Twilight is from America. Massachusetts or Maine. She is definitely a private school girl. Also, I HATE it when people say Twilight is black because shes purple or Asian just because shes smart. Its so stereotypical. Not all asians are good at math or overachievers. Ponies colors DO NOT correspond with races at all. If she were black, they'd have a black voice actor for her and THEY DO NOT.Twilight is a white American girl. They rarely if ever make the main character of a tv show asian or black. Even though they should. Thats the truth.

Rainbow Dash is from Africa. Kenya. Flying would translate well to running if RD was human. Africa has some of the best runners in the Olympics.YES, black girls can be tomboys and have cute hoarse voices, too.

Rarity is from the America, in the Southern states. Shes definitely a southern belle. Maybe her parents traveled to Britain when she was young and thats how she picked up the British accent.

Fluttershy is from Canada because she loves nature. They are a lot woods there. Shes just friendly, shy and adorable!

Pinkie Pie is South America, maybe she was adopted and thats why her whole Amish family is gray and shes pink. It makes sense.

Applejack is from America. The southern states like Texas. Shes a hardworking tough country girl.

Alright! I love discussing the plausible nationalities of fictional characters(probably because i'm a One Piece fan, believe me it makes sense)

Let's see, i'd say:

Twilight is from England because of her connection to books, since English literature is very influential and gave origin to important authors such as Shakespeare, Mary Shelley and George R.R. Tolkien.

Pinkie Pie is from Brazil because of her easy-going and optimistic outlook in life as well as her openness towards other people.

Applejack is from the U.S.A., most likely Texas or a nearby state, since she fits so well into the "north-american country girl" archetype.

Rainbow Dash from Greece because of her sportyness as well as the greek-ish architecture we see in her house.

Rarity is from Italy because of its strong connection to the fashion industry, being the home to big brands such as Gucci and Versace.

Fluttershy is from Germany because of her quiet and reserved nature that also has a more serious and assertive side.
