So, Yveltal(ee-vel-tal) vs Xerneas, which is the better of the two new legendaries?

I'm partial to Yveltal, it's appearence is very striking to me. I hope it's not a Dragon type though. :3 Xerneas is cool as well, but looks an awful lot like Arceus and Virizion...

I think that Chespin looks the best out of the 3 so far, although hopefully they'll make Fennekin a real fire type without these ridiculous fire/fighting cross overs we've been seeing recently.

ya i agree there have been enough of the fire and fighting starters i hope they go back to the pure fire type. i'm still excited for the game and will probably get the one with the bird but i don't really have a reason why. i have played all the Pokemon games and i'm excited for the thought of the cards when they come out too. one major thing i hope they put into the games but doubt they will is character customization. i like the looks of the character but i would like to maybe change his hat or shirt every now and then. overall tho i'm am still very excited for the game.

But Fennekin is so much cuter and awesome looking than Froakie...

I mean, it's your opinion. You're allowed it... but the character design of Fennekin just seems to have so much wide appeal put into...

How can anyone NOT like it...!?

Ehhh, not sure, just something about it doesn't appeal to me. I'll admit some of my tastes are weird, after all my all time favorite pokemon is Poliwhirl, maybe my opinion will change after the evolutions are shown...for better or for worse. Last gen I liked Tepig a little more because of it's final evolution, though Oshwott was still my pick

Maybe it is a little too soon, but to be fair, the more recent games have come out yearly. Platinum in 2009. HG/SS in 2010, B/W in 2011, and B2/W2 in 2012. (North America Release dates.) There's not as long of a wait right now because they don't have to rebuild the game for each release, that is, the jump from R/S/E FR/LG on the Gameboy Advance to D/P on the DS required them to rebuild most, if not all, of the game to work with the new hardware. Since all the recent games are built off of that engine (They're all on DS after all.) it takes less time to build a new one.

So, here's something. I saw this on GameFAQs, what if the starters had these type combos:

Fennekin: Fire/Psychic

Froakie: Water/Fighting

Chespin: Grass/Dark

I still think I would go for Chespin, but it'd be nice if they'd move away from the Fire/Fighting thing they have going on with the Fire starter. It would be a nice change of pace and require more strategy.

thats true. its probably just me then. i just dont miss pokemon like i did well waiting for them from platinum. but the one thing that gets me is i would think they would have to rebuild it from scratch because of the 3d aspect of it

The last time two generations of Pokemon games were on the same system were Gen I (Red, Blue, Yellow) and Gen II (Gold, Silver, Crystal). B&W 2 are essentially Gen V's equivalent to the third titles of each previous generation (Yellow, Crystal, Emerald, Platinum).

Given this, compare the release dates between Gen II's Pokemon Crystal and the first games of Gen III; just under two years for America, but about one year for Japan. Compare the release dates of Black/White 2 and the tentative release date for X/Y; roughly one year for America, and just shy of two years apart for Japan.

It only feels shorter because it's shorter for America. On the other side of the pond, they're getting a longer gap between games more in tow with what we've seen here. This is the first time we Westerners have gotten our hands on a Pokemon title the same time as the Japanese. All things considered, this game's arriving right on time given the release dates of previous games in the series.

Thing is, I know exactly how you feel. The last time I was really excited for a new Pokemon game was in 2007, with Diamond and Pearl. I "couldn't wait" for Platinum or HG/SS, but I wasn't as excited as usual. The same with Black and White, I think its because they were all on DS, you kinda knew what to expect from the games. Sure, there were neat things in each games that was unique, but it always "felt" the same. I think now that Pokemon is going into the world of 3D, it not only looks different, but it is different. I think its also the hype that gets you going. Prior to this, Game Freak would release small details a bit at a time, like with B/W. This time, they pretty much threw everything out the door all at once, we know what the world is going to look like, we know what battles are like, etc. They did an amazing job with creating hype for the new games, and it makes more people excited than usual.

That would be so awesome if they added customisation! Or at least the option to choose some of the older characters I'd go back to being Red again just for the nostalgia of the original games. With the new graphics I don't see why they couldn't do it this time.

And, coincidentally, Mr. River is the first to tell us this.

The dying Pokemon lover side in me is saying "Cool!"

And the teenager brony doesntgiveafuck side is saying "Meh"

I haven't played Pokemon since Diamond because it got repetitive and boring.

But I'll pirate it just for childhood's sake

Oh crap-- If I could play as Ethan/Gold, I'd explode from sheer excitement!

Also--infoz!

The latest issue of CoroCoro contains art of Xerneas and Yveltal, as well as some basic details. Xerneas has a height of 3.0 m tall and weighs 215 kg, while Yveltal is 5.8 m tall and weighs 203.0 kg.

