Harmonic Revelations 8,835 April 24, 2013 Share April 24, 2013 (edited) Well first i wanna ask you WHY YOU SNEAK INTO A GRAVEYARD AT NIGHT!? (no offense) The first picture looks like something atleast... That one i can understand what you mean with. Still not enough to get me to believe in ghosts and spirits. But I do understand why this made you change your mind. The second one, it could very well be that I'm simply stupid, but I don't see any "blob", sorry.... Because my friends wanted to go ghost hunting, and the reason we had to SNEAK in is because it's hella-illegal to go in at night like that....if you get caught. Relax, I'm respectful, didn't touch anything. I just walked around a bit. Almost got caught, too. Also, in the second picture, the gravestone on the very left is not a gravestone, and does not exist. Also, I took this one and put a red oval for making it more clear, albeit I think this one might have been nothing. Thrashy 2,800 April 24, 2013 Share April 24, 2013 I definitely believe in wayward spirits. My family and I have had many encounters with things we can't explain, which we chalk up to the supernatural. Not out of ignorance of more logical explanations, mind you - we always have such explanations on-hoof - but rather because these instances always seem to relate to a deceased family member, giving us reason to believe they're still hanging around and watching over us. Not to mention the fact that we seem to "feel" the presence of said deceased. My mom and younger sister, for example, have felt the presence of my grandma upon occasion, even catching random whiffs of the perfume she used to wear as well as cigarette smoke (as she was a heavy smoker). Sure, you could chalk it up to "temperature changes cause her old belongings to emit the odor of smoke trapped in the pores" or something more logical like that, but some of these circumstances have been accompanied by brief, out-of-the-corner-of-the-eye apparitions that seem to depict my grandma wearing her deep violet wedding dress. So whether irrational or not...we believe.

Hazel-Beam 88 April 24, 2013 Share April 24, 2013 (edited) On the subject of the paranormal, does anyone believe in guardian angels? Also, do you believe that your relatives that have passed on actually visit you in dreams when you do dream about them? My mom and I have had a couple experiences of my grandfather visiting us in dreams, telling us he misses us and telling us about what decisions would be appropriate to make in the future. I definitely believe in guardian angels - I've had several experiences that should have left me dead, yet here I am still, due to my guardian angels always watching over me. Miracles are always happening all around us. I believe that. I also believe that our relatives can visit us in dreams. Many of my relatives have had those dreams before. As for ghosts, I am quite nervous to bring up that subject with other people in conversation because just the thought of them gives me the chills! I think of them more as troubled spirits who haven't moved on from this life to the next. I definitely wouldn't go out of my way to look for them! I've heard of some pretty scary stuff happening to people who mess with things they shouldn't. There are some forces in the world that just can't be explained. Tex 88 April 24, 2013 Share April 24, 2013 Ghosts? Ghosts. I absolutely hate the idea that ghosts might exist. There's zero concrete proof that ghosts exist, and I've yet to experience anything 'super natural' in my lifetime to warrant belief. Every single ghost story can be explained. Sometimes the explanations are theory, but it still has more weight than 'dead people messing with the living, with zero rationality in their actions' as far as I'm concerned. I'll give you an example: A friend of my mother's was dumbfounded when they found out I don't believe in ghosts (oh gee, it must be stupid to think clearly about something for more than ten minutes) and immediately began to spout story after nonsensical story to somehow 'make me' believe, at least that's my assumption because she certainly wasn't doing it for the sake of an interesting story. The first story was 'her dead father holding her shoulder a week after he passed away'. Think about that for a damn second people. First of all, she said this happened at around 3 in the morning, meaning she was probably sleep deprived since she goes to work at 8 AM every day. On top of that, her emotional state was probably in disarray with only a week of grieving (this is taking into account the type of person she is, some people aren't affected for weeks at a time). Now, somebody who desperately wants to see their dead father again, in complete disarray, might actually hallucinate something like a sensation on their shoulder and the image of their father's face for a moment. Looking back on the occurrence, one might exaggerate after something like this happens. Before someone spouts 'GHOST' they should think about the situation for a little while. Unfortunately not a lot of people do this. Don't get me wrong, it's fine to believe in ghosts if you really want to, just like it's fine to believe in god. I however, find it absurd. *Credit to Kyoshi for great sig*
Ghost 173 April 25, 2013 Share April 25, 2013 She wasn't just seeing things? Sorry if you think I'm acting a bit rude but, from the way i read it, she was still kinda small? Since I'm still really doubting the existence of ghosts, I'm just trying to find some kind of explaination to the whole thing. At the time she was probably in 6th or 7th grade. I'm a year older, so we were both young then. She may have been seeing things, and since no one else saw the ghost or whatever it was, I can only go off of her word. If I remember correctly, I think my sister said she stared at the ghost for a few seconds befofre leaving if that makes any difference. I can't fully explain this stuff either, and although I tend to believe in ghosts, not all skepticism is gone.
