Do you read the entire thread before replying?

I often jump around weirdly. Read the last three pages, then page 1, then page 7, or something like that. I backtrack or go forward if I'm intrigued.

I do that sometimes. Especially if I just skim a few pages and read some of the last page and find a post that refers back or quotes a previous post. Then I will go back and try to find what I missed.

I sort of like to post in any section that has a thread with a title that interests me.

I do this as well. I don't ever stick in one area. I kind of like to get around.

But I always read the OP, then read the first page or most of it. Then, depending if I'm interested in reading other peoples comments, I will read more pages. Otherwise I skip to the last page and see what people are saying. I then post if I have something to say. I don't ever read a whole thread unless it's short. Generally a page or two. Sometimes three. Depends on how I feel.

Like, don't underestimate my power man.

Most days I'll stop and read what everpony is saying. So this way I don't repeat what anypony has said already. Some days I don't read any of them.. because I don't have the time or I just don't feel like reading...

Yes, and no, not if the thread has a huge amount of replies in it.

I do read some of them here and there when Im not on one of those days where I just dont care and post randomly.

Depends on how many replies/pages there already are.

Usually though, I just read the first few posts, then the posts on the most recent page so I can get an idea of what I should say, then I go ahead and start typing out my own. :D

Depends, usually I read the first two pages and then the last one it's kind of funny how there are often many good unread posts because everyone is so eager to post theirs. So I can't say I read the entire thread unless it's some type of debate thread or "post your favorite.. Or something else". Otherwise I read the first two pages or the first page and then the last one. Sometimes when it's a simple question I just post and then read later on. Often I skim through posts.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Shorter threads I tend to read all, but I think it’s a good habit to read as much as because often I found out additional information and other opinions which make me take a step back from what I was going to say and think a little more about it.

Yes...usually I will read the first couple pages/posts. Depends on what it's about.

If the thread is really long, I'll read a few of the first pages and a few of the last pages and then make my post. If, while I'm reading it, everyone's posts' start to sound a bit too samey, I'll just skip to the last page and post. I'm also likely to skim through many of the posts in your average "post your opinion and then leave" thread, or your average "post your results" threads, only really reading the posts of members I'm interested in hearing from or about. Still, if the topic and posts are interesting enough and the thread not absurdly long, I'll read through most if not all of it.

No... only a few of  the post....(I won't even be here yet to post)... I just try to get the idea of the discussion being held and see if I would fit in...

No, I don't. Usually, I'll read the entire first post. Sometimes I'll read the whole first page, especially if it's short. However, by the time I get to the bottom of the page, usually my ideas are already brewing and I want to get them out before I forget or lose my train of thought. That, and some threads are freaking behemoth. I'm not going to read 30 pages of posts in order to reply. Ain't nobody got time for that! Generally after the fact, I'll read the posts above mine, and maybe on the page before the one I posted on, to see people's individual conversations, but I'd say the max number of pages I read per post I make is probably 3 or 4. And that's if I'm really in the mood to read that much, so on average, it's more like 1.5.

I'm guilty of that a few times, but then it comes back to bite you in the butt. Somebody gets angry at a comment you post, and only then do you realize you were missing the point of the topic. That only happened to me once though. I read the entire OP before I post.

But read the entire THREAD? Gosh no.

On the DeviantArt forums, I read the whole thing and usually most or all of the replies but on here, I seem to care less.

It really depends on the thread, though. I wouldn't just jump in on a thread in the debate pit or something regarding a topic I am uneducated on. I sometimes even do research in order to put in my own insight. Some people think it's pointless because internet forums are just hobbies but I see no reason why I shouldn't get some education in every now and then. My knowledge seems to have really grown ever since I got into forums.

I generally read the post made by the OP and on ocassion I scroll through a few pages before I post. I like to see what other people posted. xD
