I don't know if I mentioned this before on here, but it warrants saying again:
Pinkie Pie is Harmony.

The Generosity to give 100% of her time an energy to making ponies happy.

 

The Honesty to be completely true to herself, and to others. No matter how things turn out, Pinkie started them with the best intentions.

 

Kindness. Normally, this would be the opposite of laughter. But Pinkie's pranks are designed to make everyone laugh, even the person who the joke is on. Additionally, she's always there to pick up a pony who's down. Nopony frowns when Pinkie's around.

 

Loyalty. Pinkie will never let down a friend in need. She would go to the ends of the earth to help her friends... or even to the middle of the everfree forest.

 

Friendship: Anypony new to Ponyville can tell you that Pinkie constantly demonstrates the magic of friendship. Ask Twilight Sparkle.

Ask all of the ponies she knows by name.

Joy is Harmony.  And despite Pinkie Pie being labeled as "the element of Laughter", it is not "Laughter" at all really, it's "Joy". Laughter would imply to me all she does is laugh..at anything..the spirit of laughter=laughing everything, regardless of whether its positive, or not. Nothing against the show but i find her element label in the show faulty when you dig deep into her true meaning, and what she truly represents by her actions.    

 

Pinkie Pie should be labeled "Joy" as a element, joy is what allows her to do all that you already listed, and then some.

 

Hell, without joy, none of the other elements would even exist, how could they? Joy is everything, it is the pinnacle of emotion, and all extent from it(good & bad) imo, it exist in more ways than meets the eye, and without it, all the other elements in the show could not exist as far as im concerned.

But you are correct Shimmer, Pinkie is Harmony, without Joy, Harmony is impossible -- hell even the element of Disharmony is impossible without Joy(tho that's a whole other area i will most likely never openly explain in this FC), honestly, Pinkie represents what we all could(and honestly should) strive to be like: Joyful. 

 

Tho i guess we can't have Pinkie as the ultimate everything in the show -- i understand the need to nerf Pinkie for 22min -- for show purposes, tho honesty, Pinkie doesn't mind, im sure.

I'll try to keep it under a thousand, but I can't promise.

 

The more I think about it, though the more this makes perfect sense. Laughter has a duality in it that Discord actually pointed out in Return of Harmony; it can be used as a weapon almost as much as a force of good. In our world, Laughter is most typically used to mock others. Someday, I hope to make a thread on Pinkie's particular style of comedy, but that's a different story.

 

Happiness is better, but it still doesn't properly describe Pinkie. Happiness is temporary, and generally centers itself around selfish things, like money and material objects. The people that chase happiness for personal desire create a light, but its a flame that extinguishes quickly, and has to be re-lit constantly. Even then, it's a candle that only shines within, and the darkness they reflect on the outside will continue to smother the light in a self-defeating prophecy.

 

Enter Pinkie, the eternal cheat code.

 

Pinkie never looked for joy, and ended up walking right into it. Instead of trying to take happiness, she gave happiness, and she gave it freely; she fills others with the light of joy. Joy reflects off of those she gives joy to, filling Pinkie with more joy to give to others in an eternal cycle. Pinkie Pie represents the endless light of true happiness; Pinkie Pie is Joy.

 

...It's funny when you think about it, Pinkie Pie is technically 8 to 9/10's enlightened. People spend their entire life looking for it, and she just sorta... has it. Strange world.

@, I actually meant explaining why Pinkie representing Joy puts her above all the other elements, and how i feel it's impossible for them to exist without joy, honestly making Pinkie the real 'Twilight' of the group. Yes the other elements/emotions are needed, but they only exist as a extension of joy, and Pinkie represents them anyways still.

 

Really tho, Pinkie already went trough her 'ascendance' when she was a filly. And the show could easily revolve around Pinkie and her true element openly if it so desired, tho i guess it already is, considering the element of friendship could not exist without joy.

 

Tho maybe that's the point, as sadly the show isn't called 'My Little Pony: Joy is Magic'.

 

Maybe one day, Pinkie will get her own spin-off show, because totally non-biased reasons.

Silence? If you mean the FC here in general; imean i guess it has gotten a little quite, i can't really complain tho. I do personally try to post when i feel the need to, but really, i haven't been posting as much here lately. Tho im sure the frequent visitors here are happy.

Honestly, as far as that pic is concerned, i have no idea how that is suppose to cheer me up in all honestly, i just get a sense of hopelessness & conundrum from it since by the end Pinkamena is confused. Tho perhaps i read it wrong, it is quite late, and i am quite tired. Tho i admit, i guess it could help someone if they were feeling down. Perhaps due to the fact one might be able to empathize with Pinkamena's confusion, as most people in despair are usually also confused, so, i guess it would make someone go 'i know how you feel' or something; thus feeling better possibly.

Well then, here's some reverse psychology of my own, close to my heart too.

Ok, i looked it up for funzies, huzzah -- i knew the beginning of that song before! It's a ok song, it sadly lacks Pinkie, so i certainly prefer the comic lyrics, especially Alicorn Pie. Wouldn't that be great? Alicorn Pinkie? Ok im going off on a ramble.

 

Anyways, i love the way the comic has, ofcourse, a happy Pinkamena, not only that, but the rain, and her clearly singing it is washing away all the pain of yesterday. Because while rain often in art/media means something negative, it can also(much like in this instance) mean cleansing, as the rain is washing away all the dirt(bad stuff & whatnot) off of you, thus making you clean.

 

Ofcourse, then she further states while singing, that her "kingdom awaits". This makes sense to me, as usually when one is cleansed of their sorrows, they feel hope, hope that one day, their day will come; their 'kingdom come'. And this also makes sense. Because once one has hope, the inevitably feel joy, and once you reach the inner joy within, and unlock it, well the next photo below it clearly shows what happens.

Don't be silly, ofcourse you will wont become a alicorn.(or maybe you will, who am i to say you can't)

 

However, you will be, well -- joyful, and that joy may very well give you a sense of 'magic' and 'weightlessness' -- almost like you can fly.

So, perhaps, when one is truly joyful on the inside, they may very well be a alicorn princess.(or a prince)

I was doing exactly what the pic i quoted did, but only backwards: Going from negative to positive --  and that was my purpose. I was reversing the reverse psychology of the reverse psychology i felt in that pic.

Well, as a Baby Boomer, I grew up w all the old (pre Japanamation) cartoons.  Never saw her do the "walk over a cliff & not fall till you look down" schtick or the "spin the log" bit (Bugs Bunny & Elmer's gag), but neither would surprise me. Her being the Element of Fun was, by far, Twilight's most accurate pick.  She reminds me of the old song lyric "but I never lost 1 minute of sleeping, worrying about the way things might have been".

 

She is not my favorite, but I like her because she hasn't a mean bone in her head nor the good sense God gave a goose.  Still, she is definitely an idiot savant. Usually, the accent is on the idiot, but (for example) she figured out the Nightmare Moon idea hours before Twilight did

 

But, if you think things can't get worse, imagine having her as a room mate.  Great Googley Moogley!  Your only hope for a minute's peace would be to escape into the witness protection program
