Well, that's the last time I ever buy anything pony-related in public.

Why have not a single one of you actually questioned where these people got their hate to begin with? Everything has a point of origin and hate is a learned trait, for something has to come from somewhere. At some point something had to instill the idea of hate towards brony's and i would seriously wonder and question where it came from. The comment of "we don't associate with brony's" means someone or something convinced these people something is wrong with us. Do you even realize that this kind of thing then get's passed on to other people as they will start trying to convince others they know about why they believe there is something wrong with us and attempt to convince the uninformed whom will easily agree with whatever they say?

I'm not hating or being intolerant here but I feel i must point out that if anything, that is a sign that something is at work that we aren't seeing and I would like to know what it is...

I didn't consider it relevant when someone who may or may not have done any of that is positng about how they had an unpleasant public experience. If I had confirmation that he went around being overtly obnoxious about it maybe I would point that out to him, but I don't. More for its own unrelated discussion topic.

That's kinda my point that he was minding his own business but what you don't see is that a little kid just got told that something is wrong with brony's.... what part aren't you getting? That kid isn't going to question that statement and will eventually try and find a reason in his mind as to why and will most likely end up listening to more things which will most likely turn him into a hater.

I get it. I just don't get why it's an important enough discussion for a topic where someone is venting about their personal experience and how embarrassing it was for them for you to question why people aren't discussing it. How does discussing the reason behind the hate or what the child is going to grow up thinking do anything emotionally relevant on an emotional topic?

Oh my gosh that is awful. If I were in your situation I would stab them in their stomachs and make them suffer every pain and agony and torture there is in the world. FORGET LOVE AND TOLERATE!!  Those stupid little....

Ugh. I can't stop thinking about how much I'd love to bash in a couple of their skulls. And that little girl. That little girl who in her right mind should be enjoying MLP herself. If only they'd realise that they can't control what you like, and everyone is different, and if you don't like what they say you should like, then you're weird, to put it mildly. I wish I were there at the time to walk up and tell them that. I swear I'd do it.

The nerve of that mother, going to tell the security guard that you're a pedophile... awful. Why can't she mind her own dammin' business and keep an eye on her bucking child. I would've laughed or felt something in my brain or chest loosen if she got minced by a big umm... mincing machine where they chop garbage up into tiny pieces and then BURN IT. BWAHAHAHAH  :D

Just because you're a brony doesn't make you any less human. I've ignored my mom and dad whenever they tell me to do this, but I'm going to tell you. Just ignore. I know it's impossible when the world around you is laughing at you and there seems to be nowhere to go, but imagine you have blinkers on, and go buy your stuff, get your business done, and look like any other mall-shopper. Why? Because you are.  You did not go to that store to listen to other people's opinions. This is why celebrities are always so messed up. They listen to other people's opinions and change themselves based on that. Don't worry about what other people think, you've got us bronies and pegasisters backing you up. :)

No one these days cares what you are, but if you're different, then all-of-a-sudden, you've got tons of people on your back just for being yourself. Just because a bunch of sissy's cant stand to see something that might not be regular, doesn't mean you need to change yourself. Don't be afraid to be yourself and just move on with life dude. Is it really all that important to just brood over it? Besides, wasn't it funny to see all of the reactions? i mean really. Whenever i see someone wearing a pony something at the store, i just smile and usually tell them that its awesome! there always has to be someone out there that is just grinning behind their back because they have a pony shirt on underneath their jackets!

1.How old was the girl?

2.Did the security gaurd do anything to you?

Honestly, if I was there, I would have gone all dramatic and acted like discord in front of that girl, just to counter troll.

Also about that mother, does it mean that if I go up to any radom child and talk to them, it makes me a pedophile? That was a disgusting accusation that I just cant stand.

Pretty much everyone here has said what needs to be said, all I have to say is do whatever you want. Don't let society shape you because quite frankly... today's society is so full of retard, close-minded people that I am actually ashamed to be a part of it <_< .

Oh well...

Just leave it alone and move on.

Man, some of the stuff I hear makes me wonder where you guys live...New York? Jersey? Not to throw stereotypes around, but nobody would be that rude in public here. They might look at me funny and whisper, but beyond that they mind their own business. I won't make jokes about it either, because if it happened to me I'd be furious and embarrassed for the town.

But you are assuming that hate always has a rational reason or purpose when in many cases hate exists for no rational reason whatsoever. Some people just hate because they are just haters, they feel so insecure and inadequate that taking others down is the only way they can build themselves up. Part of it is the fact that bronies fly in the face of what is considered acceptable by gender rolls even those rules are so outdated and hypocritical it is one of those things most people don't question or even think about but just follow anyway do to societal conditioning. People fear what they don't understand and not falling in line and conforming is considered threatening to some people. And more controversial aspects of the fandom such as cloppers kind of give some people the wrong idea, I am not saying cloppers are bad but bronies being cloppers is a fairly common insult I have heard.

