First of all, I had no idea where to put this, So it'll have to go here, Sugar cube corner. I am going to be very shifty and class this as a 'Meet up' because... Well, Meeting up would be involved in this.

 

Second, Has this already been mentioned? Has someone already come up with this?

 

Well, I couldn't find it. But guys, What about this - A fan made episode with all of our Characters in? Sound good? Obviously, due to the number of people on this site, We couldn't fit all of us in the one Episode. We could do it like Hasbro do it, But those of you who know what the Musicians of Ponyville,

 

 

I think it's a great idea. I could get my animator mates to get on the case, But seeing as they are not Brony's, I'd have a couple of ear-fulls while I was at it. I thought that the Animators of this site and friends of yours could help instead. Why am i suggesting it, seeing as I'm not an animator? Well, I was waiting for someone else to suggest it to be tottaly honest, But this project would be a perfect thing to bring each of us together.

 

We would need 1^st world vocals for each of the characters, So you would need a recording device that can hear to a good quality.

 

But, What do you guys think of this? Could we pull it off and would we want to? I'll leave that to you guys.

This is a really awesome idea but at the same time a very difficult process at that! This is certainly possible but I would think this kind of thing would take a good while. A lot of people would have to be in agreement in this too. It is a cool topic to discuss on though I will say!

This would give me an excellent excuse to obtain a good quality microphone.  It would be a useful thing to have for my major anyways.

 

If I ever obtain such a mic, I would be willing to do voice work.  I can also kind of do sound and music work if you for some reason can't find anyone better than a complete noob such as myself.

It's a very interesting idea, it might be a little hard to make it happen, but everything's possible

I say go for it, fans have written fanfics, made fanart and fangames, and parodies so I guess the next logical step would be to make fanmade episodes.

Well let's see...

 

(Some of these could overlap and be the more than one job to the same person)

 

We'd need a Director to come up with everything that was happening in it, and a clear vision of what he wanted from start to finish. He or she would also need to be a good leader and be able to tie all components of the work together.

 

We'd need a Writer and Story Artist. These roles would respectively construct the layout and composition of each video scene (every time the camera angle or focus changes, that's a new scene) and in relation to one another {Story Artist, or "Storyboarder"}, and a Writer to come up with the lines.

 

We'd need an Animator, experienced in Adobe Flash and/or Adobe After Effects, and a heaping helpful of Illustrator and Photoshop would help too.

 

We'd need someone to do Audio Composition and Editing.

 

We'd need someone to Video Mastering, skilled in appropriate software. If not After Effects, Premiere Pro, VideoStudio or some other video editing software.

 

We'd need Voice Actors.

 

We'd need an Editor. (An Editor must not be the same person as the Director and/or Writers.) They would oversee every stage of production, basically playing the devil's advocate to all of the Director's decisions and critiquing all unchallenged ideas.

 

This all could be done by as few as three people (not including voice actors), but to be done well, it would take a great deal of work. Working day-in-day-out in ideal conditions, a complete 10 minute video would take a week to make, I estimate. Assuming any member of the crew would have school or work, a month would be a laudable rate to produce a single 22 minute video.

 

But because people are so fickle, the slightest error or minor detail out of place in the video could potentially negate all audiences, rendering all the work void.

Well, I don't suppose you'd want to be one of these three (or more) people, Would you? At least you've taken time to think about the outcome of all of this, for a start. 

 

People get lazy, So maybe six people would be better, Or even nine... This would mean that nothing goes wrong and it's perfectly up the scratch. Heck, We could just have a load of good editors

Well this sure sounds like an awesome idea But I probably wouldn't be any help since I just started animating like 2 days ago :/ So yea can't help with such poor skills atm :/ Right now all I can say is good luck if you get the project runing

For the love of Luna! This is the only community I know which makes its own show.

Awesome guys. I really am interested in this. I can help with story writing if you want, but I think we need a kind of permission from Hasbro to do this?
