The most geeky thing I have done in the name of Who?

That would probably be cosplaying as one of those gas-mask kids from "The Empty Child".

Good times...

Have any pics?

I've never watched Dr.Who... is it worth watching since it is on netflix?

Let me break it down for you. :)

Season 1 (on netflix) is with the 9th Doctor, a rather silly looking chap in a leather jacket with very short buzzed hair. He's very different from Tennant and Smith, but he is who he is. In his own way he makes a pretty decent intro to the new Doctor Who. Throughout season 1 he takes his new companion, Rose Tyler, on an incredible journey around space and time, showing her the universe and reintroducing the audience to the world of Doctor Who. At the end of the season some cool stuff happens and he ends up regenerating into the 10th Doctor, David Tennant.

Seasons 2-4 (on netflix) are with the 10th Doctor, the eternally awesome David Tennant, with the best hair ever, and the coolest voice antics. The episodes get better and better as you go, highlighting in the climactic season ending arc at the end of season 4.

It's important to keep in mind, if you get far enough and don't give up on the show, that between the seasons after 2, there are special holiday episodes which are not listed among the regular season episodes. Especially after the end of season 4. The Doctor does not regenerate into Matt Smith's doctor at the end of season 4, but rather there are several stand-alone episodes following that transition him to the next Doctor. So, if you get that far, keep an eye out for extra episodes. I can provide a list if you want, and I'm sure others here can too.

So yeah, enjoy! It's an amazing show. Totally worth it if you give it a serious chance. :)

Tyroq, you're awesomeness never ceases to amaze me. <sigh>

Anyway, yeah Tyroq pretty much said it all. I think Doctor Who kinda went in a bell-shaped curve. Christopher Eccleston (the 9th Doctor) Was alright, and then David Tennant came in and was all like radiating awesome. And then Matt Smith came in, he's alright, but Tennant set the bar pretty high!

I voted the tenth for no other reason than that it was his persona that got me into watching Doctor who in the first place. not to mention, I have only seen the ninth and the tenth now. started watching it 2 days ago lol.

not sure if those gas mask kiddos count as Antagonist, but those was legitimately creepy, and awesome.

I didn't read through the thread because of possible spoilers but I've only watched the first half of Season 2 (2006) and I love it. Tenth Doctor is awesome. I went to Think Geek and bought the sonic screwdriver pen/light :3

I found this the other day...

post-461-0-68514000-1323637116_thumb.jpg

Not sure if legit (I don't have time to go back and check the episode(s))

Ah yes, I've seen that before. But, it isn't legit I don't think. All the ponies other than the David Tennant one are fan-art. Still, pretty convincing.

Also in regards to what XFizzle said, we didn't have many spoilers. In fact I don't think we had any. But we'll try to keep spoilers to a minimum and make sure to put them in white text for all the new Whovians.

(Also XFizzle, welcome to Doctor Who!)

OMG epic save by Dad!!

:/ she's stuck in the alternate world

But at least she has her parents and Mickey together again =D

She can see the Doctor one last time =O

So yeah. Gonna watch the Runaway Bride special and jump into Season 3 tomorrow night

aww... only one other person like the fourth Doctor?! Come on! City of Death people!! Arguably one of the best episodes ever! The key to time series?!

Count yourself lucky; I'm the only one it seems whose favourite is the Ninth.

Oh well. This is me, swanning off. See ya!

lol yeah, I enjoyed the Ninth, idk why he left. I read somewhere where he said he didn't think the fans liked him? But I know I did!

Nah, he left because he didn't want to be typecast. He hasn't really been in anything major since Doctor Who, although he is set to star alongside...wait for it...Stephen Fry in a 2011 version of The Borrowers.

Loving Smith at the moment, though. Can't wait for the Christmas Special!

I liked him too, he just wasn't my favorite. Well, until the 10th doctor came along he was my second favorite.

I honestly never watched Doctor Who.

Should I get into it?

If you're okay with (sometimes a bit hokey looking, not too bad though) sci-fi themes and elements and can stand British accents, it's well worth watching. It's what Lost was but with more consistency, logical plots, and wit/humor.

and Doctor Who >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Lost

I'd suggest starting with Season/Series 2 (2006) with David Tennant. He's the Doctor Dr. Whooves is modeled after I guess.
