may be with someone else, assuming they meet my high expectations.

 

I have every right to deny someone access to this roleplay. And I don't want to have to put up with any complaints I might get if I do deny someone. Please, be mature.

 

RULES

 

    1. If you're accepted, I expect you to be active. That means at least one post a day.

 

    2. The consequences of this roleplay will be serious ones. I won't be killing off our expedition crew right and left, but make a seriously wrong choice, and your pony WILL die.

 

    3. I will accept romances, but don't get carried away with it. No R34 or NSFW content. Remember, it's an honour to have been accepted for this expedition, and this expedition is the priority.

 

    4. Make your posts grammatically correct and easy to read. I want to be able to understand what it is that is being said. If I cannot follow what is being said consistently, your OC will be killed.

 

    5. No Alicorns. No exceptions.

 

    6. No Mary or Gary Sues. Please make your characters interesting to read. Thank you.

 

    7. No Godmodding. If there are multiple offenses, your character will be terminated.

 

    8. If I kill off your character, you are not allowed to bring them back with necromancy of any sort. No exceptions.

 

    9. Pay attention to all posts, please. No matter how irrelevant they may seem to your character at the time.

 

    10. Have fun!

I dont know if I should sign up with Diamond as a Pegasus or ArrowLeaf as ArrowLeaf... If I were to use Diamond, She would go into her super awesome badass mode...Not her usual Proper self. Which one do you like the idea of more ?

I'd prefer Diamond be the one used... Arrowleaf may be a bit OP in this situation, considering, as a Dryad, she would talk with and sooth the Plant Monsters of the Amblezon. Admittedly, there would still be plenty to take on other than plants, but what fun would that be if we didn't have to face Yateveo, Ents and Timberwolves as well?

 

Not to mention I'm rather curious to see how Diamond's darker side manifests itself. I've only ever seen her played as elegant, tea-loving Diamond.

I am excited to use Diamond actually. I have only been in one Action filled RP with her. And that RP never really picked up. She is still going to be super classy but only when the time is right.

You'll be fine. I'll go ahead and add you. That OC warning was mostly placed there because there are some people with OCs that have about two or three words to sum up their entire character, or reference groups that are neither canon nor even anything I recognise as fanon. 

 

I'd love to Roleplay as Dyn/Fenyw. If that can't work out, then I'll use Poison Dart.

I'm all right with playing either; they're both fun and (I'd like to think) unique characters.

Wow. Just... wow. Your OCs blew me away. Never seen anything like them. (Is it even possible for a pony to be half cow?)

 

I'd prefer to use Dyn/Fenyw for this. My main concern, however, is how either of your characters would fare in the jungle, as neither are portrayed as being entirely mentally stable. Even the trees here are out to kill you. Would he/she be able to handle that?

 

Also, another question. About Dyn... Is the character physically a stallion when Dyn's spirit is in the body, and a mare when Fenyw's is? It just didn't seem entirely clear...

In response to the cow question...I have no idea. In the fanfiction Poison's involved in it's an important part, though.

 

Dyn should be fine; he's more distrusting than unstable unlike Poison, who's extremely mentally scarred.

 

And yes, he does go through a physical transformation. I thought I explained that pretty well, especially with the picture...apparently not. Sorry!

He's male most of the time.

 

Edit: If the male/female thing is too confusing, here's my last and favourite OC:

(okay, no links allowed...her name is Raindancer if you want to search her.)

I just use her the most and feel her backstory is too prevalant in everyday stuff.

We do start in the Zebran Desert, yes. So it makes sense that a zebra might accompany us. I don't see anything wrong with having a zebra along.

 

And yes, you may wear the mustache.

Well, you're not the only one. I've been called 'Descent', 'Descendant', and 'Decent' all before. Actually, I've been thinking about changing it to match one of my other characters. North Arrow, Evergreen or Cascade would be better?

 

(Cascade's my new OC that I created out of a three o'clock in the morning inspiration. If you'd be willing to take a look, I'd appreciate feedback on her in a PM.)

 

Oh yea, Descant, Is Diamond going to be an Alicorn ? If you would prefer her not to be an alicorn than she can be a pegasus.

OMGOMGOMG, SIGN ME UP WITH SOMBER TUNES. I want to actually build backstory with this one. Pretty pretty please?

I'd like to accept Somber, but I hesitate. I'd like to hear your reasoning as to why a depressed songwriter would be hand-picked to travel into the deadly Amblezon Jungle. I'll stay open-minded, don't worry.

What wilderness survival skills does Star Frost have to offer? What would his interest be in traveling to the Amblezon in specific? 

 

His profile seems rather lacking and short. What adventures did he go on? Where did he go after the tsunami? How'd he get off of the uncharted island? Stuff like that.

Just wanna say, For this RP, Anyone who has met Diamond in another RP...Lets just say you don't know her in this one, Her character will be a little different in this RP.

True. I was thinking that it would make more sense if none of the characters knew each other before they all met up in the Zebran Villiage.

I tried to make a name that sounded similar to Zecora, and I sort of MLPonifed Mozambique and the capital of Mozambique, Maputo. You can see the altered names in my sheet.

Nah, man. That was actually a pretty small island. An uncharted island, remember? The Amblezon Jungle is known as the Amazon Rainforest IRL, and we're talking pre-exploration, untamed Amazon. The Jungle takes up half of South America.

 

The Island Jungle burnt down though. We could say this one is similar, except deadlier.