Lord Nebula 1 April 25, 2013 Share April 25, 2013 I don't beleive in ghost at all. I only beleive in demons that make themselves seem freindly or someone we once knew. Satan was known as The Prince Of Lies.
Philosophy Pony 123 April 25, 2013 Share April 25, 2013 If there's anything the human mind is really good at, It's fabricating the truth. When something unexplainable happens, we look for an immediate answer without resorting to logic, and making things like ghost stories up. Were not as rational as we humans think we are Same thing with zodiac signs, tarot cards, coast to coast radio lol. Sorry to burst anyone's bubble, but it's true. Once you get your imagination going, the mystical can have an all too real effect on the human psyche. 1 “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” ― Mark Twain
Thunderchild 875 April 25, 2013 Share April 25, 2013 Well, I think that, rather than 'Ghosts', the amount of existence we experience on a day to day basis is very limited. I believe that there is a spirit realm as well as a physical one, and sometimes we see glimpses of it-whether we are in the right frame of mind, or just a bit preoccupied at that second, we forget that we can only see in the physical dimension and, for a second, see into the spiritual one.

Unpredictable Ranger 696 April 25, 2013 Share April 25, 2013 @, spirits don't just wander around and go "Boo" or "Boo yah!" (okay, the second one is just something I took from a famous dialogue) at other creatures they meet. Usually the ones who fall prey to hauntings or voices disturbing them are the ones who don't have strong spiritual endurance (as I had said it before in this topic); a person might have a sturdy body build or a strong intelligent mind, but if he/she doesn't not have spiritual endurance, there you go -- spiritual disturbances can happen. I hope your friend will be okay, I can' help you and your friend since that communication by means of online interaction so far isn't a good way to assist people who are haunted/spiritual disturbances, so far. Stary Dreams 87 April 25, 2013 Share April 25, 2013 I've had this happen to me a lot when I was a kid. You see, I lived in a country where belief in the paranormal is strong and it wasn't unusual to encounter a ghost experience. Funny thing is that my neighborhood was right in the middle of two cemeteries, and I used to go in either one and play with my friends. We would always do awkward rituals or something like that (I know, weird thing to do as a kid) since my friends knew a lot about supposedly contacting the dead. I didn't really participate as much, though I just stood and watched while they placed candles on the graves and tried to contact them. We didn't get replies, though my cousin did tell me that he saw my dead grandfather's ghost looking over his dead body at the funeral that took place a few years ago. 1 "People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but *actually* from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint - it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly... time-y wimey... stuff. Domnopalus 19 May 2, 2013 Share May 2, 2013 If anyone has had anything strange that they can't explain happen to them--everything from missing time, to ghosts, to angels, to alien abductions, to spotting cryptid animals, high strangeness, psychic moments, etc., you name it--spill it! We WON'T think you are crazy, if you are concerned. Also, this isn't a contest so no need to make stuff up, obviously. I find the subject EXTREMELY fascinating and I really believe there is more going on in this world than we think and that science can explain at this point in time. I'm not an all-out believer--I have a healthy dose of skepticism--but I also don't believe everyone who tells these stories is 'making stuff up.' By the way, if you are also fascinated by the subject, try listening to some amazing podcasts/radiow shows on the subject: Jim Harold's Paranormal Podcast http://www.jimharold.com/ The Darkness On the Edge of Town Radio (Darkness Radio) http://www.darknessradio.com/ And of course, Coast to Coast AM (you can find tons of them, up to date, on Youtube, though if you want the official content you have to have a paid subscription) http://www.coasttocoastam.com These are three of the BEST ones out there, in my opinion--the most well-balanced ones I could find. Minimal fluff in there. Avatar tag: shipping 299 May 2, 2013 Share May 2, 2013 I've had two paranormal experiences that I can remember. 1: I was working my part time job and I had to go to Atchison, KS which anyone that knows anything about ghosts, knows about Atchison. I had to repair a broken bathtub in an old Victorian house that was about to go on the market. The power was turned off because the hvac system in that old house was criminally inefficient, so they couldn't afford to keep it on. Which also meant no lights. The whole time I was working on the tub I was hearing things. All the floors in the house were hardwood, so there was no mistaking the footsteps. I searched the house and found nothing, then I started hearing voices. I wrote that off at first, it's an old drafty house and the voices are coming from the street... Until I remembered that it was 45 degrees and raining... Needless to say, I hurried up and finished the job and cheesed it. 2: I was at the station one night and my partner and I decided to take the rig out for a spin a night last month. We drove around town, trying to cure the boredom of an uneventful shift. As we drive down a side street, a big, bright, fireball shot overhead of us. I thought I was seeing things until my partner asked if I saw it. The first thought through our head was a plane crash so we radioed it in. Dispatch told us that the cop on duty saw it as well. We waited to hear from them what it was, but I still haven't heard anything. That's all I can think of for right now. 2 Sig by the one and only Doc Volt! Gone but not forgotten! Guess who's back!!! Urkelbot 63 May 2, 2013 Share May 2, 2013 One thing that always stuck with me happened at a drive in movie when I was a teenager. We were goofing off and watching... some movie... As Good as it gets maybe? I dunno, Anyway, in the sky, above and to the left of the movie screen there was this bright, round blue-white flash, Like a huge camera flash, only too high and bright. I wondered if it was some sort of lightning I had never seen. There was no thunder, or other bad weather around. If anyone has an explaination, I'd like to hear any hypotheses. StormzInvader 127 May 2, 2013 Share May 2, 2013 I've personally never had any paranormal experiences. However, I am very fascinated with all these things as well. I watch different documentaries, mostly things on SyFy channel. Just yesterday, I watched Haunted Collector and Deep South Paranormal on there. I personally believe that these are real. There are lots of stories out there. I wonder why never had any experiences yet. Hmm... Thank you, Gone Airbourne, for the amazing signature! NeuroTypical 64 May 2, 2013 Share May 2, 2013 I'm a total skeptic, and usually can think of a dozen normal explanations for what people tell me. But there are certainly a handful of stories I just cannot explain, told by people I respect who seem to have a few brain cells to rub together. I love hearing those.