It was additionally confirmed that Xerneas will appear in Pokémon X, and Yveltal in Pokémon Y, as had been suspected since their initial reveal in the Pokémon Direct trailer. The official katakana renderings of their names were given for the first time: Xerneas is ゼルネアス, and Yveltal is イベルタル.

Source: http://bulbanews.bulbagarden.net/wiki/CoroCoro_leaks_with_official_art_of_X_and_Y_legendaries

So measurements:

H=Height, W=Weight. Imperial measurements converted using Google.

Xerneas: H 3.0 m / W 215 kg (H 9.8 ft / W 473.9 lbs)

Yveltal: H 5.8 m / W 203 kg (H 19 ft / W 447.5 lbs)

One can hope! I still think they should make a game with all of the regions together where you can choose which one you start of in would be amazing! Brendan was alright I guess xD

I saw this on memebase and it got me thinking

http://cheezburger.com/6955918592

Are you sad that there's no R/S remake?

I personally consider myself a fanboy of Gen 3, because it was the gen I grew up with and Emerald is still my favorite game, but I don't really care about a remake to be honest, I mean the game still holds up perfectly in gameplay, and the graphics are still nice-looking all things considered, so I don't really mind, but what do you think?

I'd love a R/S remake since I don't still have any of the systems to play GBA games (Nintendo's much better than the other companies about being backward compatible, but it rarely goes back more than 1 generation of systems). I try to avoid pirating even if there isn't a single way I could get my money to the creators in exchange for the relevant product.

Releasing a Gen III remake now wouldn't be a good decision. Pokemon needs to show off what it can do on the 3DS with new material. Don't get me wrong, I really want a Gen III remake, but it needs to come as a part of Gen VI, on the 3DS. They've relied on the DS long enough.

I agree with those who are saying that while we need a gen III remake it needs to come out on the 3DS. I think they did the right thing by releasing a new Gen before doing that remake. I have faith that we will see it. I could even see them remaking FR/LG for 3DS. You know heck I'd even be okay with them just releasing them on virtual consol.

It seems each pokemon has their own animations for the attacks rather than each attack having its own animation.

Now we'll finally figure out how others do seismic toss on diglett or how diglett does aerial ace. Or how diglett combats in general. That's if he's in the game D:

This is the first time though that the water pokemon isn't the one I'll be choosing, he looks stupid. The fire and grass type starters look amazing!

I think I was too harsh with the game earlier, and after seeing this trailer breakdown I got pretty excited.

I confess that I've only played Pokemon very few times compared to the fans, I've only played Pokemon Gold (in Japanese) on PC using disquettes (XD), probably most of you did not have been born when disquettes were the shit LOL. And Pokemon ruby in my GBA emulator, both of them were very addictive. Every Pokemon after Torchic's gen is completely unknown to me so it would be a great introduction to ALL the Pokemon that I've missed so far :D (because the cartoon is crap now)

The visuals are gorgeous, the battling animations are fluent and beautiful as well, I hope to see I change or a tweak in the battle system, but any way could be good. Every Pokemon game is a charm from start to end, and for people who don't play Pokemon that much like me, this has to be a game that can't be missed. The first of it's kind   :D

ME = EXCITED! :wub:

Really? REALLY? Are they serious? What the fuck? Even more Pokémon? The last generation was terrible. They have 649 Pokémon, yet they're making another 200? Why can't they just do new games with the same ones.. They're killing pokemon :C I want the old 2D style pokemon games back ... like r,s,e, fr or lg :( (the older ones are awesome too but we all know they're not making a game without colors)

Anyways, if I had to pick one I'd pick Froakie.

That's what I'm getting out of you there Jok :|

But what's bad about progress? Would you really rather use the same old Pokemon over and over? Why's that fun? And besides the old Pokemon don't fit the new region probably, they were meant for their own region.

Look, Emerald is my favorite game to ever be made, but even I'm happy with the fact they're not re-using older stuff, it's better in my opinion that they are making progress with the series instead of dwelling on the past.

And one more thing, the last Gen wasn't THAT bad, yes it was pretty unoriginal but it was a fun game nonetheless, however that's not the point, the fact that the last gen was bad doesn't mean this one will be, and in fact from what I saw I think it's going to be a LOT better.

I could even see them remake FR/LG for 3ds

Why would they make a remake of a remake?

Remakeception

I'm just not seeing the whole point of doing so, unless they could make it at least twice as good. Which doesnt seem possible.

Because there is a a new generation of players that wont be able to play them as they are for GBA and as of the DSi and 3DS they no longer have GBA slots. So you have a group that no longer has access to those games. Pokemon feeds off nostalgia and keeping things familiar.  They will eventually bring everything to a current system so people can have "the good ol days".

@@Brook, No I'm not a hoenn fanboy. I just don't like the new pokemon cause they almost look the same as some that already exists. Also the names are getting worse and worse. But of course I like the old pokemon better. I am almost three years older than you and I grew up with those. About the whole 3D thing, I just like it in 2D more.