In all seriousness tho, if you get frustrated / angry about the ignorance and stupidity of human kind, you will cause yourself brain injury soon. Just ignore it, or even better, enjoy it. Once more the famous quote - Isn't it great to be different?

When people don't understand something they think it's wrong and disgusting, so when people say that to me all I say is "Have you ever watched the show for yourself?" and they usually have nothing to say back. I am a brony and I am proud of it. When ever people ask me why I would ever like a show like that, I defend myself with words. I make my point to them, and that's why no one ever makes fun of me at all. Stand your ground, be yourself. :)

I for one get a laugh out of it when i see anyone judging me.

I've even worn an mlp shirt at a Slipknot concert

If people would bother to actually talk to someone before judging them they could actually meet one of the funnies most caring people ever, Instead of judging them because of their appearence

That's a horrible thing for one person to say to another.

Please don't feel bad. It's not your fault they're so stupid, and there are so many stupid people living on this planet. You shouldn't let other people's ignorance stop you from behaving how you'd like. You didn't do anything wrong.

Well m8, i am sorry to hear that! Here, a hug will make you feel better! *Hugs YesMan234*

Anyway, where you're from is full of morons... honestly if i was in you're siutation, i would of stuck up to them and say "Yea, i am a brony, so what? you have a problem? Deal with it, i don't judge you, so you shouldn't be judging me, PERIOD*.

I never bought anything in public, but i got a shirt online from www.redbubble.com if it makes you feel any more comfy to buy stuff, then i'd recommend you get things online so that'll fix your problem.

In Texas, people don't judge.. and i am glad i live in Texas :)  people down here are nice and they respect for your interests.. depends on who you specifically run into, but alot of my friends don't judge me cause i'm a brony... they like it themselves which i was lucky enough to find out, and i'm friends with a few bronies.

But alot of other places judge you just cause you like something like MLP.. there is nothing wrong with that at all. It's normal.. it's like people that still like to watch any other kids show and you're never too old to watch cartoons, and who are they to laugh at? What they don't know is how big this fandom is, i'd be damn impressed cause there are over 30 million bronies all over the world in pretty much every country on this planet(maybe not N Korea, but still ^_^ ).

Other than that, don't let it get to you, just stand up for yourself to those inconsiderate assholes, and they will back off... especially if they run into me.

Hoping i could of cheered you up by this post! ;)

Damn dude, that's a new low.  The public must be really ignorant about us.  We're just normal people that like a television show.  Nothing more, nothing less.

Going against the social norm has always been reacted to negatively.  It's a little sad, too.   I just bought a pony t-shirt.  I hope I don't have to go through this crap.

I'm not assuming anything. I know about this thing called cause and effect. Their hate was a effect which became a cause to hate at some other point in time which means that for them to hate to begin with there had to be a cause such as things you have pointed out that i already know and understand. My question was simply where they got it from. I'm aware of cloppers. It a part of the fandom I do not partake in but accept it's existence.

This is absolutely the funniest situation I've ever seen. How ignorant these people can be. When I went to hot topic the other day, no one laughed at me. I saw this girl with the same Rainbow Dash hoodie and thought "Phew! I'm not alone!" Even though I'm a boy, I was still happy that there were some mlp fans.

But in your case, this is just plain ignorance. Watch out for these types of parents, they will try to bug you with their little "ignorant sensitivity".

But to get serious now, this is just plain wrong. How could a woman just randomly go to a security guard and call you a pedofile, when you don't mess with children. She is using the term improperly. You just love the show and you want to represent.

I have to deal with my mom the same way. SO, the best advice I have for you is to keep calm, ignore the best you can, and don't be so sensitive, this is the reason why some bronies cannot defend themselves when they are in disputes.

the girl was most definetely a troll, and I would have gone all dramatic on them in your situation. Also, I would have expected that the guard question you just to satisfy the mother, seeing as how a majority of customers in

Hot Topics are bronies, He would have gotten used to your type of person by now. I guess you got really lucky.

I totally understand your situation. But for me, once I got over the shock of being laughed at, I would have rolled with it. I would have loved to flaunt it in those people's faces. Walk around long enough, and you would probably have run into another brony! XD I once wore a belt with all the Mane 6 on it. I loved seeing people look at me like... "What the heck?" Oh the small-minded ways of our species... :/