Crystallize 279 May 20, 2013 Share May 20, 2013 Paranormal? I love that stuff. I recommend a site called Listverse that's got all kinds of paranormal lists and such. Unfortunately even though I love reading and watching stuff about it, I always end up getting scared at night. There was incident a few years ago. I was with my friends for a sleepover and it was quite late at night and they were using an Ouija board. I wasn't in on it as I was just reading in bed but my 4 friends were around the board and one of my friends tried to contact the ghost of some famous dead rockstar and the record player next to us started playing 'Highway to Hell' after she finished. They were scared to death but it was actually the funniest thing ever. I mean, that had to be a prank, right? Right???
scootersmiles 16 May 20, 2013 Share May 20, 2013 I was lucky enough to be a live abord on the USS Lexington (I got to sleep in a WWII aircraft carrier!). The ship is nicknamed "the blue ghost" because the Japanese reported being sunk several times and because of the blue paint. Almost 400 solders have lost there lives abord that ship! And is currently considered the most haunted ship in the world! And after dark I saw hammocks swinging in a ship without air conditioning or windows on that level. and when we finally went to sleep they kept the red lights on (so we could sleep but still see) and I herd foot steps on the grating next to the cot I was sleeping and there was no one there(FYI the place we slept was the same room where the solders slept). But that was it, it didn't feel evil or bad. (I think its funny that I had more a a paranormal experience then an actual paranormal team on TV!)

Of any kind,be it ghosts, aliens, cryptozoology, hauntings,i love them all.I haven't had any experiences by myself. However,my mom once told me she was walking with a friend of hers in the center of the city. When they walked next to a church, mom claimed she saw a demonic, black dog with crimson eyes and weird white stuff coming from its mouth standing next to the door. She then asked her friend if she.saw it too,but she said no.Only mom could see it.Was that dog the Devil himself??? Tust me,Mexico is a very very very haunted place, with famous legends like La Llorona and many others, the best you and i can do is Giggle at the Ghostie,or if it doesn't work, then run away 2 My Dragon Cave scroll: http://dragcave.net/user/Dino-Mario
Brony182 48 May 20, 2013 Share May 20, 2013 This Is great stuff guys! I hope theres more coming. I haven't encountered paranormal myself but since I live in an old house (people died here) where my mom spent her whole life she told me stories of how after her grandpa died (who built the house) she used to go to sleep at night and every time she closed here eyes she would see/dream strange eyes staring at her from the darkness and also hear breathing somewhere close even though she was alone. Anyway Im not sure if this was real since I wasn't even born yet but things like these interest me very very much. Also when I was a child I used to think that I kept hearing footsteps on the stairs but that was long ago and I can't really tell if it was real or just my childish head playing tricks on me. I would very much like to participate In a ghost hunt with a team of investigators and all the equipment. I am also a huge fan of paranormal shows Ghost adventures and ghost hunters and I love movies about spirits and demons especially Found footage since they seem so realistic. p.s I try avoiding mirrors at midnight xD I don't know why but Im always afraid that I might see something that's not supposed to be there.
MilBrony 214 May 20, 2013 Share May 20, 2013 The following really happened; Afghanistan, 2012-2013 Deployment We were pulling Hot Gun (Sitting on the mortar system waiting for missions) and in the middle of our 12 hour shift, it was about 0130, when we heard what we thought were footsteps on the roof. I walked out of the bunker with my NVGs and gave the area a quick scan, nothing. A few minutes later we heard it again, I went out and looked and once again nothing. The third time this happened I was pretty sure that someone was screwing with us, I went up on the roof this time and hid behind the sandbags. I heard the footsteps coming towards me so I jumped out and what I saw was just a black shadow (still wearing NVGs) I walked up and reached out to grab whoever it was. That's when I lost my balance, fell off the bunker, and landed on my buddy who was staring straight up at what he described as "A giant black shadow with glowing red eyes" We saw this 'shadow' all through deployment...freaky
